As of this post, The new RWBY X Justice League crossover part 2 movie trailer has around 300k views on the official Warner Bros YouTube channel. Which might sound good, but it’s embarrassingly bad in context.
First the views dropped in half from part 1 that was around 600k for the trailer alone.
Secondly, and more importantly, The Justice League is one of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world. Anything that has Batman, and Superman on it, as long as it is mildly competent, should sell like hotcakes.
Justice League animated videos (any version really) are usually in the million range…for random clips, not even full on trailers. But, the, trailers for animated movies are huge too. Also in the 4 Million range , on average. The TMNT Batman crossover, for literal, kids also has several trailers and clips in the million range. Some Random clips have 8 or even 12 million views.
Rwby X Justice League random clips are around the 50k to 1k range.
Point is Rooster Teeth somehow managed to use some of the most valuable IPs in the world, and still delivered a mediocre at best product that was met with a big “Meh” from DC fans.
