Big mistake. Nothing good can ever come to you from engaging with the media. They hate the site and are actively smearing you, you're not going to convince them otherwise. I tested this out myself, and all users told me they were more depressed because they had nowhere else to go. They were not addicted but no choices are available apart from SS. One the big separations between professionals studying suicide and the moral crusaders: the former caution against the social contagion aspect of suicide that can be caused by providing details, like in news reports following celebrity suicides and resulting bumps. The latter don't care about the consequence, so long as they can stand on the bodies and say "Look! We need to do something! Aren't I a good person for talking about this awful, awful thing?"

If we operate off the logic that using SS is a direct cause of death by suicide, then by Tentacrul's video leading more people than ever to the site, his ultimate result is causing the deaths of more people (who would, by this logic, have never committed suicide without SS), while directly profiting from it (look at how many people gave donations in the comments of his video.) He's done effectively zero to stop the site or its users, and made blood money by pushing people towards it. And yet, I don't see any journalists going and writing articles about how profiteering off of the suicidal through Youtube is morally repugnant, or sending reporters to sit outside his home. All thanks to the costume of morality. It's just absurd.

I said something similar to this around the time Tentacrul did his video. He felt the need to come here and morally grandstand about how I'm a bad person or whatever, but objectively, he lead more people to the site that most likely ended their lives. On top of that, a good portion of his audience are most likely minors, and the Youtube algorithm freely promoted this video with the website to millions of people.

Then they get to say that "oh this site has a bunch of minors on it" when it was these idiots that pushed minors towards the website in the first place! They get a pass for doing evil shit under the guise of morality and they're trying their hardest to frame me as the bad guy in the situation.

I lost my sibling to suicide when I was a young person, and my mother's mental health took a huge nosedive - she started taking paroxetene afterwards based on her doctor's recommendation, and the same doctor told her she could never quit it. Well, she recently had to go cold turkey as it caused an awful brain condition after all these years (it could have caused a coma or killed her outright we later learned), and now she's incredibly depressed and undergoing withdrawal. Sufficed to say, I'm not a fan of suicide. It's an inherently selfish act that leaves huge devastation for those left behind.

On the other hand, venting your worries and concerns can help. As someone who's flirted with suicidal thoughts, the posts on that forum chill my blood and make me think twice - it can serve as a deterrent as well as an accelerant.

As always, fuck journalists but not literally because they have AIDS.

I am still glad to have the knowledge to do it if I ever actually need to, such as because of a catastrophic decline in health.
