I still find it funny how the lynchpin of Fishtank, the man without whom it wouldn't have been conceived in the first place, Jet Neptune, is the one who gets it the least. It's shocking how much better the non-Jet episodes are and how defensive he is of his vision which is completely against how everyone else viewed the show. Normally I would give him the benefit of the doubt that his constant wrangling of the show to keep it from imploding the entire time tainted his view, but Ben was wrangling the whole time too and his episodes get it. The only conclusion is Jet's a retard and should be kept out of the editing room unless he's taking orders, not giving them.

Finished episode 8 and my opinion of Frank Hassle remains the same. He's a tryhard who wants to seem badass but has to resort to the gay schoolyard bully routine to make content. He doesn't have the comedic talent or intelligence that Sam has to be entertaining so he does the lowest common denominator "I'm going going to get in your face knowing there is nothing you can do about it" shit. Anyone whos decently sized could do the content he does.
Frank's comedy mostly comes from crossing the border of what's acceptable behavior and causing normies brains to meltdown as they try to process it. I find it pretty entertaining because either you can see how they genuinely have trouble processing the events or they just flip out completely at him and embarrass themselves. Turns out that doesn't really work on a show with a bunch of terminally online weirdos who have already been tortured for several weeks beforehand and literally have no choice but to endure it. Honestly, he went pretty easy on them too it definitely wasn't even a full hassling like you'd see in his videos and the only reason I can think of why is because they were genuinely worried he'd make contestants leave.

Also, as you said, his comedy is watching the people he's fucking with. He had a brief window where Letty thought he was a faggot from Portland and then it closed almost immediately when Vance explained Frank to her.

Haven't seen that episode yet, but Frank is an odd one. I watched some of his videos before Fishtank and, well, they don't make him look good. Obviously he isn't trying to. There is absolutely some humor in his antics, but I agree that it's the cheapest kind of thing imaginable. I might have liked it a lot more when I was 16, but as an adult harassing people in not-so-clever ways can only be so funny (not very). That said, I thought he was pretty good on Fish Tank. I wasn't watching the show very actively by the time he came on, but I liked what I saw. Maybe it's just because harassing Fish is more fair game than being an absolute cunt to people in public. Whatever it was, the schtick worked better.

Similarly, I've never been a Sam Hyde fan. I watched some of MDE when it came out and it didn't do anything for me. There were some good skits in that show and in his prior work, but most of it didn't get any reaction from me. More recently, the Idubbz thing was fun, but it's still odd to me that Fish Tank is the only thing he's done that I've unambiguously liked.

A great point. The fish had already gone through so much hell by the time he got there they were conditioned not to react. Most of the fish didn't even react to being hassled. Only Mauro and Sylvia (the two weakest people on the show) had meltdowns. Josie barely reacted to hassling, Vance barely reacted, Letty barely reacted. Frank would get up in someones face like Vance hassle him and it would just be weird and uncomfortable. Frank knowing he can't actually hit them and the fish knowing they can't touch him. I thought that was lame and got old quickly.

Frank harasses manlets, old people, women and people with down syndrome.

He's extremely stupid and has to protect himself with a veil of irony to hide the fact he's a complete loser.

He's gonna die soon. Nigga is fat and lazy.

He's a bully and his videos are really the bottom of the barrel.

Some of his videos are funny tho in a toillet humor kind of way.

I think the most important question is, why is there weird dark watermarks over some of the subtitles, but only in episode 8 and even then partially? Makes you wonder if Jet's copy of captioning software ran out of trial halfway through editing or something.

So they fuck up last week and delay episode 8, promise that we'll get two episodes this week, almost fuck up ep8 AGAIN and straight up ignore episode 9, as if we'd forget about it?
Am I missing something? Has Jet or whoever explained themselves?

Thank you frens who pay for this shit service and put links up for the rest of us.

Also, how did you guys feel about day 33 in episode 8? It is the day that stuck the most with me. It was so despairing seeing Letty so defenseless and how no one did anything about it or even considered how fucked up any of that was.
I guess it does not fit the narrative or whatever the fuck, as only a verbal reference to the toilette water and the house shouting "where is she" made the cut. At least we got to see Frank hit the back of his head like a retard with his own trap. Wish they had at least kept him setting it up.

The way Frank almost exclusively goes after manlets and women when he's a huge guy is so cowardly and gay.

defending my point of "people who start streaming have to start out terrible," today Erick Hayden is... playing Super Monkey Ball? Not exactly an ideal format...

Already he's quit playing the game and is talking to their producer guy Hugh rather than run it alone. He mentioned the trailer and idk, no insights there, just "it was fun to work with everyone!"

I'm wondering where they're going with having Nick, Sam, Charls & Erick, Charls, now just Erick, all streaming, if all the retards from Season 2 start streaming as well they're going to be seeding an insanely large content pseudo-network from one channel to at least a dozen Youtube streaming shows in a year. Sam and MDE as a whole don't have to answer for the things that former contestants and freeloaders do, but their associations will get blurry if as they said they're bringing Vance back, and probably Jon back, and probably a lot of others.

