A lot of the human designs weve seen in HB episodes (including human disguises) were actually pretty neat, so one has to wonder why she keeps shoving this furry shit in everything she does. Probably just degeneracy.
Also for most of the demons their outfits suck ass, I feel like she's actually pretty bad at designing clothes that don't look goofy as hell. Octavia is supposed to be a teenager, but the outfit looks more like a 7 year old trying to cosplay as a teenager. No teen would wear a bright pink shirt with yellow cartoon stars unless they were making an attempt at decora kei. She's supposed to be like 18 or something at this point???

She has a nice eye-catching artstyle, but outside of a few characters her character design is actually pretty ass, especially for anything that isn't meant to be for kids and/or funny. Its like expecting grown adults to genuinely be upset about twilight sparkle crying over some friendship drama, ma'am its a flat colour purple horse with a star on her ass d6vux4e-4847528d-34ef-4a66-934c-7f0baf14f86a.png

I kinda respected her for making her main character an unattractive bald weirdo that looks like an ant and dresses like an edgy 11 year old with silly big ol boots, silly accessories and a silly trench coat, but all that respect was immediately lost by the constant gay romance melodrama hes in thats genuinely impossible to take seriously.

Same with the recent fizzarolli drama, where it's difficult to take him seriously when hes a whiny femboy clown with a beetlejuice voice. The fact that there are people out there attracted to these characters and genuinely want to see them buttfuck scares me greatly.

Alastor is probably gonna be another case, where he's supposed to be intimidating but its ruined because he looks like this

Valentino also looks a bit goofy, but with him i can at least feel the sleasiness drip off him, like yeah i can believe this flamboyant douchebag rapes twinks or something

I think she's very good at art, concepts, and character designs, but as a writer she's clearly subpar. She's undeniably talented but she shouldn't be a showrunner.
It feels a bit more like just another case of someone getting an "in" with the media oligarchy and distorting somewhat to fit in while acting like "oh it was always like this haha toxic fans are STUPID amiriiight?" than just mere "subpar showrunner material" Something fresh and new with a strong start and presence and a shitload of potential devolving into every media "subversion" melodrama the last decade now? Ain't no way West coast megacorps don't have some creeping influence over the creator's mind when that happens. it's happened a NUMBER of times to different creative types with actually interesting shit. They get big, get in touch with some west coast corpo investors, possibly move to LA or silicon valley, instantly go back on all their shit and go ladder up mode while keeping up the skinwalker facade of "all my old fans were bad but the new ones are good and wholesome and queer supportive!" or some shit. There's no way people that act like this don't know any better and I hope every single fucking day something breaks this godforsaken cycle.

Amazon Prime Video to start showing ads next month – unless you pay more

>January 29th is the start date
>right around the time Hazbin premieres

Big thunk.
Speaking of Amazon Prime Video, I'm bummed we won't be able to see the massive drop in viewership numbers from episode to episode like what we're witnessing with Helluva. I can only imagine the viewers lost between the episode that fully embraces 'Heaven is bad and redemption is impossible!' and the next episode, it would have been a decent measurement of how many people were interested in Hazbin because of its redemption of sinners premise instead of some war with Heaven shit.

It just feels less belivable that this was the case with Vivizie because there were at least signs of her being toxic even before the Hazbin pilot released. It would be funny if Hazbin really did succumb to "Put a chick in it and make it gay and diverse", but it kinda feels like it was set to end up this way from the beginning imo.

Even if the critics/journos are indifferent towards Hazbin, I'm wondering if YTers like Saberspark or SuperEyepatchWolf will still be willing to shill it.

I suspect there will be a fair amount of 'well meaning shilling' to put it one way. Meaning people like Saber or Eyepatch will shill it mainly because "Wow look guys, this indie pilot got a proper series and put on a popular streaming platform." I'm betting when the already confirmed season two (It's already been said something needs to be a complete and total disaster to get only one season these days, especially when it comes to animation, but there's another reminder for you.) comes out, people like Saber and Eyepatch will likely be more critical now that the novelty wore off, and if more info gets public and it becomes obvious to even the casual Hazbin fan that Viv dumped the pilot VAs mainly to replace them with people from Broadway, those well meaning shills will abandon her in droves.

