To be fair, Chuchu lived with her troon ex-husband for years, who allowed him to get horribly obese. I doubt that a quality diet, and regular vet care that included occasional dental cleaning, were part of his care during that time. Much as I dislike Corissa, Chuchu does appear to have slimmed down a bit since she got him back, and doesn't look so miserable as he did. And that, plus paying to get his bad teeth removed—which a lot of pet owners handwave away, or say is too expensive, is to her credit.

I still don't think that adopting a LGD like Saul was a good idea, especially after she and Juliana previously rehomed a young dog for being "too energetic," and I wouldn't want to walk around the dogshit minefield that is their backyard. As a pet owner, she's no better than average. But as lolcows go, she's by far one of the better pet owners, especially when stacked against the likes of Chantal, or Polissa and Josh Campbell.

I have to agree. When they brought the terrier home I figured it would be a disaster and Saul seems to be fine so far.

Small dogs have small/thin jaws and are more prone to having their teeth rot which means having to get them pulled and getting that (albeit cute) look where the tongue hangs out of the mouth. But that can be postponed or all out avoided with upkeep. Might be TMI but I have a breed of dog notorious for this shit and when I bring them to the vet the vet always comments on the condition of their teeth considering their old age. I just brush their teeth a couple times a week and I do it for multiple reasons, i dont want to pay for the dental bills, bad teeth = bad breath, and I don't want to get sad every time I look at my dog, like look at this pathetic fuck who can't even crunch on something anymore.
