He's fast becoming one of the cleanest examples of a YouTuber in this genre who honestly should have quit while he was ahead. In hindsight, nuking his Patreon because it felt morally wrong was probably the point at which he should have had a serious sit down with himself and reevaluated if he wanted to be an actual YouTube personality and what that would mean for him in terms of interacting with the social ecosystem minefield in place or if he wanted to stay hands off and just be a guy who happens to upload some interesting things once in a while without engaging with the community and let the content be separate from his life.
The accessibility of fame in the digital age we live in is really a blessing and a curse. People who absolutely under no circumstances have the constitution to be famous but want attention can buy some views and jump into a trendy algorithm just to have a public meltdown at the first taste of criticism for us to enjoy and that's great, but the reality of having a large following is just as psychologically dangerous if not more so to somebody who starts out with good intentions.
Look at Balldo. I can't say with any confidence that he was ever really a good person, being a two-faced asshole is almost more important than the bar to have a career of any kind in law and the propensity for substance abuse with it, but at the start he was a clean-cut respectable figure who seemed to have it all in life and just wanted to talk shop about cases he wasn't involved in. And people liked it. Even the obvious alcohol issues fit the brand, lawyers do have a reputation and a few sloppy end of streams would have been funny content instead of a black mark on his image. He had a good thing going, and then he got too personally involved. He got too friendly with his community, started oversharing his hotwife degeneracy, got into some slapfight faggotry that he let impact the man instead of the brand, and now we have the sloppy, vindictive, self-gratifying public spectacle he's become. And because of his inability to handle a crumb of fame everyone knows what a balldo is. Unfortunately.
Wendigoon started out as a wholesome, likeable, earnest everyman with a knack for teaching who wanted to share some cool rabbit holes he found with people who might like them. He's easy to listen to. Engaging, informative, pretty easy on the eyes and ears, and unfortunately for him, he seems like a genuinely nice guy. I think that's where the fuck-up happens.
I don't buy that he's a fed or a YouTube plant. Or, at least he didn't start out as one, who the fuck knows what's going on behind the scenes once someone gains traction. I think he's just the kind of guy that inspires parasocial relationships in troubled young folks like a magnet because if you were in his youth group he'd be the adult you could honestly talk to about your problems. It radiates through the screen. Hell, the first red flag I got from his community months ago was looking up something from one of his videos and stumbling into his subreddit filled with people calling him Dad. That's uncomfortable even as a joke for so many reasons and a solid indicator of the cloth the most emotionally invested, active members of the community will be cut from.
How do you even deal, as a counselor accustomed to meaningful mentor-student relationships in everyday life, with untold thousands of mentally ill loose cannons hopped up on hormones spraying their pronouns everywhere and projecting their need for fatherly approval on you? It's a fucking mess and not being able to tell them no is absolutely going to be taken as a sign that you support them. The only way out of it is to not have acknowledged them in the first place and catering to their vocal minority sensibilities is going to erode the features of the content that made it appealing to the rest of the viewers as surely as Rackets lost his. He's clearly already making content that suits the audience in favor of drawing the audience to the content he chooses to make and it's a shame.
I don't expect him to land on a big, black dick at the bottom of the slippery slope like Rekieta, but I don't think he really ever wanted or needed this level of fame. Those initial hits of "Wow, they really like me!" dopamine are innocent enough, but where they lead can creep up. Really, it must be great having something you try doing one day with no expectations for success blow up like that. You don't have to be a BPD whore or a generation TikTok flagsexual furry to think it feels good to be adored by strangers. Humans are social and everyone likes to be accepted by someone. In Wendigoon's case though, I do think he's realized on some level that his conspiracy research accidentally bought him a whole flock of retards to shepherd and he doesn't know how to manage one that size. He's focusing too much on grazing them and not enough on the cliff they're walking along. As big as he's gotten it's almost a guarantee that at some point someone's going to stumble and I wouldn't be surprised if that first big controversy makes him step back entirely. At least for a while.
I liked him a lot for a while, but in truth I'm just as happy to watch it all burn down.

I have never watched any of the videos and the only reason why I know of these people is due to this thread. I still feel justified in saying that their viewer base is all pedosadists.
I have said this before but I cannot overstate how fucked up one has to be to get upset at not consuming constant videos about children being horribly murdered. Enough to even sperg on about it.
For the life of me, I can't wrap my head around it.
I thought his Faith video was good but the guy is Christian so anything related to that would probably automatically pull more effort out of him.

Yeah, he started it by inviting that himself. He basically encouraged it. In his disturbing movie Iceberg video, he played into that by trying to jokingly pose as a father to his viewers to get them through "the difficult parts" or whatever.
Even as a joke, that is like gasoline to a forest fire for parasocial relationships and mentally ill, terminally online depressed zoomers with daddy issues.
That, alongside his wife nerding out about House of Wax and The Hills Have Eyes are the two things I vividly remember despite not having watched that video in ages.
I remembered the former because I was like "...Huh? Wait how old are you? This is weird."
I think he may have played into the daddy shit in some of his sponsor segments too.

Besides being more passionate about it he was able to have fun with it, like having IH voice Gary. Which is an element a lot of his videos are lacking.
With his most of his recent videos sure he was passionate about the subject, but it was too serious to make jokes and have fun. So while interesting as a topic, the delivery was exceptionally dry and doesn't stand out among other creators.
Then with his most recent, it's clear that he started the Ted video with passion but that quickly died during the research phase and he finished it out of obligation to his fans. The Urban Spook comparison video, he was passionate, but someone who built himself up as a wholesome nice guy shouldn't be disparaging to other creators and instead should have dedicated the video purely to GreyLock which is what he liked anyway.

Pretty sure I've talked about YourEverydayTheorist before but he's an up and coming channel I admire a lot. He released this disturbing music iceberg today and honestly? One of the best music icebergs I've seen. You can tell he's put a bunch of research into this first part. That he cares about what he's talking about and he talks about stuff I've never heard other youtubers mention
Most interesting entry was towards the end discussing Buyer's Market by Peter Sotos and why the guy made it. Sotos writes about child abuse a lot and EverydayTheorist reminded me that people aren't sure if Sotos is a pedophile or not with how much he's obsessed with the topic. Highly recommend subbing to this guy he's one of the few decent iceberg creators on youtube.
