hey i have question: Was it Roosterteeth that got the contract to do the Transformer Nerflix animated movies? and didnt that get torpedoed because one of the guys got catfished into cross dressing and putting large things up his butt?
It was only meant to be three movies, but honestly it wouldn't shock me to know that Hasbro left it at that and refused to give them anymore work.

If we're being really honest here, it wasn't "wokeness" or LGBTQ stuff that was the bellwether for the end of RT, it was Gen:Lock. It was a total failure on catastrophic levels, from siphoning talent and money that should've gone to improving RWBY (lol), to behind the scenes production drama, to them totally beefing Season 2 to a point where even those who enjoyed Season 1 absolutely loathed it. RT never fully recovered from Gen:Lock's failure and not even daddy Warner Bros (who's bleeding money as it is) could save them.
Nah, gen lock wasn't the start or cause of anything. It was just another mismanaged dumpster fire. The death of shit was when RWBY started raking in cash, Monty Oum died, and the production of it was continued by dumbass fans and not professional animators.

The show looks like shit, and has gotten worse over time(SFM can look significantly better).
The animators cry about not being paid for months at a time, but are too stupid to go to the texas labor board or whatever with proof to resolve it.
The animators cry about crunch and working 16 hour days... sure as shit doesn't look like they were putting 16 hour days into anything.
They fostered a culture of cancelling anyone they don't like, including people who were in charge. With no one left in charge, things became a shit show.
They fostered a fanbase of morons who ship characters, threaten voice actors at their conventions, etc.

Gen lock happened long after all that bullshit was well under way. And that's not including RvB going to total shit costing them fans, spending absurd amounts of money on shows(including genlock) with nothing to show for it, and being more worried about making sure their public image isn't tarnished by someone liking something on twitter while never properly growing as a company and building an HR department leaving grown ass men still calling eachother faggots at work and their practically volunteer workforce/fanbase not being sure what to do about it because they're just happy to be there even though it ruined the image of their senpais.

The supposed costs to make a "season" of RWBY were mentioned a couple of pages back. Knowing that it could have been professionally done, and even be high budget for an anime while still only being a fraction of the cost because no one ever properly managed the workflow at RT is just the icing on the cake.

I'd be willing to bet there was a significant span of time where retards at RT were creaming themselves for being able to take turns on using what would eventually be the outdated as fuck workstation Monty used, or just having enshrined the shit in the office if it wasn't in the possession of his family at home, and putting more effort into being concerned about that than getting their damned work done. Just look back over the years, Oum died in 2015. 5, 7, 8 years later you've still got people at that damn company tearing up about him as if he just died last month.

Don't forget, Monty Oum used Poser -fucking POSER- for all the RWBY animation during his time and it wasn't until after he died that RT made the switch to programs more suited for CG animation... and yet it still looked like shit.

Ironically, it was professionally done in the form of a 2D Anime by an actual anime studio (Studio SHAFT)... as a spin off.

It needs to be scrapped at this point. Even switching to openmoonshot (which DreamWorks Animation currently uses) wouldn't help them now.

The spinoff makes the original series look like fanfiction.

Oh I know, and it looks far better than anything RT has ever shat out. It also should have been a sign to everyone, including the damn fans that they'd be better off just letting an anime studio re-do the entire fucking series from scratch. But... the shippers would likely throw tantrums because head nods or whatever nonsense they use to determine which characters fuck in their imagination to issue death threats over, would likely change as the anime studio could actually make the characters visually emote for once.

I don't know anything about of animation and what's good or bad, but Monty always struck me as an autist stuck in his ways. I remember on the podcast some people talking about his workflow and how strange it was and how he was always in the office.

It struck me as someone stuck in a very inefficient workflow and unwilling to try something new. Maybe it was good in 2004 or whatever when he made haloid lol.

Monty to me is a rather good example of what the anime industry is like: constant work for little pay and much adoration, as long as it’s good. I like to think of he didn’t die to a cat he’d still be working the same pace, even if it was killing him in his 40s.

That or he would kicked out of RT for being in the way of their only cash cow.

"All Good No Worries Update Dec. 2023

Hello, Goodies!

With our recent update about "Always Open" going on hiatus, we know that brings up a lot of questions regarding All Good No Worries as a brand, and our other current show, "Please Be Nice To Me."