I knew there was no way they were going to show it, it reflected badly on the whole production. Considering how whipped Frank looked after they told him off for it I don't think it went over their heads how bad that looked.

Can you give me a refresher of what happened to Letty on day 33?

Chris unclogging the upstairs toilet with his barehands (He went elbow deep in the bowl btw) getting totally covered in other peoples piss water then screaming over his bag was golden. View attachment 5544784
Chris yelling out of the blue in front of Josie was pretty funny.

I don't care what anyone says Chris and his completely unhinged mental illness saved the fishtank. His unpredictability and outbursts created content when nothing else was happening in the house. He was vital to the last third of the Fishtank.

I must vehemently disagree. He was an assault to the eyes and ears to those watching and plus the nose to those who had to be around him. He's completely grotesque and I stopped watching when he showed up, I couldn't do it.

I can't find the video anymore but in one vid he's at target and harasses a old guy and his son with down syndromes comes to protect his dad and Franks doubles down and hassles even the down syndrome son.
He rarely goes after black people and when he does it's woman or non-violent men.

Good to know I am not the only one that had trouble with him.

Like I don't want something that repulsive on my screen (same reason I don't follow Cyrax)

First of all, excuse me If I misremember or miss anything. I've briefly tried to look for some videos on yt but there seems to be little to none. It's appreciated if any farmer fact checkes me.

After a one day absence, ASF comes back to the house. He's smoking a joint and offers it to his house mates. Letty takes his offer.
After everyone notices, they began to mock her about it, saying that she's lost and about to get kicked out. TTS is relentless, too. I believe the production team tells her that they are going to drug test her o something like that and while this all goes down, Frank comes back to the house. They greet him, yadda yadda, and Frank kicks open the bathroom door with Mauro inside and that whole episode goes down, setting a somber tone for the evening.
At this point you can tell that Letty is not feeling it. She's withdrawn and stays upstairs while the rest of the house is downstairs.
At some point Frank goes upstairs with a cup in his hand, goes to her br and throws the contents onto her. He makes sure to tell her that it's toilette water on his way out. Letty is frozen, sitting on her mattres. She's facing the door so we don't get to see her face, but she's pretty much in disbelief. She doesn't say anything.
From this point she spends the rest of the evening in and out of the shower, as Frank keeps pouring toilette water each time she's out of the bathroom. In the video I linked in the spoiler she said that Frank threw water to her 3 times. I don't remember the specifics so my retelling is a bit rough.
Worth to note that Letty is just a husk of a person atp. She doesn't try to do anything, just goes from the shower to her room and tries to sleep til Frank comes for her and repeat. It's pretty dehumanizing.
While this is happening, Brandon Buckingham and the black prostitute come to the house and that unfolds. Josie and Vance just roll with whatever the freeloaders are up to while Letty is fucked in her room. Whenever Frank goes upstairs and she's showering, he goes to her room to screw with her stuff (what remains, that is). Even Buckingham tags along because why not. At some point, Frank puts water in front of the bathroom's door so Letty trips on he way out. Karma is a bitch and Frank is the only one that falls.
After some time, Letty decides that she's had enough and goes to the basement. The whole house (including Vance and Josie) is shouting "where is she" and calling her. Then I believe Frank is called downstairs and the torment is over for the night.

In the very first stream that Sam and Jet do with Josie and Letty, she's asked via superchat about the moment she was the most shocked and talks about day 33. She explained that she hit the joint because she didn't believe that the rules mattered much at that point and that the constant talk about her being eliminated got her in a weird mental state. My guess is that she realized that she had just given this people the perfect excuse to give her the boot or screw her over if they ever needed it, and consequently felt pretty dumb and defeated (that plus the weed). She was paranoid.

While looking for clips and such to check things, I stumbled upon this archive by some dudes calling themselves after Simmons lol.
I guess it's nothing new to the season pass holders, but it's good to know this exists nonetheless.
Haven't tried to download anything yet, but here's the link if anyone is interested.

So if you saw episode 8 Frank came in and bullied Mauro out, right, and that was after Letty smoked weed. That's where I'm gonna start (like I said I rewatched it recently and even did bullet points as I went because I keep coming back around to talk about day 33 and wanted to stop forgetting exactly how it went)

