So turbotroon Marina (the one that was part of the Pikamee harassment during Hogwarts Legacy) was trying to abuse that new "topless meta" while not reading any of the rules and they ate a ban.

Likely a temp ban as always but apparently those actually really hurt streamers according to Thor

for some I guess I could see it being as big a deal as he's making it out to be, but ya gotta take into account how much of twitch is just people throwing around gift subs. Like I'd be surprised to see anyone but super small streamers that have even 50% of their subs being recurring subs and not just random gift recipients that get thrown around every month.

edit to continue because I went and actually checked some data on it.

Pulled up Thor's info on streamcharts to use as an example.

What he's talking about being a huge deal here are resubscribers, looking at his subscriber data resubs are 2% of his active subscriptions on twitch. Gifts on the other hand are 67%

Very true, it is a per-individual basis. For huge streamers, they just constantly see subs getting thrown around left and right. I am curious about what the data for new subscriptions indicates. Are those people that subbed for the first time manually instead of receiving subs for the first time? Because if that's the case, that's a very sizeable chunk of 30% and over time those might fall into the resub category over time.

Ironmouse has 53% of her subs as resubs.

Shylily is at 47%

Vei is sitting at 64%

Meanwhile Filian bucks the trend at 19%

Like if you look at Kai Cenat, one of the biggest streamers on Twitch, and he has 76% of his subs as resubs.

Shroud has 60% of his subs as resubs.

Summit has 79% of his subs as resubs

Meanwhile Marina has a more noticeable portion of resubscribers.

Get fucked troon. And so we can all remember how much a piece of shit he is.
Since nobody seemed to have covered this. Might as well, Remember MarinaVT, one of the spearheads of the Pikamee harassment movement. Well, she recently was brought in as a new member for a sponsorship from a drink.

Turns out people don't forget when you are a grifting piece of shit, and they have made their voices against Marina clear. This is just the Quote tweets. View attachment 5331112

The comments aren't flaring any better. It got so bad that both Marina had to sent her simps to try to damage control, and the comments were closed off like a bunch of pussies

Edit: Taiga Shrimp who was accused by Marina of being a Pedo has spoken on the matter.

I think as well an area where I might disagree with what Thor was saying is that, while this is something that it's not really possible to get hard data on, My gut feeling would be that those resubs lost during that 3 day ban aren't just straight up losses unless they were very specifically people that just left the resub option on and forgot about it.

I would personally wager that a larger chunk of those resub viewers are people still following the streamer, and still getting notifications for the streamer when they go live. And the next time they tune in and see they aren't subbed and don't have emotes or whatever from that channel, they'll just end up reupping their subscription anyway. Like I'm sure there is some bleed off from people who set it and forget it but I feel like a lot more of them are still actively following the streamer and aren't going to just "forget" to resub again.

I wish that Randon would lay off on the World of Warcraft and get to Fear and Hunger II.
He's a WoW addict that likely played WoW during his early teenage years. That type of addiction is nearly impossible to break.

Definitely, I was just speaking more to the point against "bans do nothing" that people always spout whenever someone eats a temp ban.

I'm pretty sure he's said he plans to use WoW as his chill, head-empty stream game. (Similar to how other people might use minecraft).

Saruei and Annytf both ate Twitch bans over the nudity rules, but the former was bullshit and the latter was a mass report by antis.
honestly I don't expect this "new relaxed TOS" to last for twitch.
I think people are really stretching the definition of "artistic nudity" and the advertisers are going to start losing their shit eventually and Twitch is gonna walk it back.

Oh, I've seen MULTIPLE threads on Twitter talking about Marina eating the banhammer.

While most are rightly calling him out on outright breaking the rules, a few tried defending him, only to be drowned out.

The only weird part about it is that some are INSISTING on everyone respecting Marina's pronouns, even if he is a walking piece of shit.

Yeah, any respect I would've had for them, thankfully, jumped out the window. Don't care about pronouns, if you're a piece of shit, you deserve ZERO respect and zero courtesy.

Unrelated, but I just feel that YT shorts is kind of better with their contents than TikTok. Sure, some of them are just reuploaded tiktok, but at least YT shorts has a better algorithm in filtering some of those tiktok low IQ bs
I hate shorts. Their format is an offense to my eyes on computer. You can't adjust volume so you take it as it is. And usually the audio balance is god awful. So if tik tok has a volume adjust its already ahead of Shorts.

Incredible. Gift subs seem like such a waste in that scenario. I'd rather just have someone donate cash to me through a third party that probably takes less of a cut than twitch.

Whens that vtuber award ceremony thing?
