What if null never entertained nick's slimy insinuations by asking "who is interfering your business/who is breaking the rule/what do you want me to delete"? AKA pretending everything is fine unless nick outright admits it?

I think Nick would have twisted that into Null being aware of rule violations, but intentionally chosing to do nothing. It would have caused more problems, and not less.

As it stands, Null can justifiably and honestly claim he has no idea what the fuck Nick is talking about, because Nick won't clarify what the fuck he's talking about. Nobody else here seems to know what Nick is on about either.

That's my point though. That maybe playing dumb until Nick has to shout at the top of his lungs that null has to delete this thread on camera is the move.

I'm not sure Nick would have done that, because I think even he is cognizant of how bad it would have looked. It's why he's so passive-aggressive here. It suits him to keep whining about vague unspecified rule violations. Particularly if there are none. I think he knows he hasn't got a prayer in hell of the thread being deleted, so plan b is to to try and convince as many people as possible that his thread is untrustworthy and filled with untrustworthy people. All the while never truly elaborating as to why he feels that's the case.

The way it played out is fine. Nick made an accusation. Null asked for clarification/proof. Nick demurred. Null called Nick's bluff. As a result, Nick undeniably takes the L here.

Nick might have gotten something out of Null if he made a request or accusation in good faith, concerning a rule violation or a blatant untruth posted in this thread. But he didn't. Because that would require him to not be completely full of shit.

It's worth remembering that Montagraph approached Null, hat in hand, and asked for a targeted removal of the claim that he operated a photography studio that took naked pictures of children. Null agreed on the basis that there are indeed no facts in evidence to substantiate that claim.

This is distinguishable from Hedonism II, or anything involving Drex, in which there exists mountains of evidence.

That is why Montagraph succeeded with Null whereas Nick failed.

And I'm sure Nick is seething over it.

Listen, waking up at normal hours isn't something a normal, well adjusted, non-autistic gigachad like Nick can do. Because he isn't funny and never really has been. A lot of people (including Nick) are under the assumption he is funny because out of 100 hrs of streaming, someone got a couple of clips of him saying something funny. This has led people (including Nick) to think he has comedy shows.

Clean jokes, obscene jokes, family friendly, line crossing, whatever... if the joke isn't funny then it simply isn't funny. Nick hears a comedian make a "shock" joke and thinks that the humor comes from the shock. It doesn't. He doesn't understand what makes a joke funny.

To me, Nick's appeal had nothing at all to do with comedy. My main exposure to him was on the Dick Show and the reason he was an interesting guest was because he seemed sharp and had a pretty informed perspective on whatever he was talking about. Any time he'd make a joke, it wouldn't be funny, it'd just be something your boomer uncle would say that you'd groan at internally but keep to yourself because he's not actually a bad guy.

But because he is in a sector where being funny is a big draw, Nick (and likely Dick, who has a dog shit sense of humor) thought part of his appeal was comedy and leaned into it. It's no longer a "charming boomer uncle" situation but a "drunk pervert uncle who won't shut the fuck up" one. He lost all the wit and retained all the wet. Sad.
