Upthread, someone said these fools were somewhere near Nederland,CO . Looking up the weather, temperatures are already down to 16F in downtown Nederland. Temperatures in the nearby mountains are likely to be colder yet. Coupled with the wind, it's gonna feel like sub-zero temps. Every winter, vagrants die of exposure in temps like that.

One way they could drastically improve their odds of survival would be to get down off the mountain, and drive into town. It's Christmas Eve. There's likely a church or other charity willing to take them in for the night, no judgement, no questions asked. Failing that, there's a chance that cops would be willing to look the other way if they were to set up camp somewhere in town where they have better chances of staying warm.

Even if the truck doesn't make it all the way into town, the closer they are to town, the better their odds of being encountered by highway patrol or someone else who can call a tow truck.

But, that would require them to swallow their pride.

Also, if that 20 year old kid is not LARPing the seizures for pity points, he needs to get his ass to a hospital. Seizures are no joke. If the winter temps don't kill him, the seizures probably will.
