Also they replaced the "Thank you for being a mass murderer" with Armin declaring he'll meet Eren again in Hell for inspiring him to see the outside world. Also some of the Eren dickriding was removed in general from 139.

Isayama or MAPPA really did their best to salvage it.

They also made the buildings more futuristic. Compare it to the manga where Paradis looks more modern-dayish.

Yeah they made Paradis look like a cyberpunk city when it got nuked.

Either to show that war would happen much later since it almost looked like centuries passed, or to emphasize the whole "cycle of violence" thing given 9/11 basically happened and it's a different thing the world is fighting over.

They removed 2 lines from the incel rant, removed arming thanking eren for comitting genocide and eren saying he forgot why he did this, and also made it so that paradis is destroyed hundreds of years in the future instead of 1 generation.

Otherwise its more or less the same, they left the fucking bird reincarnation and they left him killing his own mother for some unfathomable reason.

Looking at it again, I don’t think the animators were intentionally going for a Eren bin Laden moment there; a jet blew the helicopter up. Either that or it’s somehow bigger than a skyscraper, given the distance. It honestly made me think for a minute the fire popping in was sloppily added in rather than it being another way to display passage of time.

I don’t know why they changed this, considering that the Eldians were already being genocided over some pigs two thousand goddamn years ago.

Did you find the incel rant more pathetic? I was annoyed that they cut some of the more hillarious lines from it. The gist is there but some of the raw comedy is lost.

It’s mainly the facial expressions and how his voice actor made him sound like he cried more.
 
Armin's awkward "thanks for being a mass murderer for our sake" line being changed was expected but it would've been better to just reword it than to put that dumb shit about going to hell together.

I don't know the names of the locations but he's referring to when Eren killed that leader who was rallying nations against Paradis. Zeke helped Eren do that, which did technically ruin the 0.00001% chance of temporary peace they could've achieved.

Honestly, the whole peace thing is just dumb. You'd be better off betting on a peace between the Jews and Muslims that's also been raging for thousands of years.

NGL, “I’ll see you again in Hell” is a pretty hardcore line, even if it’s cliche. Even after the basement, I still think there was a way for this to have a decent ending.

Armin still committed a few war crimes, and besides that he blames himself for Eren’s bullshit by showing him the book about the outside world. Anime Eren emphasized on the idea that he did it all to reach that scenery more than anything else.

I was surfing the internet on my usual places and I saw a lot of AoT threads and discussion, even on boards and forums that are unrelated. Thinking it's not mere coincidence I did a quick investigation and found out that the anime reached the cuck ending.
The absolute meltdown when we had the manga ending was great, but it seems, the anime ending triggered such an intense butthurt, that it's echoing across the internet.
Honestly I'm glad that such a popular anime did this. I am of the opinion that the medium has to crush and burn and from the ashes something new should arise. Looking at anime now, versus anime 20 years ago, it's shocking how much the medium has degenerated.
