Why do people watch Mutahar? What's the appeal? He's basically a random redditor talking into the camera, why does he have a following? Does he do anything special? His takes are literally opinions you could lift from reddit.

His current fanbase are probably people who initially watched his content when he did shit on garbage gaming creepypastas, virus investigations, and other tech news and info. It's a shame that he's just pajeet kritical now.

And I wouldn't call him a "massive leftist" either, given some of the more conservative viewpoints on sex and relationships he's expressed on some other people's streams like AugieRFC.

I'll bite: I like watching Mutahar because while he has Reddit-y opinions, he's nowhere near as unpalatable as Reddit itself (and has often made vicious fun of it in his videos). He's not terribly political and does as good of a job as possible at navigating those kinds of issues if they happen to come up, but otherwise knows his audience doesn't watch his videos for political commentary and tries to steer clear of it outside of talking about the three-letter agencies here in the US. But maybe that's me being a pragmatic, Center-Left leaning person and seeing him come off as fairly similar on the political compass.
I do appreciate his videos on cybersecurity, even if he kinda exaggerates things from time to time. It's an area he does seem legitimately familiar with, so I tend to take his opinions a little more seriously than someone who's just ginning people up for the sake of fearmongering.
But the real reason is that I find him far more tolerable to listen to than Critical, whose monotone voice makes him incredibly punchable.

I've watched him since the time he was doing creepypasta readings, 80% of his new content is cringe twitter drama trash and I think he's brainrotted a fair bit but every so often he still releases a deep web browsing or something that's pretty comfy to watch

*He had load of drama and shitty opinions, altho most of that is lost to time now. His ED article might have more
*Goth Sonic and Final Fantasy 7 fanboy who looks and has the exact same tastes you would expect
*His "magnum opus" is reviewing Sonic 06 like 4 different times
*Had a girlfriend and even a kid at some point, but she saw how much of a manchild he is(hasn't changed one bit from his late 2000s days) so she took the kid and now he has visitations
*Has gotten FAT, used to be called "Pikachu" in school(he admitted to it in a hilarious Pokemon video where he goes over his childhood memories, that includes him getting bullied over Pokemon in school)
*Has some really shitty opinions on games, for example he cried that in Metal Gear Rising the last boss is "just some politician" which wasn't cool or more recently he found Ada Wong's acting and character in nu-Resident Evil 4 Remake to be good, for some reason.
*Has deleted many of his older/lolcow videos, which are sadly lost to time. Many of his gaming reviews are still up, however
*Is STILL doing video game reviews since he has a dead end job via Patreon. Granted, they have gotten a lot better, but he still has many cringy jokes/bad takes(at least he is honest and doesn't seem to shill the games themselves)
It's funny how this guy somehow keeps popping up for me, time and time again. I dunno if anybody remembers him or ever watched him, but it seems to me that he is one meltdown away from becoming a proper lolcow, instead of just a somewhat private one that people like me occasionally watch(usually at his expense)

My, how shameful. His view count slightly increased when he realized that putting his jar-shaped soy head in the thumbnail was a bad idea, but that's still a tremendous embarrassment. It's eerie to learn that his biggest success was playing the fatty hack of sonic 2 after seeing what he became.

It’s hard to believe but there was a period of his career when he put a lot of effort into his video series. To this day he has some of the best content of niche content and is even used as a source for other videos. Those days are clearly in the rear view and he seems to be leaning into the crowded drama sphere.
