Ehh, maybe not. I'm a good tech but I have no talent for visual presentation. Probably because I'm a dude.
... ah. I see.
its a fair query, actually.
I'm a working artist and preocupied with how things look and sound. So I cant from scratch code a website, or anything like that, but i can use a variety of audio/visual software, for art, music, etc.
Best i can do 'coding' wise, was the shit you'd pic up formatting your myspace page back in the day.
Even still, categorising Powerpoint et al as A/V is a massive stretch- its something i dont even really bother with as it falls more under secretarial, presentational kinda things, its all in the windows office package after all.
You'd think, however, it would be pretty easy to learn?
idk. I, perhaps wrongly assumed, that if you were super code savvy, you'd be easily able to at least fairly master a decent looking powerpoint.
I'd have thought that by mastering the skills needed for website design and back of house management, you'd be away and flying on things like powerpoint?
Maybe it comes flat out down to not caring how things look? (
slovenly man classic)
But at the state that he has it in that conference presentation, its so bad as to flat out appear amateurish and unprofessional.
I have the skills to make and master a track on various audio software, do some decent photoshop, graphic design- but i cant code, at all. Or any of the other ...whatever, it is they do.
But it feels like, the other way around, should be different? Perhaps thats unfair? But it seems at least from my viewpoint, that once you are at a level to be a professional for google doing the one thing, the other should come easy-
i don't NEED to be able to be a tech wizard in order to use the things i need to creatively. But once you are, it should be very easy to not present a dogshit pigs ear to a massive conference.
You know, when you're making bank for those appearances, and they are to be seen by thousands of people.
it comes down to two unflattering choices for Mong Jones;
He is either
1. lazy / uncaring, or
2. a fucking retard.
Not actually technologically talented, and just riding the fumes of his own bullshit and blagging, as a PR, HR type person. And even then, likely not even his own blagging skills;
a diversity hire, all the way, with a pinch of his narc manipulation.
After all, even before he trooned out, he was a Pee Oh Cee, with a penchant for gross sex and, post hoc, weedling blackmail.
(have we a date on his troonout, actually? it'd be interesting. I dont think we've even seen any OG Erriot pics.. Google jobs, and their search engine meddling, have their perks ig.)
The most amazing discovery of this thread could end up being if No Dong is actually dogshit at computers and Asked Jeeves his way through his 'career'.
