Voice Actors - Complain about American/Canadian ones, Gush about Japanese ones, I guess

Nah, not underage-young. Just young. The 19-21 crowd. Had my friend been witness to that sort of shit I doubt he would've just saved it around as a funny story to tell without alerting the authorities.

Vic though, if it had been any other actor I'd be touting a story like that as an example of how cool VAs can be with their fans. But Vic is Vic. It's been a good ten years but I hope my sister never finds out about these skeevy stories coming from the guy, it made her day back then

//edit and if we're talking amateurs, nothing can top the Voice Acting Alliance. A handful of members have gotten pro work (Cristina Vee comes to mind) but the vast majority of the member base are kiddies doing fandubs of the same animes over and over again so they can pretend that they "are" their favourite characters. Also GrantM got his start there, so there's that.

Didn't Jessica Nigri also do voice-work? I heard she was in RWBY.

I looked up Vic a little while ago after hearing all the gossip about him - from what I can see he turns his convention panels into sermons and seems to be quite full of himself. There were also a bunch of people objecting to him voicing a character in the anime "Free!" because of his anti-homosexual views.

Guess I'll play devil's advocate on the subject of Vic. Spoiler'd cuz it's a personal story.

I met Vic a few months ago. He came off as a really sweet guy and didn't go preachy on us at all. Granted, this was just my own experience, but my mindset for the rumors is to take them with a grain of salt.

Though if I had to say there's something that could come off as questionable about him, it's how he likes to call girls "sweetheart" and can invade your personal space without asking if you're okay with that. My friend and I gave him flowers at one point, and afterwards he hugged us and kissed us both on the cheek. It didn't make me or my friend uncomfortable, but I can definitely see how it would bother others.

Of course, I'm not so blind as to believe he's perfect and hasn't said or done anything wrong whatsoever, but I don't think he's this horrible molestor that so many of the rumors make him out to be. But that's just my two cents. I haven't had any bad experiences with the voice actors I've met so far.

Chris Ayres doing Frieza is the best fucking thing to happen in Kai because he makes Frieza frightening instead of turning him into a lame tranny joke.

Sean Schemmel(sp?) is the best Goku dub voice imho but I miss Brian Drummond and Scott McNeil as 'Geets and Pickleface. Chris Sabat makes them sound too similar and it grates on me.

Drummond's Vegeta voice made me a Vegeta fan 4 lyfe.

Personally, I'd say the stories vary with their believability. In that there's a few I can imagine to be true (anything revolving around his ego or religion, except maybe the "church panel"). Others, not so much.

Still don't really see the appeal in the guy though.

Weeaboo Stories have a huge archive of Vic Mignogna stories. I heard he slept with an Ed Elric cosplayer.

Illich Guardiola (Saiyuki, Cromartie High school) was arrested for sexual assault.

But I know Greg Ayres have been rumored to be bi.

My thing is with Mignogna was that he is obviously homophobic, but is good friends with Chris Patton who is openly gay and Greg. I also know Mignogna has been a pain on the ads for anime convention runners for going over time on his panels and injecting his religion into it.
