Canada is a failed state

If money wasn't an obstacle where would you honestly go?
That's tricky. If money was completely not an obstacle I would own a house here or further north where I could have a garden and such. I miss the trees where I grew up, my hometown was carved out from a forest so I would walk through a forest path to school despite being in a residential neighborhood. I'd probably try to find a place like that. But the more important thing is figuring out what kind of work I could do. I've been operating as a CNC operator and make a shit machinist which would limit me to cities with a major manufacturing base. I need to switch to a trade where I can find work in a small town. I'm going to try to get into automotive service and being a mechanic once my leg heals more.

The real story is seven strangers living in a single townhouse that likely only has two bedrooms (maybe three).
It's also not just that townhouse, the one next door also has seven "new Canadians" living in it:
There's a reason why this is happening and it's been built into the system in Ontario.

The way that residential tenancies are legislated in Ontario, if you rent your property to people and they decide to just stop paying rent or trash the place, you have to go to the Landlord and Tenant Board to get an eviction order. The LTB is backed up with about a year waitlist right now. So the tenants can just live in your property for a whole year rent free before you can get rid of them, and good luck getting that rent they owe in small claims court.

However, there's one loophole in the RTA that bypasses this horseshit: If you rent residential space out to someone and either the kitchen or washroom is shared with the landlord, or the "landlord's agent", the tenancy doesn't fall under the RTA and you can evict the tenants at any time for any reason with zero notice.

So the landlords are incentivized to rent their condo/house out to a bunch of pajeets paying $500 a month for half a bedroom each. The landlord just designates one as their "agent" for a reduced rent, so can evict any of them without the hassle.

BC is equally pozzed, but Alberta and the other prairie provinces aren't and landlords can just boot the tenants or raise the rent as they see fit.

I can't afford to leave. I wish I could. Things are getting worse and worse and there's no upwards mobility. But what to do? Other countries want productive people with dosh. Canada drained all of mine.
The money I have is bound to run dry soon enough which is why I am stocking up on as much silver and gold possible.
We ve been talking with my SO for a while where the red line would be. It ll be the driving for us. Dont wanna live in Brampton? Fine move out to the country. Small town Manitoba or something... Without a pick up truck in the winter? Forget about it! Take mobility away and you are done. So I hope you got a red line too buddy.

Also first government in Canadian history to make look all those "authoritarian regimes" really good. Cant provide affordable housing, cheap transportation or proper health care. Wont be thinking about "freedom of speech" when you are sleeping in a tent in -20 Celsius and eating dog food out of a can.
Well. If Canada didn't lift the COVID mandates. I would've been typing this near a hotel in Puerto Vallarta. These mandates really disturbed me and I don't ever want to go through something like that again. I might be in Puerto Vallarta in a few months again. Who knows. Alberta is the best province in Canada and even then it's getting fucked up here.

Apparently there's more talk about Universal Basic Income. While I personally could really use it right now I don't think I want it to be a thing.

If they would at bare minimum not deduct income from your support until a cap is met that would incentivize people to work, but the current system actively discourages trying to get odd jobs or whatever because until you exceed the support payments you're working for free.

My fantasy is to flee to some rural part of a mostly-conservative (in culture and not only in politics) of a mostly-white state, like Montana or Wyoming. There I'd just live a private life, mostly pretending the world beyond doesn't exist.

Sadly I'm trapped in this dystopian nightmare of a country, in one of the worst parts of it, too. Our only hope is that attitudes shift so far and so fast that mass deportations and anti-globalism become the dominant ideology in the annals of power. Attitudes are shifting pretty fast, but I don’t think they'll shift far enough.

If money wasn't an obstacle where would you honestly go?
A variety of different places, so long as the money can get me past border controls and I can "lose" all identification as a Canadian. My fingerprints aren't on file so I'd be fine with being undeportable John Smith unless some miraculous upheaval of consciousness occurs. After which I will be rushing home to join the fight.

