is there something wrong with Nick's voice? is that the alcoholism damage coming in? he sounds horrible.

This is an excellent point. Ralph was never really put on a pedestal by the Farms. Rekieta was. Ralph was liked well enough because he once hosted an entertaining show, with entertaining guests, but his rough edges were always evident (i.e. going to jail for taking a swing at a cop). Rekieta was a family man who people thought held wholesome conservative values. The turn was far more unexpected and shocking.Ralph was always kind of a low-class white trash weirdo, even at his peak, so it wasn’t a surprise the way Nick has been. If in like 2018 you told people Ralph would end up living in a shack in Mexico in debt with two child support payments to deal with no one would have been that surprised. Disappointed and concerned maybe at that point, but not surprised. If you told anyone in 2019 that Rekieta would be openly discussing his drug fueled sex trips, people would tell you to fuck off.
Maybe. I'll say his solo streams are things where you have to really have to be interested in law in order to enjoy them. They're not for everybody, but if you like thoughtful legal analysis, I'd say they're pretty decent.I think I never got the urge to watch him, he always felt miserable. Maybe I missed out.
From this clip from a stream from September, shortly after the Nashville event, the janny confirms he was sworn to secrecy about what went on!
Out of the closet and onto the rooftop for sure.I don't disagree, but that's precisely what makes the dichotomy between the two Rekieta's so pronounced. Before he was worried about something being misinterpreted as a crass joke about a tragedy, or a reminder of something entirely unrelated that he found deeply disturbing.
Now, he'll spew vile shit about children without a second thought. Just like Dick and Vito.
Massive difference between 2019 and 2023.
If you want to feel extra late, I actually did a terrible parody of that very same Dire Straits song on a balldo-themed "album" recorded into a potato over a couple of days back in January. The relevant bit of ear rape starts at 13:40, though I think my Shatner Rocket Man parody after it (17:37) turned out slightly better. That ain't workin' that's the way you do it get your money for nothing and your Balldos for free.
Apologies to @Maude Snew for not reading to the end of the thread and realizing he got the Dire Straits joke in before I did. Oh and @ScamL Likely for the Balldo part. I deserve all the clocks that can be hurled at me.
There's a YouTube version too but rumble is basically his home turf now so I figured I'd link this one here. It's total scuffed ear rape that I made in 2 days with next to 0 effort, but I like how it turned out for a relatively quick shitpost anyway.
@Null are you unaware of Orson Welles? His shittalk is hilarious. His criticism of the press and Hollywood are timeless. He also got sloshed on free wine during a commercial shoot.
I still think it’s a good criticism even in retrospect. Welles even has-been was still accurate in his criticism of a pedophilic narcissist.Welles was a washed up drunken has-been at the point he was making these comments. I'm not taking a position on whether the criticism of Allen was warranted or not, but by the time Allen was hot shit and everything he touched turned to gold, Welles was reduced to making drunk-assed TV commercials and hadn't been able to get a film out for years and years.
His last decent film at this point would have been Touch of Evil, which had to have been a good 15 or 20 years before Allen's career really took off. So it's hard for me to read this and not see the bitter sperging of a somebody at the end of their career, deeply envious that somebody else now has the kind of career that he once had.
It's tragic, because Welles really had been a contender and his best movies are far better than anything Allen made. But by this point, he was just another useless drunk who'd pissed his career away.
As a perennial member of the Gunt subforum, I would say the tone of the decline may be different, but the overall arc remains the same. Both are deeply insecure men running a grift who initially had a significant and (no offense) gay fanbase on the Farms that gradually turned on them over time as more and more of their true personalities were revealed. Rather than take any criticism to heart, both doubled-down by picking fights with the forum and their fans, then took to acting out and drinking to cope in an ever-escalating downward spiral of acting out, drinking to cope, then acting out again. Neither can help themselves and neither can improve.Nick's decline is more like passive-aggressive repressed latent homosexuality, or something. I noted earlier that the insults he and Dick are flinging at Null feel differently too. Ralph was more raw.
Without a hint of irony, Rackets will pontificate about how baffled he is that people think cuck and/or swinger shit it going on.Later in the clip Rekieta admits that he did a pole dance for his janny and his janny's wife! (2:40 in clip)
WITHOUT A HINT OF IRONYIt is also admitted that Nick contacted him a couple days after the event to swear him to secrecy, advising him not to speak publicly about what happened at the Airbnb.
Whatever you were trying to do there is awful and you should feel bad for creating it.If you want to feel extra late, I actually did a terrible parody of that very same Dire Straits song on a balldo-themed "album" recorded into a potato over a couple of days back in January. The relevant bit of ear rape starts at 13:40, though I think my Shatner Rocket Man parody after it (17:37) turned out slightly better.
I always thought he and (pre-coom/wetbrain) Nick were a great combo. He's got a ton of legal/constitutional knowledge but he's a bit dull to listen to solo, I have to be really interested in the topic to get through his clipped down segments and I've only made it through more than a few minutes of one of his streams once I think. Nick had a good enough grasp on the law (and how to run an interesting show) to know what questions to ask that Kurt might not think to expound upon himself, plus charisma/energy to balance out Kurt's Eeyore, and a lot of times they had differing opinions that they could express without yelling at each other. The first several times he was on Nick's show I really enjoyed it. I think a Greer-stream with Kurt would have been a ton of fun. I think his only exposure to Greer was filtered though those pro-bono IP lawyers when they and Skordas were arguing in Appeals so we never got to witness him reacting to any of Greer's batshit insane argumentsI sorta did, but thinking more about it, it was mainly for his solo streams. I'll openly concede he's shit in panel shows.
It's definitely garbage but I have fun inflicting these things upon the world.Whatever you were trying to do there is awful and you should feel bad for creating it.
The balldoman parody was worth itIt's definitely garbage but I have fun inflicting these things upon the world.
He was fourth generation Episcopalian but later in life claimed to be an atheist.Welles was a Hungarian Jew, who was raised Christian iirc.
It must suck knowing you're trying to own Null despite the fact you also know he's actually right.I noted earlier that the insults he and Dick are flinging at Null feel differently too.
Ralph's insults can actually be fun at times, in that when he's feeling it he can actually cut a good promo.Nick's decline is more like passive-aggressive repressed latent homosexuality, or something. I noted earlier that the insults he and Dick are flinging at Null feel differently too. Ralph was more raw.
