It was a strange push. He promoted it halfheartedly on his show with lines like "Black Rifle Coffee is run by liberals! Buy coffee from someone that doesn't hate you!", but never really did much more than that to push it. I don't even think he brewed a cup live on the show. And then one day, it just quietly disappeared and no one talked about it.

This is what happens when someone stumbles upon success instead of earning it (and more importantly don't learn shit from their lucky break), TDS was right time right place and one note, once he tried to keep the grift going he had no fucking idea how to do it, he expects people will just throw money at every single thing he does like they did TDS, instead of him having to put a modicum of effort to sell that idea.
It's also why he will always be a nobody in the scenes he wishes to be somebody in, he'll never grind to get as many chances as possible, he'll just sit on his ass and wait for it to magically happen, like some pedowood producer will just stumble upon his podcast, think it's the funniest shit ever and just give him a contract for 3 seasons of the best comedy a washed out 'prom king' dressed as a cow can put out.

At this point it would be less embarrassing for Dax to choke to death on tranny cock than to continue on in his shambolic existence.
Dax crying that Eric says he's too busy to promote everyone's shit, seems reasonable to me, he asked a crowd for help with a project and is now focused alot on something the community trusted him with and put value into.
It's a perfect example of outrage built on just a first rage filled impression without thinking deeper about it and not allowing something to just be a possible understandable mistake, no it has to be knowing greed and evil to his fellow creators on Eric's part.
It's also funny seeing comments ask how Eric has time for reply videos and not promotion, if you think about it to promote someone you need to know enough about them and the product to trust them, ironically they're arguing that Eric should just be mindlessly promoting tons of things in an arbitrary appeal to promotion of the less successful as a good in and of itself that ought to be maximized for, while also throwing out "what's your favorite part of isom?" with tons of feigned moral indignation as a slight against what he sees as people mindlessly promoting Eric.
That and someone else seething thst Eric should have hired a manager, because Eric isn't allowed to run his business directly his way because dick and Vito imagined this as the biggest problem so Eric ought to have maximized to appeasing the hypothetical futures whims of the pedophile crew.
So you have a question with different reasonable answers "how much of Eric's time needs to be focused on promotion vs running the business his backers trusted him with?" And instead of allowing nuance their rage filled brains just immediately hop on whatever extreme makes Eric the worst under that view, and they refuse to see it as a question people can get wrong or have a subpar answer to but in a goodwill effort, and they refuse to consider thst maybe they're incorrect, they have all the answers and Eric needs crucified if he doesn't read their minds.

Reminder that even Maddox managed to put out a comic book, and as far as I know he didn't beg for 80k beforehand.

If I recall right, his comic was being made before the concept of crowdfunding, so he used the older model of pre-orders.
It also helped that it was made after The Alphabet of Manliness, so Maddox had a few connections and capital established to push it out.

2004, and he had a few hundred copies ready to go, you could buy and have them signed at comic-con.
Indie comics are released all the time, it's not hard to go from 'finished' drawings and story to print in limited numbers, but to do that you have to have actually finished writing and illustrating the thing to begin with.
On the flip side once that is done I heard that there's this guy in Texas called Eric who's really good at that step, I've seen him get called a "fulfilment warehouse" even, I'm sure they could get him to handle print and distribution.

I definitely know fans of him but thats because they just remember him from the dr.phil video from 20 years ago, no one that's learned what he's been up to the past 5 years is a fan. According to @Null the only reason NP2 shut down was because of Josh Moon's trolls and he is 100% responsible for Dick losing his banking stuff during that whole arc. And only some PPP/Godwinson loving loser would suggest Dick was using shady Chinese banks and is not a chad in a barbie dream mansion but a pedo loving fury living in a crack shack in Glendale. I don't watch dick except for short clips because I can't stand him and viewing his existence causes me pain so I might be wrong about this. Is it possible that vito is the one who actually hates July and dick feels literally nothing for or about him and is just purely doing this for content for his show? I can see vito being jealous or pissed that he has "I am a pedophile'd" himself out of ever having any support structure and now some nobody is making millions of comics but dax? Juju? If it's jealousy and just jealousy then why Eric July? Not another comedian or podcaster? Is it literally just because he was successful quickly? It feels almost arbitrary. I get the feeling this is Vito's beef and dick is just adopting it for the show.
