This goes beyond hiding his misdeeds at this point. LFJ has spent what is likely hundreds of thousands dollars to take down a niche gossip forum smaller than most medium to large Sub-Reddits. He must truly believe that taking down the site will somehow magically fix his trainwreck of a life. A life he himself created through his own stupidity.

Jones is a pawn in their machinations, and Cogent's CEO is an "ex spook" (there is no such thing as an "ex spook", he's still an asset, now in control of a major internet backbone company)
The entire point is to seek out or simply create via defamation "scoundrels" to act as the wedge by which they normalize the destruction of freedom of speech in the United States, because they know better than the plebs who need to shut up.
The next step is the "intellectual property" sector, who can now take Cogent and every ISP who cooperated to court and claim they are acting in bad faith by refusing to give the kiwifarms treatment to bit torrent and various DDL sites.
Etc. etc. until we look like the UK, where dissent elicits midnight raids.
If anyone who reads this is connected politically, the solution to this is to use prominent Jews and beloved public figures like Nigel Farage who have been deplatformed as "racist" for tracking jihadis (read: hamas) to push for "common carrier"/"public accomodations" laws in banking and internet services.
What these glowies do can be done in reverse to restore freedom.
