All right kiwis. To close my long cycle of unending sperging in this thread I have quite the treat for you that is a very literal kill two birds with one stone. A recommendation of a spoopy channel and a very interesting rabbit hole you might be interested to learn about. Also a delayed Halloween special because this premiered around that time and a reason to not have to talk about analog horror for a while.
Virtual Carbon is very likely a name you are familiar with if you have any cursorial knowledge about the less tardy part of the Backrooms "fandom", as in he is the guy that has been trying to find the OG Backrooms image and has a couple nice videos documenting his findings. Guy doesn't try to go for the overdone horror channel voice but he also isn't overly casual like Wendigoon. There's some very cool stuff you will find in his backlog, I specially like his videos on obscure lost media because what he picked is actually obscure and messed up.
But my second part of the recommendation is my favourite because in case you haven't learned about it yet I'm about to introduce you to one of the most fascinating rabbit holes there is, the So Joana Book. I'm actually surprised I haven't seen any of you talk about it because this to me checks about every box an autism connoisseur is looking for.
Someone finds an old travel book with at least four different cyphers and posts about it in r/RBI kickstarting a story about someone that wants whoever may care to turn their eyes to the Appalachian backdrop and the few dedicated people who have decided to play the game. Cherokee folklore, Stone cutters and the history of 4 different states of the American South.
Is it an ARG? A treasure hunt? Alex in Tennesse Part 2? No one is sure and perhaps the most fascinasting bit is that it seems whoever is behind this is teasing people and creating new puzzles to help them figure out the original cyphers. One of the most important developments involved someone getting in the field and finding a goldmine of clues just by showing up at the right coordinates, so if you are based out of TN, NC, SC or GA you may be able to get the case going just by touching some grass. The best part is that the video is just 3 weeks old and it is already outdated because one of the video cyphers mentioned in the last section was solved last week.
And this made me wonder, why hasn't Wendigoon talked about this if its happening in his backyard? And then I realized, he either doesn't add shit to this or he somehow is on it. So Joana has history of random people randomly advancing the plot by getting way too "lucky" and stumbling upon findings after all. So, who knows if he getting on the action will be just a sequel to his Brown Mountain lights video.
P.S. I don't hold any clues. I'm not a shill just because I'm forcing more eyes into this.
