Civil War - Hollywood's fantasy about the fight against doland drumph?

Well, takes one to know about being a failure and knowing basic things outside of Yankee land.

Europe is a continent, not just a political entity you cretin. Furthermore the UK might have "left" the EU officially but Number 10 and Parliament NEVER made it a secret they did not want to do that, spent years stalling and sabotaging the efforts to leave, and even now they refuse to actually act independent and keep referring to Brussels and playing by EU rules.

It will be two hours deep-throating journalists as the "real unbiased heroes", despite that historically journos incessantly lied and fabricated shit to appeal to their collegues, with the most famous example being the infamous Vietnam photo:
Ah, so its basically like that movie about the Georgia.

Deus Ex always relevant.
And is still a way better movie than this upcoming slop. What the hell happen to you, Alex Garland?

EDIT: I thought you were talking about Ex Machima, but you were talking about the Deus Ex game. Whoops

They already made this movie a few years ago with Bautista and that weird girl from Pitch Perfect. Texas (100% white and racist) invades the North, and the federal government is actually on the run for most of the movie like a bunch of hillbillies are a serious threat. It's hilarious that lefties really believe this stuff can happen.

There was another similar movie that came out a couple years back, The Hunt, and it was still better, and this shit was written by, of all people, Damon Lindelof, a shitty movie and TV writer. Process that for a moment.

I wonder if this or Magical Negros is going to bomb more or both equally.
I imagine magical negroes is going to bomb harder, since at least this movie will trick normies into seeing it since they'll think it's just a regular action/war movie or whatever. No one is going to see the magical negroes except for a blacks and people who want to clown on the movie.

Least they were smart enough to keep out talks about "muh democracy" from the trailer, but you can feel it that they clearly want to mention the threat to democracy.

It looks so sterile. Getting real tired of these American Civil War 2.0 dystopias, they never bring up the classism and shit pitting neighbor against neighbor.

Story of the movie is gonna be that california and texas have been spicced hard and whatever the equivalent of donald trump is in this movie (hobart grump) is going to say we are whites grrrr and demand despiccing, but california and texas are SANCTUARIES and believe that NO HUMAN IS ILLEGAL so they will be “the resistance” and we’re gonna follow a group of hero journalists on the run from DC who will expose that hobart grump is actually a russian agent or something.

It's sad that this was written by the guy who wrote and directed Dredd and Ex Machima, and fast-forward to now and his political sperging is going to be his "magnum opus."

Garland was always a hack, you can see it leak through even in 28 days later. The soldiers turn into child rapists after 28 days of no sex. If you need villains in the movie you can come up with literally any other excuse but it just boils down to “men be rapin’”.

I havent seen the new dredd but always wanted to, but now that you say its a garland movie im less interested.

Ex machina is esentially a girl boss movie as well - since then hes only made objectively trash films, like annihilation and MEN, what is interesting is that he seems to have evolved from “poor womxyn” to just general political hackery.

Dredd is really good. It's one of those movies where a shitty filmmaker can make something good when it wants to. That said, I couldn't stand Annihilation and Overlord was boring, and it's Alex Garland is a hack.

Yeah I have sperged bout this before at great length, but 28 days later for all I love its visuals/sound design/music/general concept has some of the most hilariously shit worldbuilding and storywriting of any zombie movie outside of the resident evil movies.

The zombies starve/thirst to death within a few days or weeks, refuse to go out in daylight even when someone is literally screaming for attention outside, can be killed as easily as any human, and will just lurk around wherever they got infected unless they see or hear someone in their immediate area, and yet somehow manage to spread all over the country across hundreds of miles of rural countryside between cities and towns with zero explanation and effortlessly curbstomp any and all military opposition or evacuation attempts aside from less than 12 soldiers holed up in a mansion who seem to have no problems whatsoever aside from lack of coom facilities

Also character writing in general is shoddy at best given how the black chick goes from near sociopathic survivor to sobbing and terrified woman in need of rescue by an emaciated irishman less than 48 hours after meeting him and what you already mentioned about the soldiers.

Again, I absolutely fucking love just about everything in the movie aside from the script and specific plot details which seriously let it down, and this seems to have been down largely if not entirely to Garland.

I’m with @TVB Dredd is actually fantastic, which is crazy because Annihilation, Overlord and Ex Machina were fucking dogshit.
That's exactly what I said here. It's like with Dredd, he knew a lot about the Judge Dredd character by actually reading the comics and not having to look up a fucking Wikipedia article to get knowledge, so I'll give him that. Sadly, I cannot say the same with Garland's other movies.

tl;dr: The man being executed is a soldier who wiped out an entire village (women and children included) and the changed to civilian gear to evade judgment. The journo knew the truth yet never confessed to it despite getting award for it and ruining the life of the guy doing the world a service and executing the criminal.
Wow. I can’t believe you got it almost completely wrong.

The journalist who took the photo defended the Southern Vietnamese commander for years. The guy getting shot was a guy who’d repeatedly murdered the families of South Vietnamese officers and then got sprung from prisons when the South Vietnamese tried to hold a trial.
When the guy moved to the US and Eric Adams, the photographer, defended him and added context that the shooter just saw a wife and family get slaughtered.

The Wikipedia article omits a lot of detail. Adam’s literally defended the shooter before the Senate.
