It was driving me insane trying to figure out that weird fucking feeling I got watching Clint talk so openly, and at times negatively, with Cobes right next to him.

Then it hit me — he uses him like a fucking prop.

Probably has for years.

Cobes gives him excuse to talk about himself, the trials about raising the tard’, and tries reasoning how this all fucking fell apart.
There was a wierd feeling, like even he knew that Josh needed to be explained in a good, sympathetic light to garner pitty, but the funny thing is that even then it felt like Clint for most of the interview whenever Cobes talks can be desperately summed up by this as he was doing nothing but sabotaging his father's efforts:

I used to be in the "Well what's Clint supposed to do?" camp. But now after the interview "Anything but what he's doing right now." comes to mind. He goes and does this shitty terrible interview that will only lead to more trolling of his supposedly beloved son? He lets his retarded son take a whole fucking jug of his pruno to the Christmas party and then gets mad at him for drinking it? Josh offers a backhanded apology after his outburst and does nothing to change his behavior and Clint immediately is "let bygones be bygones".

I've done a 180 from Clint is a hapless parent with few options to Clint is a bumbling enabler with just as much of an ego problem as his unfortunate spawn.

Eh, the clinterview has changed my mind on a few things. Like Cobes complete self-sabotaging behavior of opportunities throwing themselves in his face. I do think in light of this that Clint does (or at least did) want to be a part of his life and take him places. It's always seemed like Clint doesn't invite him to shit but the bare minimum thanksgiving and christmas but he confirmed he almost bought tickets on several occasions to see Big Ben. If Cobes wasn't such a goddamn alcoholic retarded degenerate who can't even handle a simple family dinner he could be living that lavish Clint life. He WANTS to rot away in a musty apartment.

So when do you guys think Puff will emerge from hibernation?
Just as soon as Cobra builds his clock tower dream house with cis sis of age non-related alive goth girlfriend. Once he rings hells bells Iron Man, Pufferth Well first feel and then here. He will then burrow his way and dig a big mote around the castle and come and sit at Cobes right side forever. Heheyessss. Get blocked trole.

If Puff emerges from hibernation on February 2nd and sees his shadow, he’ll crash back into slumber and it’ll be a long Wyoming winter. If he emerges and runs back to Josh initiating a long awaited teary eyed reunion, spring is here doot and it’s time to party like a goth rock star.

Ah yes, Groundbog Day.
Him going sicko and disappointing his family has made him hate himself.
A lot of Cobes' behavior is due to deep self loathing, this ain't a new dynamic. To indulge in completely unqualified psychoanalysis for a moment: Behind Cobes' surface-level embrace of self lies the exact opposite, a deep rejection of his true self and consequent situation. He has not had, and perhaps never will, the realization that he needs to like and embrace his actual true self as it really exists, including it's flaws and limitations. Instead he imagines himself as some idealized archetype, tries to embrace that false proxy as his true self, and when he inevitably fails in practice to live up to that idealized figure, inflicts further mental anguish and deepens the self loathing.

The problem is Clint is faced with a dilemma. Josh has got ODD or PDA, or some fucking mental block that means he won't behave normally. He's also an adult, so Clint can't force him to do anything - so he can either try and force Josh to change and probably end up destroying their relationship or he can choose to try and tiptoe around Josh to be in his life. While it's a dilemma, if you love your child unconditionally only the latter choice really makes sense.

Even this Christmas freakout demonstrates their issue here: even trying to make sure he doesn't end up steaming drunk at Christmas led to him having a tantrum.

Clint must have to be careful what he says to or in earshot of Cobes, in the interview his words weren't just designed for the audience, but also at Josh so he doesn't upset the boglim. I suspect his actual views on a few of the topics covered are a lot different when he's talking and Josh isn't there to throw a wobbler - for instance, does he really think Josh should be streaming online, given that brings in 90% of his problems?

The TL;DR is how can you parent an adult with some sort of mental disorder that causes them to behave like Josh? You can't, not effectively anyway.

I'm so sick of fucking Redditors and YouTubers trying to make Josh the Next Chris—Chan. Rate me MATI, but Jesus these people act as if Cobes rapes Elderly dementia ridden women, or sends his dick to minors and rapping about racing.

These people act like the worst trolls from Christory. They're all on some Blue Spike/Janke shit.

I just listened to the clinterview and it's basically an hour of him talking about how much of a difficult little shit cobes is. It's masked with love and understanding but the whole thing is rife with put downs. The one redeeming remark made? Animals like him. And the way cobes sits there the whole time with his arms crossed like a defiant toddler is pretty telling. After the interview I see cobes as more retarded than I ever really thought he was. He is legitimately severely mentally retarded and not just some goofy aspie making yt videos. Guess I'm late.

