"Zero Punctuation" and "Dev Diary" by Ben "Yahtzee" Croshaw - The only thing worth watching on The Escapist

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
Latest stream on second wind only got 500 views and no comments suggesting the hype is dying down finally.

They were at 57k and saying “our patreon goal is 60k let’s get there!” which seemed a bit greedy to me.

Damn lol.

It is interesting seeing how the non-yahtzee stuff is actually getting views now. Even the worst I think is getting double compared to how it was on The Escapist.

Maybe it's recognition for leaving with Yahtzee? Maybe it's having a more set rotation of series focused on, and not literal billions of slop videos thrown at the wall?

I only really care to hear Yahtzee talk about videogames, considering he actually makes the fucking things. Even if I am the only one in the world that played 5 days a stranger. The addiction lawsuit video from frost was kinda cool, DD faggot: "TOXICITY IN MOBAS??? BEST UNDERWATER LEVEL!" and I haven't bothered with anything else.

I tried to listen to a video they had about "worst designed puzzle in gaming". It was dreadfully boring and ended up being the usual case of "this wouldn't have been as bad if the Devs didn't make it a massive time waster moving between parts of the puzzle". So it's not even that correct comparing to other infamous moon logic puzzles.

Now I wonder just what would have happened if he had made the same sort of deal with Lowtax, back in the day. Not directly with the man(gosteen), obviously--like if somebody shoved him aside and said "let me handle this before you screw us out of a sweet deal, alright?".
Nothing much. Mega64 closely collaborated with Lowtax in the early days, going as far as publishing their first two DVD sets under the Awful Video brand. That ended in the late 2000s, and they went to YouTube afterwards.

Granted, despite having some successful videos in the early days of YouTube, their work never seemed to really stick, and they've still yet to break a million subscribers in 2024. Though it probably hasn't helped that their effort videos are buried in their channel underneath hundreds and hundreds of their tedious podcasts.

The Escapist posted "Every 2023 Zero Punctuation with No Punctuation" video with the comments turned on and it is going as expected.

It's well known that Yatzee absolutely HATES fighting games and will never get into the meta of them. To paraphrase, he doesn't believe it's worth the effort to know the ins and outs of a character when you can get your ass handed to you by a button masher.

That doesn't stop him from "reviewing" them though. I remember he did Injustice and the older MK game(s).

I'm pretty sure Yahtzee is massively biased against basically any mutiplayer focused game and makes very little effort to prevent this massive bias coloring his reviews. He's also very bad at fighting games. Talking about struggling with SF6's story mode using modern controls. World Tour is not that hard if you know how to block.

He said many times, how he despises multiplayer games, since it means interracting with other people or having to actually work with others. Heck, he raged in his BF1 review about players congratulaiting each other, even when his side lost.

Had the feeling that Snorefield would be his #1 Meh. No idea how Bethesda is going to recover from this, the game's been a disaster on every single front.

Hogwarts being directly in the middle kind of tracks. Good game, but gets a huge buff simply from being the first open world Harry Potter game.
