PPP really is a treat to listen to once he gets going. That was a great rant tearing into Nick for bitching about having a work ethic. He was genuinely annoyed that Nick looks down on the 9-5 life and doesn't appreciate that it's honest work, it's the reason people like him and Nick can even entertain having a streaming career and that they live or die at the whim of these working Joe's.

If it was just limited to commenting on Nick and what he said, it'd be fine

I think the sperging over Nick's Christianity is bang on topic here
I really hope I didn't come off as preachy or derail relevant discussion. I've intentionally stayed out of the religious discussion until now specifically because I don't want my personal beliefs to taint the conversation. I'm a Greek Orthodox, which is a very small minority in the US, so I don't really feel like I should have a say on what is or isn't acceptable in mainstream American Protestant circles, with one exception: the divinity of Christ.

The Nicene Creed, created in 325 AD, is very specific, and ALL mainstream Christian denominations, regardless of doctrine, adhere to the tenets in the Creed, whether they are aware of the Creed or not. It is the fundamental basis of organized Christianity. The entire reason I brought it up and stood so stiffly on the issue is because Nick brought up that he was a Christian during the Sidescrollers interview, and people still give him the benefit of the doubt that he is a "Christian," even if just some weird bastard heretic.

I just wanted to be very clear, that I have a lot of knowledge on this subject specifically, and I can say, definitively, that Nick is NOT any kind of Christian, heresy or otherwise. When he claims he is a Christian it is a lie. He is lying, full stop.

Apologies to @Himedall All-seeing Waifu if I came off as abrasive.

Nick's image used to be 'small law firm in central Minnesota'. He captured the disaffected lower middle-class, the blue collar workers, and the tradesmen who worked long, hard hours and felt betrayed by the government and society who denigrated them. The socially ostracised late-night workers, weebs, and nerds felt safe to come in as well. His family man image even endeared him to quite a few Gen X and Millenials.

Where Nick lost them was the shift he made from small town living to big time streamer. I grew up around a lot of people who are very much working class, and there is definitely a camaraderie of shared struggle that pulls them together. They share a lot of triumphs and sorrows as a group, and there is genuine happiness (with the usual jealousy) when one of them succeeds. The 'I wish on day you won't be here' from A Beautiful Mind has some truth to it.

Nick started showing off the wealth and extravagance of his new lifestyle and very much disconnected from his perceived roots. We know now that he was always a trust fund kid, but many saw him as the neighbour next door you could sit next to at the pub. Once he lost that, he lost his most loyal support and traded it for the more upper class petty rivalries and jealousies of white collar office culture and political grift.

No offence taken. You are fine, and I think the thread has been good about having a balance of topics (minus those who get the boot in short order)--even with so many new participants and lurkers in recent weeks. I was just expressing the sentiment that I hope we can continue to laugh together as Nick provides the entertainment without us having to create thread drama for entertainment.

New and old people are mingling in the thread, and a new balance will be formed.

Are there any sizeable religious groups out there that believe Christ was just a really good teacher without acknowledging his divinity and still classifying themselves as "Christian?" Genuinely curious. I know some of the ancient gnostic groups played around with such an idea, but they were all wiped out by the Catholics centuries ago.
Usually, if someone follows the same God as Christ, but doesn't acknowledge his divinity, they're shoehorned in with a group that Rekieta's nose would not stand out in.
I thought those were called "Protestants"

You could feel the rage from PPP- this was genuine, the real deal. Unlike Ralph's bullshit wrastling rage (which PPP invokes more often than not), this was the real deal. You could tell because he was tipping his hat to some of the shit jobs he's had, some which I don't think have come up before.

It'd be a shame if the Kino Casino stopped a-lawging Rackets, fucker has earned every barb thrown at him. More than he has earned anything else in his life.

He may not have earned where he came from but he's earned where he's going. Not that he'd ever realize it himself, much less admit it.

