My wife and I have been separated for over a year now, a large reason being that I came out as a trans woman a few years ago but have not begun transitioning. We are still legally married for now, and we still celebrate holidays together with our two children (13 and 5).

We live hundreds of miles apart, and I bring the kids over with me for long holiday weeks, and then my wife arrives to spend the actual holiday together. I made no secret to my family that my wife and I are separated and in the process of divorcing. I just told most of my family that my ex and I have a lot of differences and no longer see eye to eye on everything but our kids. I didn't tell anyone that my ex didn't want to be married to me because I am trans.

This morning, as I prepared to take our children on the road trip to my place, I told my ex that my family knows we are divorcing because it will be very obvious when they see us together. She asked if I told them I was Trans. I told her that some of my family members know, most, including the older relatives, do not. She told me that she was going to tell everyone that the reason we are divorcing is because I am Trans.

I told her that would be awful and put me in a dangerous position. She said that I wasn't being fair and that my family would think she's solely to blame for our divorce. (Honestly, she is. I had no interest in divorcing. It was her decision and reaction to my coming out.) We stopped the conversation there before it turned into an argument, and I had to get on the road. My ex will be joining my family for the holiday on Wednesday, and I know she has every intention of outing me. WTF should I do?

Given how captured academia is, you'd think they would be happy to do follow ups knowing that whatever they said, the study authors would probably twist it to a positive anyway. I guess the slight chance that an intellectually honest researcher might be conducting the study is too much of a risk for them to want to participate.

TBH the follow-up on cancer mastectomy patients would be a lot easier, because surgeons will schedule follow-ups for a few years, as will your oncologist. Even women having prophylactic mastectomies will stay in the system for review. Pooners on the other hand should be magically cured of their illness and have no further need of top experts, as they skip down the road to rotdog heaven.

If this display of complete selfishness is not enough to goad the wife into telling it all, the fact that they have two children should. On the off chance that the troon fights for custody, the wife should establish clearly that she was being forced out of marriage because her husband prioritized his sexual fetish. The children, at least the 13-year-old, should be informed about the complete story early, well in advance of the finalization of divorce, because the double blow of losing a father AND the father turning into a "woman" are too much to take in one go.
