The funniest part is actually the fact that the Taliban had one of their citizens in custody and the British government when negotiating his release was demanding woman's rights. So miles stayed for two extra months. The British government apparently then used this to virtue signal on social media. Imagine arresting a foreigner and then his government tells you to change your entire worldview as part of giving him back to them.

Never do the field test, just offer to do a breathalyzer or let them take you to the station for the blood draw. The field test cannot help you, it can only hurt. If your shoelace comes untied and you trip over it while trying to walk a straight line, congratulations, you're impaired and you're going to jail. If you walk the line perfectly it's literally meaningless and the cop will just lie in court and say you struggled with it anyway.

The reason the cops want to do it is for that reason. Even if you're not legally impaired by BAC alone (0.08 or higher on the breathalyzer) they can still tag you with the DUI if you seem impaired, since alcohol isn't the only substance that can impair you.

Free countries require charges taken to trial to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt. Field breathalyzers don't count for beyond a reasonable doubt and the cost to keep their police fleet with accuracy beyond a reasonable doubt would be extraordinary. So generally the by the book dui involves some level of field sobriety test to confirm what is likely obvious, a relatively inexpensive breathalyzer with an acceptable margin of error in the field to get a number range and a expensive blood or breathalyzer that has nearly no margin of error which is usually very close to the field breathalyzer, but it would stand during discovery.

I believe breathalyzers can generate false positives. Should such a stop escalate to a trial, having both a breathalyzer and a record of a test administration covers the state's ass.

Just now watching the latest MATI and the Eve coverage is pathetic. Messes up all the names and fails to mention that the Mittani was Me Tooed by proxy five or six years after coming out as a huge fucking leftist. Imagine Null trying to describe Kiwifarms on his podcast, "the Kiwiforums, run by Joshua 'Mull' Noon. What kind of stupid name is Mull anyway?"
