South Park + Its Political Sperging (?) Thread - Season 26 ongoing!

I have never heard of another case of someone temporarily turning into a pedophile by way of stimulant abuse.
don't know about pedos but plenty of people have used stims or other hard drugs as an excuse for non-straight behavior. over on /fit/ they admit to taking a steroid that they meme turns people gay, and other places will say the only reason they beat their girlfriend or wife was because of a drug addiction.

Fun fact: Stephen King's book "It" features a scene where several children have group sex. There is one girl in this group, and they all have sex with her, for the purpose of some supernatural bullshit. Stephen King has never been canceled or effectively ridiculed for writing such a scene, and It is one of his best known works. This scene was vastly changed for the movie.
He said it was a way of showing that the kids were passing into adulthood or some shit. Which is just a goddamn shitty explanation for one.

For two, there were far easier ways to do that that DIDN'T involve an underage girl letting all her friends run a train on her in the sewer. Have one of the kids steal a bottle of scotch from his dad, they all take their first drink together.

No, the far more likely explanation is that King is just a sicko. The dude has issues that can only be solved with a high speed projectile.

Yeah, that's an excuse used for the sake of coping. I heard the same thing about mdma, and out of all the times I've used that it never made me want to fuck a dude. Heard the same thing about guys in prison who claim they only do it because of where they are, and other inmates who aren't about it go 'wtf? just say you're gay, come on no one's buying that.'

As for all the anti-woke terminally online jackoffs claiming that the Panderverse is some kind of culture war win for them....isn't that kind of proving South Park right about this whole 'one side feeds the other' point they were trying to make? I got tired of seeing those YT videos titled "DISNEY IS DONE" over some tweet years ago. It's a grift, it's just as lazy and it's ALSO pandering to the anti-woke. Like that one video that got posted a week before the special came out: it had no sources, no news that supported the claim, it went on for way too long with the guy droning about South Park's history of upsetting Hollywood and so on. It's so obvious that Youtubers and right leaning journos are trying to capitalize on outrage from the left so much that they became what they hate: creatively bankrupt politicos latching onto entertainment.

Second, where is the proof that Disney went this route to get ESG money? One would think they were (at one point) so damn rich that they wouldn't need any of that. And it hasn't worked in their favor either, they're losing investors and the stock price hasn't been this low since 2014. Looks more likely that they got all woke because the people in charge are just really bad at their job and did what they were told without thinking, or they actually seriously do believe in all of that. Or maybe it is like how South Park said, they read the hate mail they were getting, got upset and doubled down because 'fuck these right wing assholes, I'm in charge dammit! God I hate my dad so fucking much!' You know....typical Los Angeles morons.

One thing i've noticed about the recent Marvel expose is how at some point in the comments everyone talks about this south park episode. while the episode will fade away the "make them women, make them gay" mantra will forever stick around. its like membaberries, people keep the joke around long after the satirical nature of it passes. People are fucking pissed about Blade's alleged sidelining for a couple of cunts. The Marvels flopping next week won't help. 100% shot people will bring that up.

I finally got around watching The Panderverse and it was really disappointing IMO *sigh*i usually defend and enjoy the late seasons of the show and I really liked the first specials like the COVID one but during this one I finally agreed with people that say that South Park has lost its edge.

All the characters sound the same and function identically as the most overt mouthpieces for Matt and Trey.... The message was good and the usual "both sides are idiots" spiel but it wasn't that funny aside from a couple of scenes.

I LOVED black empowered woman butters singing Loo Loo Loo.:lit:

I just watched the special. It was okay, but Matt and Trey are beginning to show their age. Spam this "both sides sure are gay" argument at me all you want, but one side is entrenched in most major media corporations and is actively engaged in shitting up franchises I enjoy, one side sells hats and makes irritating youtube videos I can easily ignore. They are not the same. People used to make this argument that South Park could never pick a side(mostly because Matt and Trey didnt fellate their side specifically), but now that criticism seems to ring true.

But it's still South Park, and like most of modern South Park, it managed to be notable by being slightly better than anything currently available in a sea of DEI-fueled horseshit. But if you think Kathleen Kennedy is gonna sue Matt and Trey, you're a certified retard.

I agree with everyone that this isn’t the BIG win the Fandom Menace thinks it is.

Ultimately the message was that The Fandom types are very dumb to think Disney is making bad movies on purpose, hence the reason parallel Kathleen Kennedy was Cartman. They are saying only an insane person would self sabotage that way ( nevermind the fact that woke Zealots would 100% do it for the message. And they have admitted to it before like She Hulk writers did.)

