Russian Special Military Operation in the Ukraine - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Thíchkola Quảng Đứchenko

Evžen Plocek, Jan Palach and Jan Zajíc.

Czechs burning themselves alive was a thing in the aftermath of the Soviet invasion in the 1960s. They made a big deal out of the 50th anniversary of the burnings in the country in 2019 which probably encouraged this stunt.

My dude, it died in 45. All the good men died and their children were left to be indoctrinated into self hatred by the enemy. That and the massive importing of turks as further punishment was just beyond cruel.
No, 1990. East Germany was the last bastion of genuine German culture. The NVA still wore uniforms from the Wehrmacht, just with different insignia, the SED was composed of German politicians, and they still thought of themselves as Germans first and foremost, not "members of the global community". The Grenztruppen kept the GDR's borders closed and secured, and the GDR's citizens had real lives. Not hollow, bugmen existences.

The Bundeswehr isn't much different. Its just that the payroll is American and everyone is fighting to be the most useful idiot servant of the American military.

The bundeswehr is different that the East German Army in that it was founded on the rejection of everything German by people who hated being German. Their most important military traditions are either centered around the July 1944 assassination and coup plot...or copied from elsewhere. They take their oaths on assassination day. The subtext of the oath was always that if the wrong people ever won an election in Germany, the sacred duty of the Bundeswehr would be to overthrow that government.

The purpose of the whole thing is to do whatever the US tells them to do. If a senior officer even gets to the point of expressing an opinion even in private not in alignment with US policy, that officer will soon be gone. See for example what happened to Vice-admiral Kay-Achim Schönbach in 2022. He gave some informal opinions about Ukraine in 2022 at a meeting with Indians in India and then he was fired.

If I recall correctly, the Stasi had somewhere around 300,000 total employees at its height.
Informants weren't official employees. It's been decades since I visited the Stasi museum in Berlin but it was something like half of the population being on record as having informed on the other half at one point or another.

I’d be in favour of letting them keep Odessa if this is how they would use it. The EU needs to be enriched.

Putin is dead again.

OMG NAFO BROS! This is literally like the Star Wars, specifically Dark Empire when Palpatine kept on coming back to life after being dead

But I thought Ukraine was a modern democracy and beacon of Western civilization.

"I think all our people will be our great army. We cannot talk about 'Switzerland of the future' — probably, our state will be able to be like this a long time after. But we will definitely become a 'big Israel' with its own face."

"We will not be surprised that we will have representatives of the Armed Forces or the National Guard in all institutions, supermarkets, cinemas, there will be people with weapons. I am sure that our security issue will be number one in the next ten years."

AND

“Ukraine will definitely not be what we wanted it to be from the beginning. It is impossible. Absolutely liberal, European – it will not be like that. It [Ukraine] will definitely come from the strength of every house, every building, every person.”

- Zelensky April 2022

Zelensky forgot he is not an actor anymore.

For years, many have questioned why tanks were necessary at all.
I'll be honest, that's a view I've had for a while that this war has only solidified. It seems all tanks are good for is fighting armoured vehicles, but that's a role suicide drones are doing more effectively, much cheaper, and incomparably safer for the crew. The suicide drone doesn't have a machine gun, so in theory it wouldn't be able to handle an infantry charge, but in practice the instant soldiers hear the buzzing they'll drop to a crouch and fire wildly into the air, and there have been plenty of videos of the drone operators subsequently calling in artillery strikes on the infantry position, or just diving down to blow them up directly.
I'm happy to be corrected, if you care to educate me on why tanks aren't obsolete yet.

My being jewish is irrelevant here, I just really don't like the west. I wouldn't want to enrich Russia with welfare parasites (I'm evidently a bad jew) but I'll happily watch the EU and the USA inflict that on themselves.
