At least in the Cinderella live action remake she had a cool, sparkly dress, was actually pretty, unlike the ugly actors for Belle and Ariel and they had some black characters but not flat out pretending historical Europe inspired settings were full of non-whites. Asha's racially diverse gang just looks stupid.

Asha's fucking stupid, I hate nigger hair so much you have no idea.

What was the box office prediction, then? Did they even try to make it low enough (at like 40 mil or something like that?) to claim they made money or "underperformed" this weekend?
The normal predictions were around 50-60 million which is in line with their previous November films like Moana. However keep in mind that this was supposed to be their big centennial celebration so they spent a shit ton of money on it and expected to be a big breakout hit like Frozen. So to go below those absurd exceptions and make less than Ridley Scott's shitty Napoleon fanfic must be a (well deserved) kick in the nuts to Disney.

Disney. Firing money makers like Johnny Depp and Gina Carano in name of being woke. Giving millions to criminals.

Even the letterboxed sjws dont like it, the average score is mid but all the written reviews hate it lmao

This one was beautifully scathing imo:

Tim Brayton weighs in:
You know what, I actually do feel sorry for the Disney animators. It's the company's big 100th anniversary celebration and the movie they're releasing has basically abandoned having any identity of its own other than "celebrate the studio's legacy in the most pandering way imaginable", so you all come up with this whole difficult-to-describe aesthetic of backgrounds that have been lit so that they always look like flat paintings on paper but still get to move in three-dimensions, along with characters who are 3-D models and are textured like 3-D models but also have this brand-new thing where they look like they have thin dark painted outlines. It's this combination of 2-D painted cels and 3-D animation, a real earnest attempt to try out this thing called "stylisation" that neither you nor your corporate cousins at Pixar have ever actually trotted out before, but in the wake of Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, it looks like the market can bear it, so the corporate bosses loosen the reins a bit. And here you are, with this new look that tries to combine your contemporary house style with the classical look of traditionally animated movies going back to Snow White in 1937, and it's not there, not even close to it really, but the idea is sound, and it's nice to try to do something bold-looking...

...And then not quite a year before your release date, you get your whole entire ass handed to you by DreamWorks of all companies, the one specific company it's most embarrassing to be lapped by if you're Disney, and they do it with a movie that also has the word "Wish" in the title, thereby guaranteeing that smug critics looking to sharpen their knives on your studio in this gallingly over-sentimental year of all years will have a ready-made point of comparison right there. Would I have admired the aesthetic of Wish more if Puss in Boots: The Last Wish didn't exist? Don't know. It does exist. It blows this movie out of the fucking water.

And even if I was going to be a bit easier on the film's effortfully ugly look, there'd be the matter of its unbelievably broken story, which starts from this ungainly, counterintuitive mythology about the political economy of wishing that starts from a definition of "wish" that already doesn't make sense to me, and gets more complex from there. Like, your wishes are taken away from you so you don't get anxiety, but then if you aren't granted your wish, it gives your depression? I don't get it, and I don't especially want to. It's all a big dumb metaphor for how Disney is your benevolent corporate friend who wants you to be able to pursue your very own private wishes without having to entrust them to... I dunno, Warner Bros., or the Fleischers, or some fucking thing. It's messy and muddy, it leaves to some blisteringly incoherent characters (this movie suffers from a rough case of "the villain is bad because we said he's bad" writing), and while I appreciate that the movie keeps the foot on the gas pedal - it's a fast 95 minutes, I assume because of the high frequency of musical numbers - it's rushing through the worldbuilding way too fast for such a rickety, dysfunctional world.

And about those musical numbers: holy shitting balls. I don't know if I'd say that this has, as a whole, the very worst song list in Disney feature history, but I do think it has the two very worst individual songs in the form of "Knowing What I Know Now", a tedious martial anthem, and the ungodly dismal "I'm a Star", which has easily the worst lyrics in the 86 years since Snow White, and a completely unsingable rhythm that it apples to the title line every time it shows up, which it does frequently. My apologies to Lin-Manuel Miranda for all of the snitty things I've sad over the years: his stuff merely annoys me, but somebody doing a poor impersonation of his writing style makes my brain liquefy.

Look at how bloated Wikipedia's part of the "critical response" to this film is. They're literally trying to make it look like this movie is just totally misunderstood.

Three paragraphs of literally nothing substantial. Look at all those names of people who have fuck-all to give to the benefit of society.
Those jannies must be working overtime. I hope Disney pays them well.
:story:

A lot of 2000s frame by frame shows were animated in Flash as well but it wasn't usually super obvious. I can't remember if this s right or not and it's suddenly hard for me to find info on this shit with current SEO but I'm pretty sure the 2002 he man reboot was animated in flash.
Getting Megas XLR vibes

Today we learned that Conquered(wiki)Pedia is also used to soften backlash against poorly received Kike propaganda. I used to think it was just for Yahvist historical revisionism and Zionism.

I hate their "default" hair, i.e. curly pubes.... everywhere. Nature really was trying to tell the world something with their low IQs, turd skin, and pubes for hair.

Friend's going through the artbook and pointing out Asha's hair in them. She legit looks cute in the artbook.

But oh, wait, that kind of hair would've been a bitch to make look like a "painting", and she doesn't look "BIPOC" enough.

The songs in Wish are fucking horrible.

It's one notch above cocomeleon and the "you're a star" is the worst of them all .

They could've hired every person they worked with over the last two decades, but instead they hired Disney Channel tier songwriters.

Love him or hate him, LMM at least understands the basics of musical theater and storytelling.

The scrap content is infinity more interesting than what we got

ironically, she actually looks like a black person you'd see IRL. OFC, not "woke" enough for the Rat. Shame.

It really amazes me of how much they fucked this up. Especially when Disney wanted to tell a simple story for their 100th anniversary. Anything could've been done, but Disney doesn't let their creative team do anything fun especially with all the scrapped ideas and knowing how Disney operates, they probably forced it to be 3D than the 2D movie they wanted to make because of dumb shit like "2D Movies don't sell" and whatnot.