Ontario LTB is its own thread. Lots of landlords are reasonable and honest dealers and they will take the shaft, deep and hard. But this is an extreme money making business and how the rentier capitalists of Ontario permanently avoid working or is their retirement hobby. Or both. Have to accept that your "investment" is not going to be a trouble-free windfall at someone else's expense every single time or you have no business being a landlord anywhere. Alternatively tenants of all range have never been able to get proper LTB representation because the specialized legal class there will be blackballed by the landlords if they so much as touch a single tenant case. Only reason tenants seem to be getting W's there more than usual is because the 3rd world landlord abuses and criminality is so open and flagrant now it is utterly indefensible. So they turn to creating these slums enstead.

The Pajeet slumlords also take cash and dodge most income tax. It's always end units too like the one from the Carbon Monoxide story. New construction townhmes Pajeet and Chingchong investors always get the end units first since they buy 5-10 houses at a time from a builder. Always get the penthouses and prime spots in new condo construction outside of Toronto too. What do their 3rd world floor shitting tenants do? Drive out the neighbors. Goes on the market, landlord buys that one. Imagine the noise and the stench during showings. Landlord gets 2 in a row just like the story. See it everywhere. GTA townhouses were at 1 million on average requiring a $250,00 down payment. To live beside sewer people who will literally kill you with carbon monoxide and then say it's you and your country's fault.

People bitch about the tenants not paying but no one bitched about the landlords that didn't have to pay their mortgages for 12 months or longer during the pandemic and then house prices doubling. They should have lost every penny on those "investments" and get returned to the market in a wave foreclosure. In fact this is the origin of the "supply problem" since any completely broke unemployed retard could hold on to any property during the pandemic. And then of course these speculators and hoarders later tapped their new equity to hoard more homes in more remote areas or out of province (especially Martimes/Alberta). And the toxic immigrant/boomer shitball continutes to expand outwards like a giant shit bomb. Government intervention and socialism for the boomer and immigrant class land hoarders. "Fuck you, go borrow 1.5 million dollars at 8% interest to buy a pressed particle board shitbox" for anyone else not born in time. Canada is a "compassionate, civilzied and well meaning place". No foul language or racial and age related epithets or you will be deemed impolite!

KW was a relatively chill place, not really racist, people tolerated other cultures, etc. This was when migration was relatively lower and controlled.
I got on a packed city bus at University & King, out front of UW, in about '07-'08. I was the only White person on the bus, at least the only one that I could see. It was like a sardine can, so maybe there was another lone White hidden behind a sea of Asians. I took a picture to send to my friends back home because I knew they would've had a hard time picturing it in their minds eye. To be fair, back then, it was mostly Chinese students, who aren't likely to be strong or brave enough to tangle with your average Canadian girl.

Hilariously, from the same year, here is an obvious non-candid photo (tagged "WU Photospheres"). I assume it was created by student services or something for PR. Note the demographics.

I can confirm. Edmonton is a lost cause and Calgary is getting there because city council is full of tax-and-spend leftists. Even my old hometown of Lethbridge has earned the inglorious moniker of "Methbridge" because of the drug addicts. Something that has been mentioned in this tread is that crime in smaller cities like Prince Albert in Saskatchewan and Thompson in Manitoba is much higher than the major urban centers. Lethbridge is in the "top" 15 in the crime severity index, topped only Wetaksiwin.

Yeah I can remember when people were panicking about the Chinese in Waterwoo.

Honestly- better international students than the Indians. Maybe its because it took some time to get used to them, but after about a decade of having them around they just became an accepted part of the city.

The plus side was that you tended to have a lot of Koreans with Korean food, some Japanese, and while Chinese culture is different from Western culture, they at least have discipline (largely) and don't necessarily rock the boat too much. There were scandals with Chinese students cheating back then too, and I can recall the biggest problem was rich Chinese buying up real estate and inflating the prices in the city.

At the very least, the economy more or less functioned the same, most of these Chinese fucked off after getting their degree, and jobs wern't really being taken by them, rent was still affordable, etc.

