I used to play Spreadsheets in Space so im entertained by the most boring shit imaginable but this video was genuinely painful to watch. It sounds like he just sat down infront of a microphone, hit record and talked non-stop for 6 hours all in one take. EVE was never worth playing to begin with unless you're already part of a corp. The solo experience is incredibly painful and you might as well play Homeworld because the game offers literally nothing else that an MMO would normally offer in terms of interactions with other players.

That was the funniest thing. I remember seeing the demo of that at one of the fanfests and the presenter explaining how it was going to be used as a dataset to train machine learning systems. There were a few issues with it, the first being that there was no reference data for any non-technical people who might be looking at the images.

This shouldn't be a major issue but there were two things that made it worse. The first was that the rewards and how "right" your answer was considered was based on the average response of other users. The second was the American education system, the only thing people really knew about cellular biology is "the mitochondria is the powerhouse of the cell".

As you can imagine this led to the only correct answer being mitochondria for literally any image. I tried to mention this during the fanfest demo and how they were going to get a ton of garbage info at best, but it took them about 6 months to figure this out themselves.

I think the saddest thing, is that switching to the streaming content is such a wildly better move from a financial perspective that it would be idiotic to even consider continuing to make documentaries that it isn't even worth considering, and I think part of him knows it.

I have been viewing a few of his streams, specifically on the birthday one, he ended up raising $7k. That was one day. There is also one dude, who will straight up drop $500 out of nowhere because he is that big of a furfag. That is already a massive incentive, and it's not even counting the regular subs, as well as the sound effects viewers can play that can go for up to $10. They play regularly during streams.

But even bigger than that is the fact that it's easy, and riskless. A big video like this have to make a lot of money to justify what was put into it. All of your ducks are in one boat. Yeah, people can support you on patreon, but that's more of a life preserver. All pf that love turns into hate, because they give that money with the expectation that something comes back out. He doesn't need to give anything back for twitch money, other than barking like a faggot.

A lot of people say the video is "padded out", but you only lose money by not padding it to hell and back. It's a loss to actually make it concise and to the point. That's why every other channel does this shit now.

The free asspats certainly don't help. He's pretty much stated that he's almost divorced himself from his main DTRH audience, which is why he has been so slow to promote anything about his twitch situation there. I'm willing to be he's not even interested in making DTRH anymore. And ultimately, that is going to be all the youtube people are interested in. Why pander to a demograhpic of people that will do boring things, like actually ask you to make quality videos, when you can have people treat your dick like a god because you said "uwu"?