At this time, we are unsure of what the future holds for AGNW - we at Rooster Teeth are always adapting to the ever-changing environment of content creation and the state of the industry, and are working to grow as much as we can in hopes of continuing to get to do what we do. Unfortunately, we're not in a position where we have the resources to continue our content for the channel, and are going to be focusing our efforts on our other existing projects starting in 2024.

However, we hope to maintain and foster this wonderful community we've built together by keeping our presence on social media. We want to continue to be a safe, positive space on the internet where you can find content that resonates with you.

We are incredibly grateful for you believing in us and enjoying what we've made over the past year. If you'd like to continue to support us, you can find our other work on RoosterTeeth.com. If you want to be extra wonderful, signing up for a FIRST membership directly supports us by increasing our resources and our ability to create content in general.

We appreciate you all, and thank you for being here with us! We had a blast."

Andy btfo'ing barb by calling it the 'finger me podcast' will always be peak comedy. He was totally right to say it as well. It was always masqueraded as some relationship/advice podcast but was largely about sex and fetishes under that thin veneer. Was 'All Good No Worries' the exact same way or did they actually change it up?

Oh and just because I haven't done it in a while, I would like to point and laugh at the rate Meg is gaining weight.

Maybe if you look at her from the front, and if she has her arms raised, and if she sucks it in, and if they touch her up in post...
I mean she used to be half of what she is now. When you sell your body as a product, I don't know why you'd let yourself go so early.

Nobody panic, everyone at Roosterteeth is perfectly fine. The company is doing great, they definitely don't have a corporate overlord staring down at them with disgust as he axes the expenses and searches for something profitable.

They are sizing the fuck down. They must be some dire straits if they’re just killing project after project.

You know it’s pretty sad when you remember Lindsey is losing weight while Meg has to tuck it in.
Edit, because I forgot I was following Barbara.

I think I understand why Rooster Teeth still exists; taxes. RT is a total loss of a purchase and I can't help but feel it'll be a means to some tax benefit or write off that I don't understand or know about. I'm pretty certain that businesses do pay quarterly and there could be a benefit or tax relief with a sinking asset.

No...not at all. Warner is bleeding money and needs to axe everything losing money yesterday (which is almost everything) and, as I have said at least a dozen times at this point, the only reason RT has lasted as long as they have is because they are such a small piece of that pie that it has taken quite a lot of cutting to get down to them.

I get that a lot of people in this thread really can't comprehend how small RT is in the failing WB empire, but they are like a percentage of a percentage of all of WB's assets.

But as we have seen with all the recent project cancellations, layoffs and begging that the time is quickly approaching to cut the head off the rooster.

Barb made a post

Posted this in Always Open thread, but posting in here as well due to its relevance:

Lot of speculation in here. Let me just be straight with y’all- I didn’t want to continue making the show. As a creator, my passions change, and I felt like I hit a wall with making the show. Maybe I will want to bring it back someday, maybe I won’t. But I have found the greatest joy working on Tales from the Stinky Dragon and want to work on that and similar projects. It’s revitalized my love for performing and creating, and getting to do that with the Stinky Dragon crew has been the most fun Ive ever had at RT. Always Open was a show I did by myself, no official cohost or other cast to help with creative. It could be tough doing that after a while. Then, when you add the factor of us wanting to be more purposeful with the resources we have, it made the decision more clear to me. This year, we are really trying to focus in more on what we love making the most, and what is showing positive growth and potential. We tried something new with AGNW but sadly we don’t have the luxury to experiment as much as we once did.

We never like saying “I just don’t want to make this anymore” because we know there are those who love the show, and don’t want to diminish that. But that was why we said it was our decision- my decision, to be frank. If your creative energy is 100 points and you’re working on 5 project, each project could get 20 points of your energy (or maybe one gets 70, one gets 5, etc). So it’s tough when you want to give something 100 and you mentally can’t.

I am extremely grateful for those who loved the show and supported our work and the AGNW channel. But with my feelings on Always Open, and Funhaus focusing on their channel and shows, it was hard to justify us trying to maintain it at this time.

Seems like a bit of cope that no one gives a shit about her and what she thinks now that the purse strings have tightened into a noose
