That's the other issue I had. In BG2, at least, if you didn't romance Aerie, then Haer'Dalis would romance her instead. If your PC is choosing to shack up with Karlach, for instance, then why wouldn't Gale start dating Shadowheart? It's like it's either your PC or they're forever single. That's fucked up.

I really liked the fact that if you reject La'zell she will actually hook up with one male in the party..

Funniest being Gale where she wanted to hook up and Gale just wanted to talk.

I have a theory that in fact there have been countless species/civilizations that have risen and fallen for eons. Eventually, contrary to the natural tendencies of evolution, the females of the species clamor for equal rights and the weak males give them their "equality." Very quickly, the species completely annihilates itself, and in the early rise of the new species or civilization, they learn from the rubble of the old one and forbid equal rights for females right up until the lessons of the past fade and feminism rears its ugly head once more, ad nauseam. I also have a theory that the "Sea Peoples" that caused the bronze age collapse was in fact a derogatory term for "feminist women," but that's another subject....

Because they don't think outside of themselves. "Why wouldn't a man want me and my kid(s)?" It wouldn't surprise me if they can put it together, but are just so self involved it never occurs to them.

Seems to be true. But I'd say it's a distant second to their child as well.
