Women Metalheads Rise Up

I unironically like Batuska, whatever version, as they helped bring me to the Byzantine Rite, as unintended as it was. And OMG, you can give me all the scouter stickers you want, but the man in this video is just insanely, can't even tell you, yes female coomring here, hot. I would bear all his children, holy shit.
I managed to see the OG band live, just 1 month before they started the ego drama and split up. They've played the whole album back to back, "Yekteníya 3" was obviously, the highlight of the show.

Keeping up with the female-fronted content, another great band.

Also from Greece, Astarte.

F Tristessa. 😔

2 pages in and no one posted Within Temptation or Epica, a shame.

I personally in like 20 years haven't found another woman who was naturally interested in metal and not because of dick. It just is really uncommon and God knows I tried.
Again, depends on where you are. In Southern New England (Providence, RI, Worcester and Boston, MA), the Metal scene is very active and has at least a pocketful of women who regularly attended shows in the late 2000s and early 2010s. Haven't been to a live Metal show in over a decade, so I can't speak to how they are now, but in a crowd of 100, you'd find at least 10 women, 5 who attended without boyfriends.
Gothic Metal needs a spot, Liv Kristine has been responsible for my affection towards morose, saturnine big tiddy goth GFs.
Honestly, it depends entirely on the band. Metal bands that are genuinely influenced by Gothic Rock (Stillborn, Type O Negative, Saviour Machine, The Gathering, My Dying Bride) are all wonderful, but that Symphonic Corset Metal (Epica, Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil) should die in a ditch.

It is hard for me to wrap my mind around what happened to Batuska. I just know regardless of whoever did it, I like it and sorry. I just never understood them. I would translate all the lyrics and it would all come back as Psalms or something equally very religious, but the band(s) would dress up Satanically? I don't get it. But I am about done discerning the Byzantine Rite and they helped with that, lol. Thanks for bringing me to Christ, I guess?

Eh, never been big into Gothic Metal but used to hang out with people who were - the Goth chicks were all about Within Temptation, Lacuna Coil, Epica, Nightwish, Sirenia, After Forever, the list goes on.

Funny how that works - for me it was plain ol' BM what had made me reassess a whole bunch of things about God and Christianity. So now I find Black Metal as harmless entertainment, can't take it seriously (I never truly did) anymore.

Speaking of Batushka, these guys are pretty good and their aesthetic clearly borrows from theirs, check 'em out.

if you like Arch Enemy, you might like the shortlived Pittsburgh Death/Doom band Mythic:
I will add them to my list of music to listen to! Although I doubt any woman can give godtier growls like Angela tho
Metal-Archives was co-founded by a woman after all.
Holy shit really? No wonder that sites so good

well thankfully more and more zoomettes are getting into metal and alternative music in general. I’ve never met another young girl into metal but tbh I’ve only met like two young guys into it

Come on now Our Truth is a good song although her rendition of A Tout Le Monde is straight up ass. Please tell me you like Katatonia because the Great Cold Distance is one of my favorite gothic albums

Oh so you’re a Christian? I’m assuming you don’t like black metal then right?

Yeah, I told my priest, hey bring these people to me, even though I know converts from atheism/agnosticism/paganism are not common. I will never stop loving metal and don't see any reason to stop. Fuck, I still listen to Ghost and I know Tobias is a dedicated Satanist and not in the ironic sense. But I spend a lot of time in Adoration, at Liturgy, annoying my priest endlessly with my dumb questions lol.

@AmberHeardSupporter No, I still listen to black metal absolutely. To sort of echo what @Ahriman said, you can discern and disregard with proper catechesis and it is just fun. You know Satan didn't win.

Without exception, every last Corset Metal band compensates for their obvious lack of substance with forced symphonies that feels contrived, hollow and bombastic. None of them have the taste or discretion build to anything properly. Corset Metal skips straight to what would be the climax for a band with some subtlety. Nothing they compose can be enjoyed viscerally because they're bereft of catchy riffs, heavy grooves or atmospheres to evoke a particular feeling. All the music conveys is strained "epicness". And then, their awful music videos shot in the middle of a forest with awkward quick edits and the lead singer in either a corset (as the title implies) or a bride's gown.

And don't get me started about those utterly banal lyrics. The songwriting of every last one of these bands are profoundly moronic despite being one of the more prominent focuses of the music. Every song from Epica has terrible meter, clunky lines and dreadful choruses. I've heard fucking one note Brazilian Metal bands and RAC bands that learned English by rote write better lyrics.

They're okay. I didn't get as into them as I did November's Doom, but they're solid.
I wouldn't rape you if that is your question.
Don't respond. He's a low effort baitposter who shits up threads.

I like that they still maintain strict standards, although yeah, it's wildly inconsistent at times which is frustrating to put mildly. They also don't discriminate in terms of lyrical content. If it's Metal, then it's on the site no matter what they believe.

Good thing there's "Unblack Metal".

Check these out.

The band's live show usually incorporates acts such destroying a Satanic Bible, smashing a goat-skull adorned pentagram with a sword, drinking 'blood' etc. Because of this and because of their graphic lyrics, they are one of the most controversial bands in Christian metal scene.

But even with all that, I am not super hung up on Christian, or Christian-themed Metal bands. I still enjoy good ol' BM.

How much vodka have you drunk tonight? It is OK I won't judge.
For fuck's sake, don't take his bait. All he does is shit up threads. I don't want him to ruin a beautiful thing like this.
Good thing there's "Unblack Metal".
To bring this back on topic (and to provide a band with woman involvement), there's Virgin Black featuring Sesca Scaarba on cello and guitar:
