Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

You missed a very important fact in this video.

Its the same woman from earlier that was crying because her unit got obliterated. She is the only Ukrainian I've seen video of that wears the Pippy Longstocking badge. She isn't infantry, she is a medic. Not ideal to have on the front lines but I still respect the hell out of her for actually getting in the shit.

I just noticed that yes, it is indeed the same unit, 47th Mechanized. This Youtube video may be from the battle that had her unit get chopped the fuck up.
They probably zero'd in on her hair.

What are you basing that on? Those are different Pippi badges, and different bags.

I'm not exactly sure what they meant with putting a burned Russian tank in front of Parliament. You see plenty of burned Russian tanks in a Russian war. The problem with the Russians is that they always have new ones.

Also, the border issue makes me laugh, because suddenly the EU gives a shit about Arabs and Africans trespassing Europe when its the Russians giving the beck-and-call. Now we can't have Nafri and Negroes jumping the border. Maybe Putin mistook Western Europe spreading its legs for a decade to those people as a sign they might like them.

As an aside, I misspoke earlier. "Every Finn understands that Russia is not to be pissed off." was the right point but wrongly said. The Russians can be pissed off, but never to a point of no return or reconciliation. I should've said "Every Finn understands that Russia is not to be pushed too far." The principal notion of Finnish geopolitics is balance. Finland survives because the best Finns cut the best deals that make Finnish interests the common interests. Any Finnish leader worth their position knows this.

It's unfortunate then that the NATO membership has to make the Finnish-Russian relationship inherently antagonistic for the foreseeable future. I would say that its in Finland's best interests for the time being. However, with it, NATO issues become Finland's issues, namely the West and the Americans.

Europe is in desperate need of a third position to counter both the Russians and the Americans. Germany was shattered because of the war. France hasn't been a serious contender since Napoleon. Never trust the British. So maybe the Polish?

My main contention with NATO has and will always be the Americans. I don't trust Russia because of history. I don't trust America because I know America. I've seen what American ideas can do in Europe, and that poofery violently disgusts me when its among kinsmen in Turku or Helsinki.

Baltica is such a gay name. I would call it "Fennoslavia" and confederate it with Finland and Estonia. It's not gonna be part of Suur Suomi because of all the Slavs living there, but we can try making a multiethnic nation in Europe since it's totally gonna work this time.

With a majority Russian population. The Estonians will love that.

Likely the crying video came after this bit of combat, her outfit matches. Also you can see the two moles on her right cheek when she is kneeling.

I just noticed that yes, it is indeed the same unit, 47th Mechanized.

The 47th mechanized is a real hard luck unit. It spent most of the summer fighting at Robotyne. It had one brigade commander (Dimytro Rybakov) killed on July 22nd. Then they removed the next brigade commander around mid-september because the unit was unable to advance successfully beyond Robotyne. A couple weeks after he was replaced, the brigade was redeployed to Avdiivka and switched into a defensive role northwest of the city.

His replacement (Oleksandr Pavlii) had been commander of a territorial garrison brigade in the Kiev area since 2022. The unit had supposedly suffered horrific casualties in the summer offensive and now its deployed to the northwest of Avdiivka. Reports also suggest that the equipment they have left is mostly worn out.

The whole thing is kind of telling about the situation in Ukraine. The 47th was an elite unit at the beginning of the 2023 counteroffensive. It was trained originally in Europe and got alot of good equipment. And now its a broken shell of what it was with the survivors of the summer fighting at Robotyne now dying at Avdiivka. And commanded by a colonel who sat out a large portion of the war in command of garrison troops in Kiev.

Turkish BMC Kirpi stuck in mud:

Fun fact, these things weigh 20,000 kg. On fucking 4 wheels.
For comparison BTR-80 is 13,600 kg on 8 wheels.
Well, to be completely fair, this is also much larger and meant to counter-act SOVIET/NATO style artillery made to act as landmines or IEDS. Along with being able to be hit by RPG HEAT shells, transport a platoon or whatever and survive a lethal ambush... and maybe provide logistics? and act as a mobile command center? I don't know, but I'm guessing this is supposed to be used in the middle east and where it doesn't get wet or muddy because this has no form of counter-weight or four wheel drive- and it's not even six wheel either so it has even worse traction.

Then again, BTR-70 (because ukrainians don't have a lot of BTR-80) can also be used as all of that but it's major flaw is poor protection from anything that is large caliber or large-bore. unguided anti-tank grenades like PG-7V go through it fairly easily without any kind of field or large scale modification but the thing to notice is that the BTR is not meant to stay by the infantry, it's there to quickly drop them off right at the contact point and then retreat because all it really has is a KPVT to defend itself. BTR-82 solves this somewhat with better plating on the hull but the problem still stays. It's not supposed to stick by the infantry - it's supposed to do a large scale tactical maneuver and drop the infantry into a place where they can do something.

The Kirpi is meant for low-intensity counter-guerilla warfare against forces that are either not well equipped or supported enough in manpower to counter what is essentially just a maxxpro or bearcat with more plating in an environment that doesn't suffer mud seasons or soft ground.

That award still goes to 128th Mountain Assault though.
Hasn't the 128th Mountain Assault been completed destroyed and reconstituted about 2-3 times now? I know they got one of their command posts smoked by two Iskander back in October but I seem to recall this unit getting obliterated in some sort of combat last year.

Afaik MVS 'Donbas' (it was completely wiped out) and MVS 'Azov' had been completely dissolved, reformed and then dissolved again repeatedly because they just kept throwing them into offensive maneuvers at Artyemovsk or Adviidka.

The AFU suffers a large problem as it uses it's lightly armored vehicles that are supposed to be used like the BTR (like the m113 and MRAPS) as taxis for infantry as instead tanks. Same goes for infantry fighting vehicles, they are using them as tanks and fire support vehicles along with overextending them into the range of infantry anti-tank without proper support from their infantry. They don't have very good tactical recon because they constantly fumble defenses and attacks; Strategic reconnaisance will never make a difference if you don't have battlefield intelligence and cannot comprehend how to use it.

At this point 47th Mechanized can enter the competition of the most battered units of AFU.

Ironically, the 47th mechanized brigade was apparently the same unit who "completely wiped out the most elite russian paratrooper brigades (11th GAAB & 31st GAAB) at hostomol". I won't sperg too hard into what happened on February 24th but the first attack and defense by 200 paratroopers against a force of probably 2,000+ Ukrainian regulars and without sufficient ground armored support against a mechanized and armored ukrainian unit managed to take the city, and the airport. They held it until the 25th and until the retreat.

EDIT:
Misnomer, it was actually the 72nd - which has been surprisingly silent as of yet.

Anyone know how to bypass Bildplus? I wanna read this article. Ignore the word "picture", that's supposed to be Bild and Google translated it for some reason poorly. Also, "wood and beads", is supposed to be Scholz and Biden respectively.

Situation is getting worse for AFU in Avdeevka.
Usage of cluster bombs by VVS remains very high.

Here is at least the summary from the author of the article on Twitter:

Even the Abrams wunderwaffle is now obsolete.
I bet the issue is that the US has threatened the mutts that they're cut off if the Russians start showing Lancet videos of abandoned M1s due to typical Holhol stupidity.

From this longer yt video, age restricted: https://youtu.be/Ee22F99uWNE
I wonder how many died from friendly fire? At the 2:20 mark of the dawn engagement the one with the Go-Pro camera shooting over the heads of their fellow soldiers doesn't look like they had any training whatsoever. I assume this is the tarded Kool-Aid hair colored person who thinks this is like a video game where FF is turned off.
