Brianna Wu / John Walker Flynt - "Biggest Victim of Gamergate," Failed Game Developer, Failed Congressional Candidate

Her Patreon managed to drop $5 and then suddenly go up $2 immediately afterwards.
Pretty sure by now that is either he bots blinking in and out, or it is something with the system ... do other Patreons go up and down like that?
I really don't know what to make of this.

Wu has failed to meet so many deadlines and her game is such an abortion, I simply can't imagine her trying to release that shit, since it'll lead to a shitload of ridicule and I doubt she can get out of this unscathed and with her fake tech-expert cred untouched...

But on the other hand, she can't be this ballsy to do all this bruhaha of teasing a release and then skip out on it... again. Right?

Guess what I'm trying to say is I am really looking forward to @Smutley doing a playthrough of this aweful new eyecancer version of Wu's shitty game and an avalanche of negative reviews on Steam - so I am unsure whether it would be funnier for Wu to fail yet again to release her game or her releasing it with all the fallout it'll generate.
Wu can't release the game, neither can't she not release the game.
I am pretty much expecting that something will 'happen', that pushes the game back, take your pick:
  1. GoombaGravy has hacked the GSX accounts all files and Backups deleted!
  2. In the last moment, Steam has rejected the game because they are all misogynists.
  3. GobbleGoat has starved one of Wu's dogs to death, mental stress is too much to upload that game.
  4. Wu contracts a disease/has an accident that prevents her from releasing the game, but not from tweeting.
  5. Wu totally forgot that she has that important speech to give at Attheassoftheworld-Con, Rev 60 delayed until she returns.
  6. Some vague bad thing happens, that remains unexplained.

Of course, since it is Frank's money (and probably his company), it could be him pushing her to release it, so they can finally put an end to the entire game-design charade.

I'm hoping he fucks up and goes for option #4, so people can point out that if he can still type on Twitter, he can sure as shit press "publish" on Steam.

John Flynt overworked his staff, paid them slave wages, fired them all, then took all the credit for everything they did.

Source on them being overworked and underpaid?

Where John is, he's got about 8 hours to release day.
My bet is that John's gonna ignore the release date entirely and desperately try to overlook Hosk raising hell upon him until the backers ask for refunds in droves.

John, shut the fuck up about Pokemon. PETA and the rest of the internet already did this fucking YEARS ago!

Pokemon lampooned this with Team Plasma.

Can we stop with this bots conspiracy theory already? It's nonsense.

This happens every month at the beginning of the month when payments are scheduled. Some peoples' payments don't work, because their payment method expired/was declined/whatever. When that happens, they get an email asking them to update their payment details. Some do, the payment is retried and succeeds. Others don't, and the amount is permanently deducted from the total. That's why there's always a sharp drop at the beginning of the month, followed by some small increases in the next week or so.

The release of the game will truly be a monumental moment in this message board's history. We will have to change our calendars to read B360 and A360.

I've got news for all of you, the Final Fantasy XII remake that Square swore would NEVER happen is going to come out before Rev 60. If you have any delusions that Rev 60 will actually be released (which I doubt any of you do), then let that sink in. The remake of FF7 has only been in actual development for a little over a year now, and it's a fucking complex game. In the amount of time that has elapsed since the original release of Rev 60, Brianna Wu / John Flynt could have learned enough programming to fix the game her/him/itself.

What's truly funny is excuses for missing previous deadlines are never given and the missed deadlines are never acknowledged. John seems to think that if you delete a tweet, you've deleted it from history.

Very likely. After all, Wu's so busy that she hardly knows where she's going to be from one day to the next! That's why she has a dedicated staffer @gsxoffice
*yawn*

Also, obligatory reminder to everyone that this release date's not technically "missed" until midnight tomorrow. Don't worry, it WILL be missed.

I honestly don't even think Wu enjoys videogames. He has shelves upon shelves of great games Like Witcher 3 and XCOM that he doesn't have any playtime logged or trophies for. The shit he spergs about constantly is casual fare or pay to win crap. He reminds me of that friend everyone has who brags about being a heavyweight, gasps and chokes after taking a shot of tequila and then sheepishly nurses a wine cooler for the rest of the night.

He's fucking poser piece of shit.

Wasn't there a huge thing on her part about doing advertising and interviews on the game? What happened there?

That would involve someone actually caring enough about Wu or his game to talk to him.

Maybe that was true 2 years ago, but Bri-Bri has burned too many bridges and used up all the goodwill for him months ago.

she hacked her way through Final Fantasy X. like, if that doesn't say casual, I don't know what else does.