They are saying Kathleen Kenny is actually a very “competent“ filmmaker that simply tried to pander too hard to counter those toxic fans.

They even had Cartman act out of character and apologize to Katleen Kenedy. You know the same kid that’s so spiteful he literally ruined his future. And who was about to doom the world to suffer COVID out of pure selfishness before Stan intervened? Yeah right, if anyone is pandering it must be Trey and Matt.

…The message is completely absurd. Ultimately it was yet another fence sitting take from SouthPark that simply blames the fans For complaining and escalating the situation.

Nevermind the fact That Disney has been buying reviews, and doing dirty tactics like Fan baiting. It’s just toxic fans being too sensible according to South Park.

Put a chick in this thread and make her gay!

In all seriousness, yes, Trey and Matt are the biggest fence sitters that's ever sat on a fence in entertainment. The fact that they're too afraid to go after one particular side should tell you where their overall stance is, considering that they used Panderverse in an attempt to gaslight actual fans of these properties with "very fine people on both sides" argument. There's one particular side that a lot in the entertainment industry are afraid to talk about, and while it doesn't make me worried as much as it should, for those who care about the medium of film and movies, they care a lot. It's just sad at how far everything has fallen, and Trey and Matt are the canaries in the coal mine here. The soft approach they gave to Kathleen Kennedy and Disney in general just tells me that they're pretty much done pushing the limits.

Remember when Cartman fed a bully his parents? Yeah. This is supposed to be the same kid that apologizes to the woman who is single handedly ruining a lot of modern entertainment (if not by her hand, but her overall influence). Yeah. No. I'm done with South Park, fellas. I can't anymore.

Cartman has been out of character for the last two seasons. He's just a bitch who lets everyone beat him down and humiliate him, and is more infantilized than ever.

Though with the special while it's okay on its own (moral messages aside), I feel people will only remember the shit Cartman Kathleen Kennedy said more than anything else as someone else ITT mentioned.

The thing is, she isn’t even remotely competent. She spent the first 30 years of her career fondling Lucas’ balls and living in his shadow. Once he got sick of Lucasfilms and signed it away, she finally got her dream of being the big dog in charge of nostalgia, and what did she do? She gave the directing role for the new trilogy of one of the most recognizable series to two hack writers, one of which made pretentious shitty films and directed a few Breaking Bad episodes, and the other’s biggest claim to fame was taking a shit all over Star Trek. And I don’t even need to tell you how Dave Filoni made an entire show about his self insert blow up doll and made it boring, or how Favreu shit all over the one series that people felt was at least semi-middling for the first season. Or the multitude of garbage shows that were unceremoniously dumped on Disney Plus. Kennedy didn’t purposefully make the property bad, she was just retarded enough that she would have fumbled the ball even if she had glued the damn thing to her fingers

I doubt they care. They made a bunch of videos the first weekend of Black Adam's release calling it based and saying it's success showed woke Hollywood was finished, then when they realized it was a flop they just stopped talking about it. After a week their fanbase forgets the last outrage and is onto the next. ("Disney is scared of us! Disney is running! Disney has two weeks left!")

I wonder if they could do something with the Israel thing. Like suddenly Cartman's antisemitism becomes hip and trendy and they have him doing college lectures or something. I guess they kind of did it already with the Mel Gibson one, but it's actually happening in parts of the country now.

Or just have Cartman start something in colleges

I wouldn't have had a problem with Cartman acting out of character for the sake of character growth, but it's always followed up with some lame joke. For instance, in that scene from the Pandemic Special where Cartman spares the pangolin, Matt and Trey's TDS overrode character consistency and decided to make a joke about how "Even Cartman is not as bad as Drumpf!!!!"

Indeed. To be fair, while the episode’s plot didn't favor the fandom menance, the memes absolutely did.

In the end nobody is going to care about how this episode ultimately blames the fans for complaining, and “Forcing Disney” hand”. Because Trey and Matt gave them a lot of ammo. Specially jokes like “make it more lame and gay.”

But, again, this episode ignores the elephant in the room, ultimately just giving a hollow fence sitting message.

The "Actually both sides!" thing is getting old. Yeah, maybe both sides have issues, but when one side massively dwarfs the other both in its size, reach, and what it's doing, maybe going "But actually they both suck!" isn't the way.

Sure, Disney keeps ruining franchises, attacks their audience, will fire people with conservative views if they get ratted out, keeps having flops due to idiocy, insisting on making everything political, and having creepy crossdressers harass kids at their park...

But aren't the people whining about it online equally as bad?