I think if you look at the demographics now, 30,000 Indian students at Conestoga's Kitchener campus alone (out of a population of 240,000) is absurd. The next highest college was 11,000 Indian students?

Even that comparison is a bit misleading though, because 11,000 is a lot and other campuses, cities, etc are complaining about the sheer amount of Indian students because they by far outnumber any other demographic. But 30,000 is even more clown tier level. In Sudbury, they have less than 10,000 and have problems with housing, students living in tents, etc. KW has three times that amount.

This is off memory, but from what I can recall, international student levels at Western capped at maybe the mid 3,000s in the mid 2010s? Thats for all international students, not just Indians. Where we're at now is just laughable.

Why I say that KW wasn't really a racist place and was pretty chill is that, even with the waterwoo jokes, etc- it was just like, whatever, no hate crimes, no crimes from horny indians. It was the kind of "yeah my uncle and I notice this, but things arent that much of a bother so whatever". The atmosphere just seems infinitely more anti-coolie currently, for justifiable reasons

The Natives commit crime on an industrial scale. Especially out west. The RCMP avoid dealing with it, because they don't want to battle the entire res to deal with a stolen car, and the res rats can just scream racism everytime someone holds them to account.

It's insane to think even in more rural areas of Canada, it's depressing as fuck. My father has actually been to Thompson in Manitoba during the 1990s and even he told me back then it was a shithole. As for Red Deer, I've seen these drug addicts before and people who end up in the ER are advised to stay in there due to how dangerous the streets are in Red Deer. It's up there with Lethbridge as a city with massive drug problems.

And people wonder why Prince Albert and Thompson top in Crime Index in Canada. They're possibly even bigger drug addicts than the Mexican Cartel.

It's a regular sight in Ottawa, Halifax and other urban centers throughout Canada to see a lot of them strung out in drugs and booze, behaving like savages or zombies on broad daylight, and it's been going on for a very very long time.

I still recall a brief tale from a friend, who was at a supermarket and suddenly accosted by one of the redskins, and she asking for handouts. The person in question had a huge scar gash on both sides of her mouth (Joker-esque, if you will). Her skin seemed to be severely wrinkled despite not being that old of a person otherwise, he wasn't sure if it was bad genetics or long term drug use or both.

It's just all around amazing that Canada even has the gall to claim to be a "first world" country and continue to condescendingly talk down the rest of the globe over human rights, meanwhile it has zero interest in caring for it's own citizens. This also holds true with the other Anglophone countries. No wonder why they are all constantly lashing out on the world scene like divorced wives, especially these past two years.

I got no financial advise to give. I cannot really recommend to leave the country either. There are different solutions for different circumstances. But, just a perspective. From the point of view of a family dad who is managing the family finances. If you want to improve your life here in Canada in 2023 you would have to borrow money. Student loans to go to school. A car loan if you wanna get around. A basic trim line Honda Civic is now 30 grand. Mortgage to buy a house, etc etc. You are gonna be in debt anyway. Might as well borrow some money or max out your credit card for a plane ticket and a hotel room for a month or two in some other country.
Mass immigration means at some point you are a stranger among strangers. And an immigrant to your own country. If you dont understand the language spoken around you, you might as well move abroad.

One problem with voting in socialism is you'll have to shoot your way out of it.
I think we are way past voting our way out of this. No political solution this time. Left or right. And violence? REAL VIOLENCE. No chance. Whats the biggest army in the world? The Chinese army with 2 mln soldiers? No, its the American gunowners. Registered, over 6 mlns. And what did they do on January the 6th? Nothing, just a boomer snoozefest... porn and soy is a helluva a drug.

They have this tone that they use, the men and the women each have their own version of it. That pisses me off. The whiny "Hey, can you help me?" as you walk through a store, or down the street. Followed by the "Fuck you! Faggot!" when you ignore them, or tell them no. Or like in one special occasion, I got an empty bottle of mouthwash thrown at me. Way to defeat stereotypes.
