I'm still holding out hope that some particularly autistic veteran will investigate Snorjax's military claims and we'll be treated to a stolen valor arc.
Unless you are the veteran, or a direct family member of said veteran, no one is getting a copy of her DD214.
I am of the opinion that she signed up for a four and four contract with the army as a 91B. That is the MOS (military occupational speeciality) for an army wheel vehicle mechanic. She was in the rear, with the gear.
At her four year point, she re-upped to make her entire 8 year contract active. This is easy to do and anyone with a pulse and hasnt gone to a serious artcle 15, can do this.
At her 8 year point, she had not made rank fast enough nor had any senior responsibilities so they denied her extending. I suspect that her finances were a mess already and this caused her a lot of problems.
For example, with her GI bill, you need to enroll and pay for your classes first. The the gi bill pays out to you. If you are smart, you go to an affordable school, get a good degree, and make a little money off the payments. If your Jackie, you go to a university for film and don't last a semester so even if she got that first payment, she has to pay it back. I suspect Jackie didn't even get the payments started before she left the school because of her debt situation.
Fun thing a lot of civilians don't realize, like our uniforms costs, the GI bill comes out of our paycheck. So if she never ends up using her gi bill, it's a sunk cost for her. I want to say the cutoff is 20 years from your last day on active so she is pretty much at the end of it.
If you were able to get her DD214, I don't think it would show anything interesting or shocking. A bunch of participation medals and an honorable discharge.
She certainly didn't do intelligence or analysis as enlisted or as a contractor. If she had anything like that, she would either share the MOS or at the very least know and use some specific terminology that she simply doesn't know, which would be a calling card for anyone who has worked in that arena.
