I feel like Jew hating has always been the best example of horseshoe theory in action except unlike the far right who are straight up about their hatred of Jews, the far left (up until recently) has generally tried to hide and repackage theirs in a more woke-sounding way. Like “We don’t hate all Jews, we just hate ‘the elite’ ones who have a lot of money or seem to have power through corporations/media/etc”, and “We aren’t antisemitic, we’re just anti-Zionism!”, and “It’s not that we don’t care about jews and antisemitism, it’s just that they’re technically white so they still have white privilege - and minority groups that aren’t black or brown aren’t actually oppressed and don’t need any focus or activism or recognization.”
It’s only been pretty recent that the far left has gone full mask-off with their antisemitism. And that’s why it seems so shocking, despite the fact that it’s been there all along just dressed up in less aggressive sounding, pseudo-woke bullshit.
I don’t know if there’s any other group of people that are so equally reviled by both the far left and far right. Though I think the attitude towards radical feminists is trending that way (but to a lesser extent) since the far right hates them for being aggressively pro-choice misandrists against traditional family values, and the far left hates them for thinking troons aren’t women and shouldn’t be in female spaces.
