Has Rekieta actually said that he has narcolepsy or is that just the fake excuse he is using to take modafinil? Because that drug in particular is really commonly abused amongst real and wannabe high-achievers.

Most of the hard core alcoholics I've known tend to do stimulants along with their alcohol. The main reason why they do it is that it allows them to keep drinking for protracted periods. Alcohol alone will eventually become debilitating. You'll fall asleep/into a drunken stupor after a certain amount of drinking.

Add in a side dose of cocaine or amphetamine and it'll keep you on your feet, allow you to keep on drinking. That said, most of the boozers I've known who adopt this strategy have tended to be social drinkers. They're out clubbing all night. They aren't drinking alone in their own houses, generally.

That said, Rekieta is attempting to stay up all night streaming, so perhaps he's doing the stimulants so he can keep going there despite the large quantities of booze he's consuming?

It does what it says on the tin. It's not physically addictive, it rarely has serious side effects, the only reason he would need to be careful with his Modafinil is if he's drinking to excess, because, like all hardcore stimulants and alcohol, it masks a lot of the effects of being shithoused. This is specifically why they warn you away from binge drinking on it, because just like the old four lokos, mixing Modafinil with liquor basically makes blackout juice.

Thanks for the info. I don't really have any kind of knowledge about the drug, or its interactions. It just seemed interesting while I was checking some old Nick videos. I think Nick has a drinking problem, made worse by his use of Modafinil, and he just rationalizes it away somehow. He definitely is the type of personality that can rationalize anything. From his groomer friend to believing that all men are gay.
