I used to attend a writer's group and they'd often have editors from big and small publishers. They more or less said they'll treat your manuscript like a resume: if it doesn't get their attention right away it gets dumped. Their biggest concern is return of investment. If you aren't going to be profitable, your work will either end up in dollar stores or will never be published.

It's a business at the end. Once you accept that it becomes less a hobby and more work.

But it’s not like the mainstream porn people expect. Girl on girl porn made for the male gaze is not lesbian porn. The lesbian porn they like is made by lesbians, for lesbians. It focuses less on the aesthetics, and more on invoking arousal.

You know, I love the laughs that this site gives me. But every once in a while it really hits hard when you realize that these people are taken seriously by a huge portion of society rather than universally mocked.
