I've been rereading the relevant sections, and it's muddled even in order. Harper keeps acting like she just wants the whole thing to go away, while Cross is the one who is blunt but calm when it comes to admitting the truth, and Cross is the one who concedes Wu is trans first.

The incident in question where it appears Randi isn't talking about Wu refers to the spat between Chobitcoin and Wu, and it is fuzzy in places, but they openly acknowledge Chobit is trans from the get go and they all make no bones about hating Chobit regardless in any event, while trying to avoid dumping on Wu too hard (Cross especially), and based on the lines where they apparently tried to get Chobit to talk to Wu privately (and appear to blindly believe Wu's story about being forced to leave his home), it sounds like they wanted Chobit to quit making their job of stage managing Wu hard, and since they already made clear their belief Chobit was an asshole, trans or not, Harper in any case wanted the whole thing to not happen at all because it made their lives harder.

And, someone correct me if I'm wrong, but Chobitcoin was shat on anyway and treated like a traitor to the tranny community at that point already, so when shit happened, it appears they tried to shore up Wu behind the scenes, who also acted like a dumbass, so I'm still inclined to believe Randi's comments about how being trans is not a shield is referring to both sides at least, if not just Wu.

So, let me see if I got this straight... You went to a "rave", and Daft Punk were there... And the cops knew about it... Yet didn't break it up? I'm not entirely sure Wu knows what a rave is. Perhaps she means she went to gig once with tickets you purchased from ticketmaster. Edgy.

This whole thread is like her whole "no computers in the 80s" shit all over again. Hard to get EDM in 1995? Surely you could have purchased the Hackers original soundtrack in lobby. When all the artists you list are scoring major Hollywood motion pictures, I don't think they qualify as underground. I don't know, maybe Mississippi really is 10 years behind the rest of the world like Wu portrays it.

My recollection of 1995 is that was the year that Jungle was actually massive. That probably would have scared Young Republican Flynt though, too many of those damn darkies. Best stick to nice safe whiteboy acts like Orbital and pretend they're dangerous.

Quick fact check, underground Daft Punk "rave" culture has been essentially a tranny-majority audience, since when? 90s clublife was trans-positive and progressive?

I'm sure none of the drugged up and drunk people at actual underground music venues would have beat some girl they found to be concealing a dick in the 90s, or would have been upset, nah, those underground music connoisseurs are obviously too cultured for violence.

John Flynt was always a anti social loser who never went to any popular event. His bullshitting is as transparent as ever.

Since people know where she lives, google maps should get you a good deal of information.. I don't know how long they lived there, otherwise some archive of house-sale sites could give you that stuff as well (I don't know how land-registration works in the US though, but that's another resource.)

Miguel/Katherine has no future as an academic except in a really shit university or community college. I've read three of his essays and listened to one of his lectures and they were all awful. None deserve to be categorized as social science because they lack any supporting empirical evidence. Miguel just presents ill-fitting analogies and metaphors--like his favorite the Möbius strip--and pretends he has demonstrated some matter conclusively.

He delivers his idiocy with a faux British accent so I can't see even competent sociologists--Miguels PhD is in sociology--taking him seriously. He is also a science denialist and dismisses any results from evolutionary psychology that don't agree with his political ideology as Social Darwinism. So his critique isn't substantive--which you would expect it to be from a competent academic--but just labeling which parallels the SJW behavior of labelling an interlocutor as racist, sexist, etc rather than actually rebutting an argument with counter-argument and/or empirical evidence.

If Miguel continues along this trajectory he will have other academics laughing at him behind his back.

Does anyone want to see more digging done on Cross? I read a bunch of her writings back in the day and I can share some info on her roots if there's interest.

Oh haven't you heard? Back in the nineties there were abandoned warehouses all over the place, that were brimming with nightlife, since the man had outlawed fun in that dire time. They were full of the most progressive people, who were listening to EDM all the time and being generally awesome. They all knew Wu and congratulated her each time on her upcoming journalism-business-game-design-cartoonist career and that she was a proud, independent and honest-to-god woman. The main reason why she was so popular, was that the women-raping, gay-beating, trans-killing cops didn't storm the clubs Wu visited. You see, this was because of her legendary dance-offs with Steves Jobs. While Jobs tried his best Turtleneck moves, Wu always beat him while dancing to Madonna's "Like a Virgin" and Cindi Lauper's "Girls Just Want to Have Fun". After each dance-off everyone stood up and applauded her, when she sent Jobs home crying - even D.J. Einstein.

...also Wu still claims to be born in 1980, so the only years she could have witnessed club nightlife was part of 1998 and 1999. And I have no clue, if you need to be 21 to enter a club in Mississippi.

You're forgetting about Frank's alleged high school fake ID printing business after his adoption parents spent thousands of dollars on the latest laminated printer so he could throw all the fun high school parties with beer and have friends.