First time I saw him was on Nick's stream and then once more in another of Nick's stream, both times obviously being super obnoxious and antagonistic. He annoyed me greatly since I was a fan of Nick then but even so I still recognized him as a pretty good orator. Never seems to trip and always something to say despite everything he says was designed to piss me off. Now Duncan, that dude has 2 giant pots of spaghetti in his pants.

You know what, I think PPP might be an even better talker than Nick, just that at the time I thought PPP had bullshit for 'weapons' when 'fighting' Nick. Rewatching that stream might be worth while now that I know Nick is full of shit too.

Nick, my guy, my dude. I know, I know... you're "a Christian", we're all just "obsessed weirdos looking for an Internet daddy", I hear you, I really do, but Nick, buddy, pal, balldo: Seek God.

Also, (lmao, lol) you definitely watched your wife (kek, haha, 🤣) get plowed by Jamacians.

Nick is going to be on with coomalot tonight.
He's really turning into

The main difference between "old PPP" and "new PPP" is that old PPP had this asinine and obnoxious objection to people making money on the Internet. He leaned into it pretty hard during both his appearances on Nick's show. I think it was an issue that rubbed people the wrong way, even as he made valid points against Masterson and others. Once he dropped that bullshit, and accepted the fact he wants to make money too, it became much easier to take him seriously. Even if the donation readings on the KC are obnoxious as all hell.

I don't mind people getting paid for their online content. Never have. Just be entertaining. Right now, PPP is, and Nick isn't (except to laugh at).

All the sperging over Nick's Christianity gets exhausting. I know this won't play well with here in this thread, but it is pretty lame to complain that the guy who got his start as an off-shoot of Dax Herrera doesn't represent the Christian ideal. Like, no shit.
I will say, if I remember right, that his original audience when he started gaining e-fame was more "Christian Conservative" and he definitively played into that crowd whether he was one or not. I remember hearing about him from Jim Metokur so he gained that crowd too. Now, he plays to the Dick/Vito goons with his swinging/infidelity, intoxication, and borderline pedophilic diaper jokes. The questions are, has he changed? Is he showing his true colors? Or, does he just change personalities to earn more money (Grift)?

From all the grifting accusations Dax, Vito and Nick like to throw at Eric, it’s pretty clear who the real grifter is.

Rekieta's arguments about religion appear designed to troll his in-laws and to search for justification for things he would do anyway. I think its relevant to the extent that it involves his relationship with his family and community but mainly to the extent that changes in what he says about this topic portend about being more open about his behavior in the future.

Just as a show of hands, what place is worse for the awful hot takes/Locals cringe moments? The kitchen or the hot tub?
Kitchen. The poststreams from the kitchen have had the premium quality seethe and DSP's prestreams pale in comparison. The ones in the hot tub are not the same though it's horrifying to think that he may be naked in some of them. I am excluding the Nashville Playboy Airbnb where he looked close to a Matthew Perry moment because that was while he was on a trip.

Sean is a fucking beast by comparison. If he's angry at Andrew, he must be positively livid with Sean. Sean gives like no fucks.
I would put the chances that Sean comes back on Rekieta's stream at around 1%. I'm guessing Nick's so angry he doesn't even want to mention him anymore.

I would put the chances that Andrew comes back on slightly higher, but not much more. Maybe 10-20%. I think the issue with him is that Andrew is a drama hound and if he's prompted, he might just drop everything about Hedonism and all the rest on Rekieta's stream. I don't think Sean would do that.

It's not my thing at all, but I genuinely value the religious discussion on here. I'm always surprised at the depth and the diversity of people's comments and I invariably learn stuff about a whole load of areas that I know next to nothing about.

Perhaps Christians are too damn polite. Nobody else cares about displaying their value system on the discussion here. It's kind of impossible to conceal if you ask me. Just say your piece and people who are interested will read it, and people who are butthurt will post rainbow stickers.
