Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

There was uh one week I had 16 games come in.

In my defence I have actual things I can share with my family. 16 digital games might as well be 16 pieces of toilet paper as far as I'm concerned.

I thought the whole appeal of a Nintendo console were its first parties since you can practically get every third party somewhere else with better performance. Especially now with the Steam Deck and other pc handhelds.
There are tons of third party games that are Nintendo only or have less censored versions on the switch.

I'm up to 247 physical Switch games and I only regret buying one. Chicken Range was a UK import but I got it in HK for $10 so it wasn't that much of a waste.

Like the bajillion VNs that seem to be a direct copy-paste from Steam. Only a handful you can also get from GOG (including the unrated version patches) and itch,io. The former you can easily pirate and the latter being either free or somehow MORE expensive than the price on switch.

I'm a filthy fucker who never buys direct from Nintendo (because they're too rich for my blood) but, thanks to this Black Friday deal, I tried to for XB 3. They won't ship to my house. Fuuuuckers. I'll just buy it from a re-seller for an identical price then, see if I care. I never *sniff* *sniff* liked Nintendo anyway...

Alright not to double post but (as you will come to see) this is a big one and I don't want to lead it off with the above.

So, I brought a lot of game shit today and will be listing it out below.

First, the failures.

Amazon and Gamestop are both selling 1/2 Switch for 10 dollars but Amazon is all out and I refuse to use GS anymore after what happened last time. So no dice.
Walmart has (or had) Odyssey for only 30 dollars. Thats less than sealed copies have been going for for the past 6 years and is an excellent deal, hence no shock that they are all sold out. Switch Sports also sold out at 30, not sure if I was gonna buy it, but definitely won't now.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 was listed at 30 on Amazon with Nintendo itself as the seller, but they do not like me and will not mail me games so I missed out on that as well.

Now the Walmart games, of which there is only one.
Alice Gear Aegis CS: Concerto of Simulatrix for $20 dollars (27 after shipping.)

Best Buy games:
Assassin's Creed Ezio Collection: $16
Super Monkey Ball Banana Mania: $16
Mario + Rabbids SoH (Standard Edition): $16
Mario + Rabbids SoH (Best Buy Edition): $16
Rabbids Party of Legends: $16
Atari 50: $21
Katamari Damacy RR+RR: $21

Woot (Amazon gimmick store for kids?):
9th Dawn III: $19
Paradigm Paradox: $19

Amazon:
Umihara Kawase Bazooka: $16
Dairoku: Agents of Sakurtani: $22
Loop8: Summer of Gods: $21
Rune Factory 4: $21
Rune Factory 5: $21
Variable Barricade: $20
Super Bomberman R: $16
Adventure Acadamia TFC: $16
Alwa's Collection: $17
Cotton Fantasy: $21 (I had to jump through hoops to get my order in on this too, wonder if it will ship or be refunded)
Lover Pretend: $27
Monark: $23

And as a bonus, I also won a lot of sealed DS games today. I spent $95 on it and am already ahead because one of the games, SPP, goes for more than that by itself. The lot itself is below anyway, for completion's sake, with PC prices included.
Super Princess Peach: $157
Mario and Luigi PiT: $77
Nintendogs Dachshund and Friends: $38
Just Sing!: $28
Brain Age: $13
Lego Battles Ninjago: $10
My Baby First Steps: $8
Jonas: $6
I Spy Universe: $6
Games Around the World: $5

My total spending is 521 but factoring in the "gain" from that ebay deal it actually comes to $268. I am iffy on whether a lot of that stuff was good buys but in my experience its always the deals I feel iffy about that come back to be winners. I will be revisiting this post yearly to see how my buys hold up. Next year will be rough with the Switch 2 coming out to depress "old" prices and modern sealed collecting is all a scam anyway but I have hopes some of it will retain and eventually gain in value.

I appreciate you.

But if someone like you were dying in a ditch, I'd shoot them twice just to be sure.

If it makes you feel better, I have good reason now to believe that the DS games I brought were either bootlegs or re-seals. I'll have to do an ebay dispute with him, judging by his Ugly Sonic avatar and others' feedback he'll be a difficult one too. FFS, my last buy ended poorly too (ceramic bank that broke in shipping.)

Even game collecting has gotten worse.

:(

Looks like Nintendo Japan is releasing a CERO Z version of the Nintendo 64 app, for the 18+ rated games such as GoldenEye 64 and Startwins (Jet Force Gemini).
I assume Biohazard 2 (Resident Evil 2) and Perfect Dark will be released there at a later date too.

It largely depends on the publisher. For instance, all the VNs on Switch published by Prototype (such as Little Busters, Grisaia, Clannad, FLOWERS, etc.) have never been discounted once in the Nintendo eshop (both EU and JP but I assume NA as well). Meanwhile, the Steam releases of the same titles are handled by JAST USA thus have been discounted numerous times, but at the same time they're English-only (originally intended to prevent the Japanese buying at a lesser price).

Console ports of visual novels make it easier to find the good stuff, and they tend to have a better UI or extra contents compared to the PC versions too.
However the genre remains primarily Japanese-only on Switch between Memories Off, Ar No Surge, (Shin) Hayarigami, FLOWERS, Buddy Mission Bond, Kami-sama, Fuuraiki 4, Eve Burst Error, Amakano, VN adaptations of animes, etc.

I'm very much looking forward to Kudan no Folklore (horror urban legends with yuri romance) and Another Code Recollection in January.

It's been a long time but I don't remember Rare being so horny with the JFG girl's design here in the U.S. In fact, I don't even remember her being on the box at all.

I don't remember Jet-Force Gemini even being rated M/18+ in the first place.

In America, "they're just bugs" as an excuse was fine to obtain a Teen rating from ESRB.
But in Japan, CERO still classified them as humanoids getting their limbs and heads blown off and then twitching to death in puddles of their own green blood.

Got the Metal Gear Solid Collection at Best Buy 20 bucks off for Black Friday. Fucker is still downloading lawl.
Mate you could have gotten all that for free with a PS3 emulator and the HD collection, it runs MGS3 perfectly. Most importantly, you can bypass the retarded resolution gimps Konami tried to sneakily play off like they couldn't improve. Recently even MGS4 has gotten to a playable state in emulator form, which blows my mind.

I mean sure but I'm also lazy and I bought a switch to play games lol