It's also extremely bizarre all the finger pointing towards the trolls about cobes drinking. Clint has done nothing but reinforce the idea that the trolls are why cobes is drinking himself to death and it further removes responsibility from cobes for what he's doing to his body and his relationships. Clint has to intercept duster but its the trolls fault that cobes would huff the shit if it made it to him. Cobes drinks a whole bottle of JD but "wouldn't you if you had to deal with what he deals with?" Ridiculous all around.

I'm in two minds on whether Clint actually believes this - he clearly has to walk on eggshells around Josh, if he goes off script he could ruin that interview with Josh flipping out.

I do agree that it made Josh look more disabled than ever, I feel for Clint can't be easy having Josh be your son and refusing even tiny requests to improve his own fucking life.

Did any reliable testimony emerge regarding Cobra offering boglim booze to underage family members? Or was that, once again, imbeciles dragging any limp rumor they find on Reddit into the thread?
It's probably bullshit because its reddit and they showed no proof of anything and said conflicting statements from what we know about Clint.

I'm guessing what happened is Cobes brought his wine to show off to the family and accidentally offered a drink to someone who wasn't quite 21 yet. Cobes, being a regard, a recluse, and probably drunk, I could see genuinely not knowing someone's exact age. Of course Redditards have to spin it like he's trying to liquor up his 8yo niece.

What evidence did you find that indicated he attempted to share with the underage? Please reply with a link to it here, I am only able to find an obvious fabrication from a now deleted reddit account. I may be searching in the wrong places.

You don’t. It’s too late for that, that ship has sailed. As a consequence of that, you can’t manage harm to himself in any meaningful way either so there’s no real point in trying to do anything for him too. The best any parent could do in this situation is handle what they can control and that’s minimizing harm to others and yourself. It’s important to take care of yourself and your other family members, it’s actually negligent to include Cobra at this point because he not only ruins everything but he’s been physically violent and aggressive with his family before. He had to put in jail for it. Especially when he’s drinking he will violently lash out at the drop of a hat and he’s done it for years and years, he’s only keeping it off camera mostly so we know nothings changed.

If Clint was any kind of father, he’d recognize that maintaining this relationship is not worth anything and it’s damaging to everyone around him. It’s potentially dangerous for a house filled with young women. Josh is destroying his own life and he wants to drag everyone around him down with him and he’s welcome to do that but not at the expense of everyone else’s happiness. Sacrifice is hard but necessary, this whole “You’re doing the best you can every day little buddy I’m proud of you” experiment has failed.

I don’t agree that anyone should hate him as he’s a cow and our only response should be to laugh but it’s not like that anger is completely unjustified his behaviour has been off the walls for years. He talked about jacking off on retarded girls, he lost a relationship for saying “I bet you’d like it if I raped you” to his girlfriend and he did for a good while send his penis to any girl on Facebook that talked to him immediately. He was very proud of his penis he would regularly flash it around and i’ve been told he still does in discord he just starts jacking it in group calls, just straight up unannounced jack sessions watching group call pornos and showing people his bare butthole.

There’s a lot of abnormal stuff going on with him I kinda get while people think he’s vile little shit but I think most of us here just think he’s hilarious. Who tf flashes their starfish on discord? What a wild little man.

Yea this is another prime example of Clint being delusional. Addicts don't "need a reason" to drink or do drugs, they do it because they're addicts (the cause is probably more genetic than anything else, plus in Cobra's case having low cognitive function, but I repeat myself). Excusing the behavior and allowing it to continue will only lead to more destruction and the addict ultimately dying and/or irreversibly fucking up their life that much sooner. As bad as Cobra's situation is it could still be salvaged if he could one, stop being a retard, and two, stop drinking, but unfortunately neither of those things are going to happen.

Sacrifice is hard but necessary, this whole “You’re doing the best you can every day little buddy I’m proud of you” experiment has failed.

It failed the second Cobra took "you're a legal adult now" to mean "I now have the legal right to be as big of a retard as I want to be." As soon as he said "I'm an adult now, you can't make me brush my teeth anymore," Clint should have known he fucked up. But to be fair at that point it may have been too late anyways with the papers already being signed and such.

This thread has gone from he’s becoming an alcoholic, he now is an alcoholic, look how fucking delusional he is, to now basically theorising how we reached the end game — and how long till the lolz end permanently.

Cobes is only in his early 30s, so even as a highly self destructive addict, he could still easily live another decade or two. Longer if at any point anything happens that somehow forces him to stop drinking. I think the most likely scenario for the lolz ending will be when Josh loses Internet access for some reason or another, maybe Clint will give up on him and he'll be homeless, maybe he'll do something that actually gets him some jail time, who knows. It is possible that he might drink himself into a stupor and choke on his own vomit offstream as well.

But I think the most likely scenario for the foreseeable future is that Clint will keep providing for him enough to stay in his current "independent" state and we'll just keep getting more of the same. Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing I guess is a matter of perspective.
