At the risk of powerleveling:
I had a pretty fucked up/abusive /violent childhood and no real support network, especially in high school where expressing vulnerability paints a target on your back. Eventually somebody expressed concern to the assistant principal, who called me in and asked me if everything was okay. When I expressed that I was depressed/distressed, she tried to get me in touch with a mental health professional, but unbeknownst to her due to some policy in place between the school and the hospital, this was codified as a mental health emergency or something and I was basically mandated to be removed in an ambulance on a stretcher. When I got to the hospital I was required to change into a hospital gown and had my belongings seized. I was given a psych eval, and because I answered honestly when asked if I had suicidal thoughts, I was involuntarily detained for a week or so. This was against the wishes of myself, any of the school faculty, and my legal guardians -- it was ostensibly mandatory, with no recourse whatsoever, because I said yes to having suicidal thoughts. In the psych ward we were deprived of basic amenities on the grounds that they could be used to self harm and were treated like cattle by staff who aren't paid enough to give a shit, the only mental health professional on staff was a pharmacologist aka pill pusher, and because American hospitals only care about throughput we were just told to be positive and take pills and we'd be let out sooner. Basically, prison. In all, the experience left me way worse off because I was effectively punished for even acknowledging that I was in distress, let alone seeking help. I was not made any less depressed or suicidal, if anything moreso, I was only taught to never admit it. It took me over a decade to really undo that damage, and if I hadn't cultivated a support network in the meantime I'd probably be dead.
I'm not sure if this process is mandated on a federal level, but I know that at least where I live it is mandatory for any mental health professional to report a person who appears to be "a danger to themselves or others," and the hospitals are ostensibly mandated to detain said person with no recourse whatsoever, while often doing nothing beyond medicating them and telling them not to do it again.

Even if you don't believe in the individual's fundamental right to die, there needs to be a place where suicide is okay to talk about without getting punished for it.

i guess I'll say this. I understand where you're coming from in all this, because I've dealt with similar experiences. I honestly don't disagree with your story because I've had something like that happen but kinda opposite. The doctors really believed that I was suicidal now because I tried killing myself about a year ago since I was in that "program". They basically said since i was suicidal then, I'm basically suicidal now and put me on assignment work and refused to let me to socialize with my peers.
so, i'll say this. people should be able to discuss suicide, death, etc freely on whatever platform deems fine. however, i do find it weird to have a xenforo site with threads on "how 2 kill yourself". i honestly do get both sides of the argument but in a perfect society, people who have mental issues should get help, the help tries to... help, and we will go on from there.
maybe i'm bringing emotion into it but it's a bit hard to do that when it's a subject you care about deeply
If you haven't noticed, you are the subject of international major media. It's not unreasonable to ask why a major media outlet found someone to be newsworthy. I didn't say a single word to any of those British journalists before they did their thing. If you actually have an issue with what they published, you can obviously contact their editor. But you'd rather keyboard warrior under an alias on a back alley forum.

What do you expect people to refer to as past statements of yours about the forum, considering the only on-record statements you gave were:
1) your brother runs the site
2) your mother is not your mother
and
3) that your life would be 'ruined' by putting your name in a news piece
So are those the statements you expect people to use given no one reads this forum except people who grew up on 4chan like everyone here.

The BBC and the Daily Mail are hardly trusted organizations nor should they really be concerned about a citizen of a foreign country nation, never mind trying to harass them for answers.
