Rocksteady teases Suicide Squad game

It looks like some sort of mind-numbing amalgamation of Borderlands, Fortnite, and Saint's Row 4.

As soon as I saw damage numbers popping out of that silly looking tank with glowing pink weak spots I knew I was going to hate everything about this. I wonder whether this game design is purely the product of passionless boardroom design or if there are actual obese soyboy gamedevs working their dream job and pogging out of their gourds going "DUDE WHAT IF WE HAD TALENT TREES LIKE IN WOW!" Possibly both...

If its true about this being Conroys last role and it goes how the leaks suggest WB and Rocksteady can fuck off.

This game is really going to be a product of its time. Everyone is sick to death of the "relatable quirky villains" that Reddit, troons and danger hairs love. A good example of this will be Baldur's Gate 3. Larian, for fun, decided to see what what kind of characters people liked to play in their game. Overwhelming people played as good, hero type characters over bad, villain type characters. Even with the Dark Urge people played them as the redeemed hero over a unrepentant villain. Not saying that every game should have you playing as a goody two shoes type character but this speaks to how tired and sick to death people are of "relatable villains".
Every villain movie has bombed at the box office. People don't want to play as the "LMAO! Random quirky relatable villain" who kills their childhood heroes. Problem is, and this speaks to the rot that is in the souls of many Western writers today, is that they can't relate to the heroes. The heroes are problematic, heteronormative, cis gender, and boring. These people can only relate to the villains as the villains are cool, quirky, queer and "LMAO! So random!" just like them. These people are so utterly out of touch with the average person that it is mind boggling. They have never interacted with people outside their small bubble.

I for one will be popping champagne when Rocksteady shuts down.
And shut down they will. WB can't afford another financial loss right now. They are on the verge of declaring bankruptcy. They were hoping that this game would make Hogwarts Legacy money and then some with the live service crap. This game is going to bomb hard and lose WB probably about around 200-400 million dollars. This game bombing is the last thing WB needed right now. With both their upcoming bankruptcy and the bomb that this game will be WB is going to axe a lot of shit and I think Rocksteady will be the first to see heads roll.

I'm fine with killing off Batman in a game, I'm fine with playing the villains who do it; I'm not fine with the protag of four games being killed off in a game, with the premise basically rendering the ending of the last game pointless, where he can't get a proper send off because the narrative is framed through the eyes of character who don't give a shit about him. This can't an emotional or powerful death scene because our main characters are a bunch of quirky, remorseless chuckle fucks who only see Batman as an obstacle, while the only characters who'd actually give weight to Batman's death are either not present or under brainwashing that renders them incapable of having any actual reaction to it.

I don't think contemporary audiences know how to roleplay as an evil character (their understanding of evil is tainted by soft and fuzzy modern media), nor do I think studios are willing to make questlines or characters that are both unambiguously evil and not over the top reddit or meme shit. The best they can do when it comes to portraying evil is to keep the villain at a distance and not delve too deeply into actual motivations. In the back of every exec's mind is how to avoid being blamed for the next Eric Harris. In many ways getting DEI hires and consulting groups like Sweet Baby on board insulates them from fallout as the media can't speak too badly of card carrying members of the cathedral but the associated cost is the infinite permeating reddit.

This is, more or less, Western writers today. They don't see evil as evil but rather as "misunderstood", "quirky", or "victims". Look at every villain that has come out from companies like Disney or WB. They are either:
1. Wronged by a white man.
2. Misunderstood.
3. Has a tragic backstory.
4. Are white men who comically want to keep women and minorities down.

Now the first three points are ones that make every SJW and danger hair relate more to the villain. Look at how many of these people related to Killmonger and said he was in the right despite the fact that his grand goal was to kill all white people. I remember Neil Cuckmann's self-insert with those stupid cards you picked up in The Last of Us 2 had him as a "misunderstood villain who wanted to create a better world for his people". These people are incapable of relating to heroism or goodness. They also have a very warped understanding of evil. To them evil is misunderstood and "in the right" because "the ends justify the means" or "they were oppressed and the oppressed deserve to strike back at those that wronged them". Harley's speech to Batman about how he; "Caused untold mental damage to the misunderstood villains of Gotham." Really speaks to how disgusting and rotted the souls of these people are.

TBH Warner deserves to go bankrupt with all the stupid shit they keep doing. They have a few hits every once and a while like Hogwarts Legacy, but most of the time they make complete dogshit, well at least in recent years, and I don't expect them to get better, with them going all in on live services and keeping around these people who clearly hate their fans.

I mean wasn't this game written by Sweet Baby Inc. after all?
Yep! And rumors have it that Sweet Baby Inc. has become so toxic among gamers and with every game of theirs bombing that Rockstar is telling Sweet Baby Inc. to not mention on their website that they worked on GTA 6. This is funny to me as game devs during the Game Awards were happy to give out a "fuck you!" to gamers by mentioning that their games where written by Sweet Baby Inc. but now they are hiding it. Cat is out of the bag now and they can't put it back in.

