I did six years in the military, and I'll tell you that the US has an unhealthy worship of the military and veterans in general.
It's actually far worse with judgment proof vexatious litigants because they have nothing to lose. Rich people you can not only nail for your legal costs and fees and actually collect on, but get punitive damages, which are usually at least partly based on the net worth of the loser. I.e. to an amount meant to deter others from pulling such a stunt. This is especially the case in the states with really strong anti-SLAPP like California and Texas.

That’s probably true. I know a couple who don’t like it because they don’t like what the military has become as well (lower standards, LGBTIAQP+ shit, women like Jackie in places they have no use being in).
