I do an annual reread of my favorite books during the Christmas season. I'm not sure why, but it's just something that feels nice. This year I have added Fat Pat's thread to the reading list. If I continue this for a few more years I will become an expert in Pat. If civilization ends I could keep this thread alive by retelling it around a fire while we rebuild. His story, his girth, his lesbian wife, all of it will live on as an oral tradition.
