These people have no understanding of history (both facts-wise and process-wise) beyond reading wikipedia pages and find-and-replace "entente" with "central powers".

A stock market crash like the great depression is structurally impossible in a world where Germany wins ww1. It just does not fit the reality of how the German capital markets worked; nor the realities of its economy (massive government intervention and price-fixing cartels looking out for social welfare and long term growth i.e. Rhineland capitalism).

OTL the Germans were not war-fatigued like the entente was (for many reasons, from cultural to practical like German trenches being mostly dry.)

These people should just start making visual novels in renpy with some Daz3d renders.

Not to mention the German collapse in the War occurred because of other factors. Lack of supplies due to the blockade and their geography, the whole collapse of Bulgaria and thean Austria-Hungary, and the fact the sailors began to mutiny. All this esternal pressue basically convinced the German government to go for a ceasefire. I mean shit, the only reason Germany really became a republic was because the more radical members of the ruling SPD declared it without consent of the actual SPD government and everyone basically went along because the situation was that bad. There was the famine, yes, and there was lack of material goods, but Germany was still producing a ton of industrial products. Really the only thing that kept the Entente going was the fact that pro-Anglo and pro-French financial and industrial interests were essentially pouring everything they had to those two countries in the form of predatory loans and material support.

If the sailors hadn't mutinied and made a widespread fear that what happened in Russia would repeat, the military would have probably told Wilhelm II he had no choice but to abdicate (Something he was trying to do while staying as King of Prussia) for his son in order to have a peace settlement that would work and maintain a stable government.

Instead, it all got fucked up and Germany had a cold civil war for a few years until the commies got put down and everyone was too tired to change anything.

Same shit happened in WW2, even a resource deprived Germany was a fucking beast after 1941 that basically just needed to be slowly outproduced as their industrial capabilities began to decrease in late 43/early 44 and the whole country had to be occupied in that war.

After almost exclusively playing KX since at least 2019 or 2020 I have to say that base KR feels so devoid of content that it's not even funny. Germany is just annoying to play now and everything just feels so, bland. I guess the new mod drought is going to continue.

I don't mind simple PP management minigames to represent the actions taken during the crisis, but I fucking hate when it goes this far. Is there a reasonable way to just skip it with console commands?

You can use the following to bypass the minigame if you forget to turn it off at the start;
set_var GER_investment 10000
set_var GER_stability 10000
set_var GER_debt 0
You'll only have to set debt once, user the Investment and Stability modifier at the start of each 'turn' of the card game.

I really dislike the new Germany update, it's gone from a slightly old but enjoyable nation to a proto-TNO.
Too much fucking around with politics (and if you get lost which which party is which you're fucked), easy for the ruling party to lose its majority and fuck up the tree. The military tree is decent, but there's no way to go down it if you want to manage all the rest of the bullshit.

Every once in a while I try to play vanilla HOI4 out of curiosity before remembering how fucking boring it is and get amazed at how fast 4speed is. I'm pretty sure I could get to 1945 within a few hours in vanilla HOI4.

I'm worried about EaW in the long run, it has some of the best Hoi4 content out there (Griffonia battle royale) and its likely never going to get butchered but so far whats been added to Zebrica has been disappointing. Could just be because the continent isn't fleshed out yet but it feels railroady in a bad way and Kiria has so much reading in it that if you told me TNO devs did it I'd believe you.

It's probably deeper than a simple misunderstanding of historical processes. Because the people making these mods tend to be very ideologically motivated themselves, they see the world through their ideology only. It's no secret that many political decisions are made out of practical and not ideological reasons. So instead of reasoning out the pressures and incentives that leaders are put through, they replace everything with ideology. I would guess that the reason they believe an economic crash would happen in Germany just like the USA is because they see Imperial Germany as one dimensional.

I tried out Germany today in KR and barely got into 1937 the mechanics for debt and the elections were so fucking confusing. Why even bother having coalition elections and shit when von Scheiler just gets appointed because of a stalemate anyways? The whole rework looked good on paper but it feels like nobody outside of the mod team play tested it at all.

Panzer is so weak willed with so low of a sense of self worth that he folds to any kind of peer pressure/grooming and does not understand the long term ramifications of what those actions might lead to. Whether it is becoming a Neo-Nazi on stormfront or flipping to become a Vaush breadtube fanboy, then wanting to help out some Chinese Communist modding farm and then finally becoming trans out of someone telling him he was an egg without knowing or caring the full ramifications of what that might entail.

I will agree that the Kiria update was disappointing to me too, far too much writing and not enough gameplay to sink my teeth into. On the other hand I did like Colthage and Chirroptera, the Star Father path especially was a good one, so maybe all hope isn't lost. I think someone earlier in the thread put it best, when you have MLP autism and map game autism meet, they somehow manage to cancel each other out and make something good.

Ironically it was this exact shit that resulted in so many of the people of germany in the 1930s and 1940s doing the shit they did and why so many apolitical and apathetic individuals were so content to go along with overt acts of mass murder and atrocity without any objection or reflection despite never giving a single genuine fuck about the cause they were engaging in murder and atrocity for, but that little reality has long since been retconned to evil swastika magic infecting people with raysism and evilness on the atomic level
