Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

  • 🔧 At about Midnight EST I am going to completely fuck up the site trying to fix something.
From what I heard it seems like people don't realize that Japan isn't a Ghibli film (excluding Princess Mononoke) and that it was a massive shithole up to very late later in history. It was basically endless clan wars, social hierarchy with no class mobility, nobility that will absolutely fuck you up for a perceived insults and getting fucked over by the weather. Excluding diseases, Europe was (and let's face it, still is) a superior place to live in.
I blame a combination of the familiarity of contempt coupled with a healthy dose of historical demoralization by commies. There is this deeply ingrained idea in people's heads that Europe somehow was always this ignorant backwater with no culture and wat not that only got to where they are today by stealing everyone else's shit.

Of course not true. If Europe truly was an ignorant backwater it would not have been able to steamroll everyone else and then build an Imperial architecture that lasted for centuries. Also culturally, during the time period of Blue Eue Samurai, you had the likes of Shakespear, Johanne Pachabel and other luminaries of the early englightenemt, while Rennaisance greats like Michaelangelo were already a century in the grave.

i'm not sure what you expected from Netflix
like, it is exactly what i thought it would be the moment i read the title

Shigurui in a nutshell. A good watch and a good read. Anime/Manga though
I can relate to at least Yakuza Kenzan & Ishin about how Japan worked in the 1500's/1800's respectively. Vidya though.

I'm gonna be honest, I think Craig might have the slightest edge over KND if only because it doesn't overuse voice actors like Dee Bradley Baker and Tom Kenny for several roles. A lot of episodes of KND are hard to watch for me because of constant shrill screaming, and those two have the worst fucking voices for screaming, especially bad once you recognize them. Not even exclusive to them, Tara Strong and Grey Delisle both have yell heavy roles. The show is also full of gross out gags and really really fucking weird episodes. Like the one where they eat pink eye crust. And the duck one where Tommy's naked for like the entire episode.

I think KND is better for excitable viewers, while Craig is more mellow viewing. All down to preference of course. I still maintain KND has much better and more creative art direction, a really really detailed and fun to engage with world. And the Toilenator. Who could forget the Toilenator?
As sleep pink muslim queen said, a lot of we mexas are crazy for KND for the dub, no exxageration, it´s like the ghost stories dub but, with mexican pop culture, all included, with references to our actual boomer president and songs that your drunk uncle and dad where listening, it was crazy, I guess that´s not gonna happen again...
Even less with animators like that whore of "Oye Primos" trying to force her Californian, Chicano, SJW freak culture to all of us...

Oh right, Miguel y Güero.
Mexican dub of KND is kino as fuck.

shifting from more "actual kids playing make belief" into the plotlines being legitimately an ongoing conflict that spans the entire globe.
Not just the globe but the kids even goes to space. Remember the Star Trek/Wars parody episodes? I even recall there was a space prison used as a plot point in the show.

It'd be funny to see Steamboat Willy do covers of this song and such, heck AI video will be interesting too.
(at about 3:34 in the Steamboat Willy a goat eats a Turkey in The Straw musical sheet; the song below is based on it).

Guess what? SteamBoat Willie is now public domain.

Man I can't wait for all the tranny commie twitter coom artists to draw Steamboat Mickey getting his asshole wrecked by the Big Black Cat person as a way to "own" the company as if they haven't already raked in loads of cash from drawing coomified versions of copyrighted IP characters for years now.
Disney blocked it, Null will shit his pants and say this is valid because the YouTube channel just stole their work.
Nigga are you blind, the link below will lead you to it, the site is just shitting itself with videos right now.

Mickey Mouse is the reason copyright has been extended to be so ridiculously long. How? Di$ney lobbied to get it extended to keep Mickey Mouse from entering public domain.

(or so I heard)
Not just Disney. The copyright on batman and superman should have run out years ago too and got extended along with the one on mickey. Just 10 more years left for Clark Kent now, and 11 for Bruce Wayne

I can't wait for the over hyped shitty horror movie about this.
Sad thing is in the hands of someone who knows what they're doing? A horror movie about the og mickey going insane because of how desecrated his creator's name and legacy has become might work. The biggest middle finger to the rat since Shrek. Think escape from tommorow meets the original plot of cool world....and I mean bakshis original script when it was going to be an animated slasher movie and not...whatever the fuck it ended up being.
