It did. The current developers of the game (same people as before under a different studio without Alex Ahad or Mike Z) recently imposed several censorship revisions on the animation frames, parts of the story art, the concept art, and went so far as to remove certain pieces of content that were originally put into the game as fundraiser rewards. Lots of people were really upset with these changes, and the developers justified it as "making the game less controversial and more inclusive." This is all happening at the same time as them finally putting in new player characters (Annie, Umbrella, Black Dahlia, and Marie), even though the recent changes have almost completely eroded any goodwill long-time Skullgirls fans had for the developers (review bombings on Steam, game losing spot in FG tournaments, et cetera).

Personally, I had a feeling something wasn't right with the developers when it was revealed that Alex Ahad - the creator and originator of the entire Skullgirls universe - was fired from the studio and subsequently sued for wrongful termination. The way Mike Z was ostracized by his own friends and co-workers made things worse (especially with what we know now from Mike's side of the story, as documented in the ongoing lawsuit between him and two of his fellow game developers). Most video essays suck, but this new one that Inside your walls just mentioned is a pretty solid recap and analysis of what happened.

I have no clue how you guys feel about Technicals, but he did a video on Skullgirls team and MikeZ 's falling out,
going all over the things available for the public. Glad he's pointed out that BunnyAyumi starting a conversation
about gay sex as a first interaction was inappropriate.

I sincerely hope MikeZ, despite being an autistic sperg wins the

TL;DR Mike is a self-admitted autist who's been able to handle it most of the time throughout his career. His opportunistic co-workers and "friends" seized the right opportunity for him to spill his spaghetti to seize Skullgirls from him and form their own studio. Lawsuits underway, game suffers plummeting review scores and sales, and ultimately Alex Ahad was definitely the smart one by missing all this bullshit.

I watched the most of the video so I bit the bullet.

Basically the video is for the first part focused on the whole ordeal that caused the Mike Z to get laid off and Lab Zero to implode, it featured what I think was his girlfriend reading the logs between him and the cosplay roastie (I don't like this thot so I have no issue using this term) that was the catalyst for everything, then other part of the video is him focusing on Mariel Cartwright.

Some interesting details I didn't know about Mariel is the fact that her father, Randy Cartwright worked as a Disney animator that was appointed with teaching Japanese Disney branch on how to draw and animate Disney style stuff. SFO talked about her history on the project and how she even got her role in SG as an animator, which was basically through her being friends with Alex Ahad and helping with first iteration SG as a 2D pixel game during their college days. Alex mainly hired because she was his friend and they both liked fanservice-y female characters with big boobs and Francesca (the other person behind Mike Z's excommunication) was brought by Mike Z himself because he considered her as a friend he could trust due to knowing her since 2005.

I'll get shit for this, but I don't feel bad for Mike Z. Don't get me wrong, he should win against all of the people who screwed him over, but he kinda did it to himself (reminder he tried to get with Cristina Vee just to get denied on stream years ago). I wanted to love this game when got it back in 2012, but god damn this was a shit show I wish I never bought. I should have seen it coming when the Slipshine artist got involved, and I found out that guy was a creep.

I only know about Mariel based on 2 YouTube documentaries (SFO/Dev and Technical). I don't know anything about her personal sexual history but it sounds like in her past, she drew pretty degenerate art. That's why she end up on the development team in the first place.

And then either she wants to erase her past to break into the mainstream as a progressive (but she's still degenerate), or she is ashamed of her past degeneracy so she had let's call it degenerate's remorse (like troll's remorse). Whichever the case, she uses that as an excuse to censor Skullgirls and retroactively destroy the product you paid years ago.
