Yeah, they bought one of those cheap OEM laser engraving kits online that's meant to be integrated by the user with proper protection cases and preferably a safe interlock that shuts the entire thing down when exposed.

Section 230 and all but a sizable portion of their fans are children. This stuff is complicated enough for people in STEM not specifically trained with lasers, let alone an average person. The goggles included in these kits are also shit.

Linus is the sort of guy who built his entire career on the mantra of "building computers is easy, it's just like LEGO for adults" and applied that to everything in his life. That setup a sort of Dunning Kruger effect in his mind where he expects everything in the world to be like that. He just sort of assumes he knows what he's doing because he googled an online article about it.

He is still an impersonation of every single /pol/ user stereotype but the new meme takes pride in that instead of using it as an insult, usually having chuddy strangling trannies or hanging niggers. One catchphrase chudjak is known for is "The West Has Fallen", which has been memed to mean absolutely anything the user wants even if it's not political, usually followed or preceded by "Billions must X(usually "die")".

As you can see, many of these are strangely high quality, a far cry from the days when leftists would post poorly drawn caricatures to "win" arguments(which they still do, but it causes them great asshurt to know that chuds not just embraced the memes but actively improved on them).

I don't understand /pol/, but I will try my best to translate for my understanding.

The caricature was originally conceived as a joke against the El Paso shooter. The Left tried to meme it, but their opposition ran with it and coopted it for themselves. The line he says in the comic is a jab at their pessimism, which was turned into a clever joke about the fall setting.

Did I get it right?

Piggybacking off of this IIRC "chud" originated from a 1984 movie of the same name. In the movie there are humans turned into monsters from radioactive waste referred to as "C.H.U.D"s which is a acronym for Contamination Hazard Urban Disposal. Eventually lefties started calling right wingers chuds after this obscure movie.

More or less. I find it funny that the right can both laugh at their own expense and create something fun when the left throws a jab at them, I have yet to see the left do that to themselves once.

The acronym on the movie poster is Cannibalistic Humanoid Underground Dwellers, which is the usual intended meaning of the epithet.

This entire “CHUD” phenomenon was also used to mock people who were conservative, but don’t seem to understand that the CHUD way of thinking has become a part of life outside of being terminally online on the Internet.

CHUD behavior does not care about your politics. It’s almost human nature at this point.
