That seems to be what the Democratic Party is hoping for. Get rid of Trump on enough ballots and people won’t show up…ergo Biden gets handed another term. I wasn’t ever really a believer in the stolen election narrative and never looked into it, but after they would try a repeat of 1860, well it makes me wonder. And if SCOTUS backstabs Trump (they did once before), its also the confirmation that things truly are THAT dire and there is no branch of the government we can relay on not even a bit.
I don't agree with the common notion that the roman empire collapsed because of muh barbarian invasion. It's just not true. the WRE collapsed because of many issues such as the loss of tax revenue to hyper inflation, the loss of the major grain supply when the vandals took Carthage, and a badly timed rebellion. in fact, many of the so called barbarians had been living under roman rule and the roman system for decades in not hundreds of years in the case of the Gauls, and north Africans. The Catholic church stepped in to fill the void left by the late emperors.
the various post roman nations in the 6th century were essentially roman. they followed roman law, latin was the legal language, followed roman institutions, and the list goes on. every single western European nation (and the US by extension) has a lot and I mean A LOT of roman influence.
a more comparable situation would be if the Federal government disappeared tomorrow. the 50 US states would still be American culturally.
The main similarity between late Western Rome and America is the absolute disdain and incompetence of politicians at the top. If you learned about all the drama involving Honorius and Olympius that led to Rome being sacked by Alaric, you will see the various parallels to how half the world is ditching the United States diplomatically. Our leaders are burning bridges for absolutely no reason with no backup plan pissing off everyone and only damaging our country further.America isnt rome. I have a boner for rome as much as the next guy.
Of course it isn't. and anyone who makes such comparison seriously is ignoring history.America isnt rome. I have a boner for rome as much as the next guy.
It's honestly kind of fascinating. In their push to delegitimise Trump to get back to Democrat control it's like they triggered a feedback loop where they try to convince others that Trump is horrible but end up convincing themselves so they feel forced to double down, then double down again because they scared themselves more. It's a psychological manipulation experiment gone horribly horribly wrong.I don’t even like Trump, he’s a snake, but holy fuck they’re willing to burn it all down for TDS. Will non-uniparty aligned conservatives take their fedposts from online to RL, who knows. But even laying the foundation for such a possibility is evidence that they’re not fit to serve as public administrators or adjudicators of law in the United States.
How is Trump a snake, at least compared to everybody else in that game? January 6th? Yeah, that was on their accord.I don’t even like Trump, he’s a snake, but holy fuck they’re willing to burn it all down for TDS.
I bet I could watch two homos fucking in the ass and sucking each other off and it wouldn't come off as faggy as this tweet.
Nimarata is a pajeet and thus has no real grasp on anything regarding America except how to exploit it. Recall that about a decade ago she eagerly supported getting rid of the confederate flag during her tenure as governor. So somehow she had a grasp on what the civil war was about then. She just does the needful in hopes people are stupid enough to play along.View attachment 5595801
Just remember, fuckers: you voted for this.

That calendar is a great summation of conservative politics. All I know about conservative women is that in 2020, they bent the knee to bleat about how much they love Nigger Lives Matter as hard if not harder than any progressive. Sounds like a wonderful group of people that should be pandered to.tldr; conservative women are upset men like to look at pretty things, the pinup women themselves are being generic thots wanting attention even though many of them are married, and the photos just aren't that impressive. Nothing says pinup like wasted space with below a-cups and a TDS RINO holding guns. Everyone on all sides of this are fake and gay.
They can and likely will keep doing it and just keep having SCOTUS rule on it every time. Time it just well enough to where it’s a game of whack a mole. Or they could just ignore the ruling outright like with student loans. Nobody is going to enforce the ruling if it goes against the state’s intentions. They want Trump the fuck off ballots and will think of many ways to stop it. Just wait until we find out all write-ins have to be thrown out too,Gonna be fun to watch because it can no longer be punted, they have to make some kind of ruling one way or another.
When you put it that way you make a good point. He isn't really better than anyone else in the political minefield. But to me his only redeeming qualities are that he does two things really well. He is a lightning rod that people outside of D.C. and state power centers can rally around and thus begin to question why things are so fucked up, and personally, I think it's fun to watch him rage at established political animals. How is Trump a snake, at least compared to everybody else in that game?
Here's another one. Even if you think Trump was lousy on Covid, and I think he was.. Imagine Hillary with Covid as her sword and shield.Outside of those two very specific instances he's...well, there's a whole thread on him here. He isn't some savior, he's just a guy and a weird one at that who has done some weird and fucked up shit.
Rome had two falls (3 if you count 1453). The US is mirroring the first two in different ways.I don't agree with the common notion that the roman empire collapsed because of muh barbarian invasion. While all of that is valid, at this point, I want Trump to win as a monkey wrench against everything that has happened the past four years. I'm tired. I can at least laugh at Trump's gaffes and grift orbiters of their stupidity. When you put it that way you make a good point. He isn't really better than anyone else in the political minefield. I agree that the US is in a similar situation to the Roman republic, in broad strokes.Rome had two falls (3 if you count 1453). The US is mirroring the first two in different ways.
The Roman Republic fell in the last century BC when their democratic elected system fell apart due to power hunger, corruption, and infighting. They were killing politicians in the street, strongman would take over between periods of increasingly pointless elections and drum up lists of enemies to kill or exile. When Augustus came in as the final strongman everyone was falling over themselves to hand him power to stop the bleeding. While this isn't a 1:1 parallel to now, if you want to see what could happen and how people felt about it when a democracy falls before your eyes, read up on the end of the Republic.
The 2nd fall was the fall of the Western Empire in the 5th century due to incompetent leaders and mass hostile migrations poorly integrating into the nation. This is also happening.
The fucked up shit is, the Romans never had to deal with this at the same time...

Oh, I agree. I'm talking less about the Romanized Goth leaders you mention (and you can add your namesake's father to that list) as much the overall waves of migrations for the previous century, the areas of Hispania and Gaul that integrated so poorly they had separate laws for Romans and Germans, etc.A great book on the post roman dark ages is "The Inheritance of Rome" by chris wickham. it covers the years 400-1000
There have always been ethic neighborhoods where minorities speak the language of the "home country" germans, italians, the fucking creole etc.I see parallels now with Hispanics and Somalis moving in en masse and forming their own neighborhoods, not assimilating, not becoming citizens, and us bending over backwards to accommodate non-English speakers. It could be argued it took longer for Latin to bastardize due to the lack of mass media. Modern culture could cause English to fade out in our lifetimes, especially since it's rayciss.