Where's the leaked summary for this shit?

Look if they undo batman and the justice league's death with time travel, cool. It's still really, REALLY fucking dumb. But it'll be manageable.... maybe. who the fuck am I kiding this is dogshit and I dont want to play it.

I cant believe I had some cautious optimism about the plot. This was a stupid idea, for a stupid game that should have been released years ago. The suicide squad has passed it's expiration date, and my god was it a serious horrific mistake to cancel that superman game in favor of this. People could have used something positive and cheery in these miserable times.

People want positive experiences in their lives. You can be dark, you can do dark stories. but killing beloved icons isnt something you can sell easy. Especially when you do it in the most demeaning, emasculating way possible. The ass kissing im hearing from shills on twitter is just infuriating.

If they kill off batman and replace him with an alt universe living batman im going to be so pissed.

Eh warhammer 40k rogue trader allows you to go pretty hard as both a socially acceptable genocidal "good guy" and a demon worshiping bad guy.

Oh that is hilarious. At least they are self aware enough that there is the faintest possibility they'll change things to appeal to consumers. maybe... There are attractive babes at least.

If any of you guys want to know what the definition of cope is go on Twitter and type Suicide Squad and read all the tweets from Reddit soyboys defending this game saying; "White Right Wing snowflakes (yes the top tweet defending this game calls critics White Right Wing snowflakes) being shocked that a game called Kill The Justice League kills the Justice League." Also, you will notice that a lot of these Reddit fanboys have a huge Like counter. Take it with a grain of salt as WB has admitted in the past to using bots to inflate the likes of their defenders and fanboys in order to silence criticism and dissent. They are in full damage control right now.

Consumers about to consume a shitty FotM GaS game published by the same company that made them their hated Hoggy-Wartz to "own the chuds"

I don't think this is the "Own" they think it is. Looking forward to capeshit loving Reddit soyboys crying at next years Game Awards over this game not being nominated for a award.

The problem is that DC and WB are way behind Marvel. They keep trying to turn the Suicide Squad into their Guardians of the Galaxy. That is a huge mistake. The Guardians are more or less misfits with hearts of gold who do the right thing and save the day. Not to mention that they have genuine love and camaraderie with each other. The Suicide Squad are made up of unrepentant bad guys who hate each other and are forced to work together under the threat of death. Without that constant threat of death they will go back to killing each other or innocents. People can't relate to the Suicide Squad as they can with the Guardians for obvious reasons. Yet DC and WB have for years kept trying to push the Suicide Squad as the next big thing. They are not and never will be.

This is wisdom right here.

I want to add to it: I think the Guardians' time has now past with the conclusion of its Trilogy. GotG always struck me as a way to sneak in the Fantastic Four's sci-fi and family bickering stuff as much as setting up cosmic Marvel in the movies, with the FF now coming up GotG is now redundant to the "true" "A-list" team in terms of importance to Marvel and historic superhero fandom and will always pale in storytelling potential and relatability to Marvel's First Family. And there's a reason for that, a lot of superheroes solo and teams alike can't just carry a continuing book, adaption, whatever. In comparison to that Suicide Squad is not, and never will be, on the level of the Titans in long-term and genuine popularity, much less the Justice League. Until the movie made it a known name it was debatably on the level of the Outsiders, if that. Debatably.

Not just that. Suicide Squad is even less stable than the Guardians as a continuing thing based on the very fact it's made up to be not just villains, but killed-off ones. When you start putting in permanent big names in the team like Harley or uplifting King Shark and Boomerang into series regulars, you can't kill them off anymore, you can't even have them kill off anything vaguely popular unless the adaption will be a closed story.

So DC's would-be Guardians equivalent, which isn't meant to be much more than a fun one-off mini-series, is about to crash and burn as a toxic brand AFTER their company equivalent is likely going to fade into the abyss, when they could've cut their losses with at least Gunn's SS. Who would've thought with all the brand damage the DCEU did to DC Universe, one of them is artificially propping up an edgelord premise for supervillains as a "big name" for the universe compared to the far more important and beloved Teen Titans that haven't popped up in anything truly big since their cartoon (TTGo aside), or botched solo films of the Justice League charter/mainstay members (Flash, Green Lantern, WW84, Aquaman 2)? Honestly.

A Teen Titian's game would have sold like hot cakes. All you had to do was have a decent premises, bring back the characters and voice actors from the animated series, have the trailer song be the theme song from the animated show to play on millennials nostalgia for the show and there would have been countless videos of manchildren and Reddit soyboys crying on camera and making soyjack faces in happiness. Truth be told I am glad they didn't make a Teen Titan's game. Given that video games today are more or less created by insecure danger hairs and trannies imagine the crimes against nature they would have done to Starfire and Raven.