I'd have to disagree on her designs being that good. Sure, Stolas and Stella look great if you ignore anything about their personalities whatsoever, but frankly those two are exceptions. When you look at the actual IMPs, who were the main character before Stolas' ass and cloaca showed up, they don't really have a lot of personality with their outfits, they all have the exact same color scheme and blend together when they stand too close, sure you can try to guess their personality from their expressions on their renders, but you'd never know they were a squad of hitmen.

Blitzo looks less like a goofy, horse loving assassin who used to be a clown, and more like an 11 year old school shooter with that black duster of his and the fucking eyeballs on his gloves, why does he have those? Moxxie looks like a butler, and Millie wears the most boring clothes in the series, holy shit her design is bad, literally everything about her entire theme of southern assassin demon is done better by Striker, who's also one of the few good designs.

Moxxie actually does look like the prissy boy he is who would unironically use "oh crumbs" as an epithet.

I get what you're saying and it's definitely true in a lot of other cases, but it was pretty obvious both HH and HB were going to be heavy on gay and progressive themes from the beginning. There were enough political jokes in the HB pilot (health insurance, climate change, etc.) that you could get a good read of her politics. That's not really the issue, if you were watching it from the start you had to be willing to at least tolerate that on some level. What's turning people off is the bad writing, with each new episode of HB it becomes more and more apparent she doesn't really know what she's doing.

Shit is going to really go down when the major reviewers start to see Hazbin, guaranteeing high review scores by putting tons of gays and shit in something isn't nearly as dependable as it was a few years ago. I don't think Hazbin will get trashed by mainstream critics, but I'm expecting it gets a lot of 6 and 7 out of 10s (which is basically garbage to mediocre instead of decent or very worthwhile thanks to how fucked review scores are these days anyways).
Yeah, the days where you could write anything and include a gay relationship and people would praise it because it's better than nothing are long gone. Now if she wanted to get progressives to reflexively defend it she'd have to start trooning the characters out

Not every fucking thing has to be a politics team struggle session. There's a difference between joking about or mentioning gayshit and climate change and turning an over the top comedy into some weird shallow melodrama complete with that one "deaf kid scene" that's been showing up in nearly every corporate production lately for some reason. There's apparently a little more context leading up to the scene which makes it a bit less bad than the others like it according to people i know that've seen the full thing but it really doesn't change the fact it's one of those ""wholesome!!!!" scenes thats clearly made to get people giving it praise on twitter and reddit for a day till everyone forgets and it shows up again in another piece of media.

You remember Santa Inc.? As shit as that series was it stayed "comedy" oriented. This would be like if Santa inc suddenly had some kind of non-joking serious plotline between Santa and some random other character he fucked sometime take over the initial plot premise of "piece of shit elf wants to be santa (because white man bad)!!!"

Never kept up with HB but I did like the first few episodes, or season I guess. Shame that it sounds like she leaned way more into the gay melodrama. When it first started it simply felt like one of those "Hell has no real morals, so this little gremlin imp is getting literally assfucked by an aristocratic demon for access to a magical artifact because power is power" and now it's like an actual relationship? That's faggot shit.

Now I'm expecting HH to be absolute fucking garbage too because of it, considering Amazon picked it up they probably saw faggot/troon shit they liked.

Considering how Vivzie likes to imagine herself as edgy because she swears a lot, having this be the direction the narrative went in would have actually been edgy. Trying to explain to people a show where the protagonist's main motivation is not getting bummed would have been... interesting.

Except Vivzie is a fag hag. Even those edgy jokes dating back to the aughts (homosexuality itself being the butt of jokes, especially non-consensual homosexuality, the Barney Bunch being a good example) is too edgy for her.

Depicting gay people as unrepentant predators/rapists is too edgy for her, with the possible exception of Valentino.

Nothing is lamer than a wokist or Tumblrite attempting to be edgy. Her stuff would unironically be better if she stuck at a G rating level.

There's a reason why the label "safe edgy" became a meme.