Letty comes downstairs once things have died down and the entire house starts telling her go the fuck upstairs, you smoked weed, you're gonna be eliminated anyway, get outta here, so she goes upstairs.
Frank breaks Josie's fidget cube, then goes upstairs and collects all the half-empties from around the second floor, pours them into one cup, and dumps it on Letty. Letty looks visibly pained, as there's alcohol in her eyes, Frank and Vance make fun of her and leave. She goes to the bathroom to wash her eyes out (shower #1) and he steals Letty's shoes because she's not there to fuck with and puts them on the fridge. Vance sees this and asks why he's being spared and Frank says he will get around to him, then fills a cup with water from the toilet (it's not a prank, you can see him bend over for it), and eyeballs Josie with it. Vance tells him to pour it on Letty so he sets it aside.
She comes downstairs clean, and Frank gets up and splashes it on Letty. Letty looks like, "okay, it's water, I'm already wet," so Frank asks the other two contestants to back him up that yes, it's water from the toilet. She freezes in disgust then goes upstairs to clean herself off, (shower #2), then hides under a blanket in her room. Frank returns once more so she sits up, and he throws toilet water "right in her face" as he brags later. She doesn't believe it's toilet water so he tells her over and over, yes, it's toilet water. Brandon tells her it's piss and to "Get him back." Frank ashes on her and spits on her, then tells the cameraman to get a close up of her covered in toilet water while Vance and Josie tell her she'll get another shot to fuck Chris once Soraya is gone. Then he ashes on her head again. Her voice is wavering throughout this but she doesn't complain, she just replies to him saying "why are you covered with toilet water?" with "you poured it on me." No whining at all.

She retreats to the basement where I think we can assume she tells Jet what's been happening. Way later that night she tells Vance that she what upset her most was that Jet told her she was not allowed to get Frank back and I think on stream she said she went down there mostly to cry where she couldn't be seen. Jet presumably tells her that he will tell Frank that toilet water is off limits.

While she is gone, Frank comes back and looks for her while holding a red solo cup. Then he brings Brandon into her room, grinds his boots into her sheets, then ashes on her belongings, then opens her suitcase and grinds his boots into it, then pours mustard into it, and Brandon pours shampoo all over the room. When Letty returns they make fun of her for having a messy room. She goes into B4 to pick out some remaining clean clothes from her hidden stash there and every single person (Vance, Josie, Alex, Frank, and Brandon) follows her in and screams at her for being a whore and interrupting Chris' sex. Frank ashes on her clothes again, then climbs into the drawer and grinds his boots on her final clean clothes. When they leave, Tax asks her how she's doing right now, and she says "Good."
Frank gets called into the basement and is given the business by production, he calls Alex over when he comes back upstairs and tells him they have to "be less mean."
Sam and Ben enter her room after her third shower and ask her what she's up to, she says she's deciding what clothes to throw out but otherwise not much is going on. Jet comes through and asks if she's giving up or just tired and she says "Just tired."
Frank complains to Vance and Josie that he's not allowed to throw toilet water anymore, and calls Vance a bitch, a pussy, etc. for not fucking with Letty and for being boring and that his fans are all bored of him, and makes fun of his girlfriend's forehead after a TTS says she looks like Code Lyoko. Then Frank spits in a cup and throws it in Josie's face. Josie leaves to take a shower. Letty comes downstairs, Vance challenges her for being gone for so long and she says it's because Frank covered her in toilet water, he says it's karma and she deserved it.
Frank grapples Vance to get him to shave his head and chases him around for about a minute or so. Vance, after previously deciding to do so when he decided to join the show, has his head shaved, by Josie. Letty goes back upstairs to go to sleep, Frank and Alex come upstairs to wake her up and Frank spits on her bed. Back downstairs Frank says he wants to set off fireworks in Letty's room because if she dies only ten people on Twitter would care. Alex says Letty quit when Frank appeared and is scared of him. Chris says he wants Frank to fuck with Letty until she quits.
Some time after Frank leaves via the basement.

It's the sheer disproportionate amount of things that he did to Letty, and his irritation when challenged for focusing on her and Vance's stupid act when Letty told him later that Frank took it easy on him. He might've gotten Josie with the spit cup but it was like 10 mL of spit versus 400mL of shitty, pissy toilet water.

sorry @Thillo Thon i saw you finished yours but I was 80% done with mine.

who would have thought? /sneed This is literally a big reason why reality tv shows don't shoot over christmas. especially because its not just the contestants, you also are fucking over the crew doing this. the only two times survivor finished filming after december 10th are considered the worst seasons by both the cast, crew, and viewers. Something in humans really gets shitty around the christmas season and makes everyone fucking miserable. Having only the saddest losers on the planet who would in fact prefer living in a "hell house" vs being with friends and family is going to make this season fucking awful, you really think a Josie or Letty or Jon would not want to be around family during christmas?. I bet the crew isn't going to be happy campers about it either. So if you think you've seen some lazy, shitty crew on fishtank. Get ready for 3 weeks from now. I bet the crew won't even be doing any challanges during dec 22-26 and they'll be maybe 2 crew actually inside the house with the cast that entire time. meaning its a waste of everyones fucking time.
Jet and Sam don't realize that even the terminally online spazes and autists that make up the potential fishtank contestant pool have better family relationships than they do and don't want to be away from them during the holiday season even if they have nothing else going on in their life. Kind of a very large but understated L on their part.
