Has there even been any confirmation that Cole's family is actually rich? To me it seems like Brian gaslit Cole and the entire rest of the tank into believing that Cole was Mansa Musa compared to the other fish just to garner sympathy for himself, and Cole either believed it or was too autistic to argue against it. When I was in school the affluent hipster kids used to always be the first ones to give shit to the upper-middle class kids for being "rich" shitheads, even though the truth was that they just had two parents who made decent salaries that can guarantee a cozy but not lavish lifestyle. For all I know I could've missed something where Cole confirms his parents are both multi-millionaires, but all I ever heard was Brian bitching about being poor and Cole nodding his head.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Brian was a rich kid larping as a desolate working class penny-pincher, he acts like a rich kid's idea of a poor kid and doesn't seem to understand what actual poverty is despite his constant insistence that it's his life. Think about it, he fucked up a job at a law firm - poor kids don't even get those kinds of opportunities to begin with. He is somehow able to live alone in what he claims is an empty apartment, but I've never known any impoverished people who could afford to live in their own apartments. He constantly waxes philosophical on beat literature (Dharma Bums, Hunter Thompson, J.D. Salinger, Kerouac - this is essential reading for hipster college kids when they pretend to be poor). And the biggest giveaway is that he can't stop fucking reminding everyone that he is, in fact, impoverished. He wears it like a luxury item. I bet the kid has a trust fund.

Cole's family has money. He also happens to be from bumfuck nowhere where that money is going to go a lot farther. I'd compare his lifestyle to a physician + stay at home parent household. Nothing too impressive.

As for Brian, most law offices aren't shit. People vastly overestimate what the average lawyer makes. Easy enough to get a bitch boy job, especially if you have a cousin or know somebody from synagogue.

I really do think Brian is a massive poor fag but the production told him to play it up even more. Also he is probably hoping to get a MDE gig like what happened with Vance and Josie, but I honestly can't see any of the season 2 contestants doing it or even hanging out with each other outside the show.

CK (Brian's ex) posted on twitter the other day that his parents paid off his college debt of 60k with cash so I don't think the poor boy Brian bit is entirely genuine but I don't doubt that he feels sorry for himself. A lot of self-pity in the house this season
