Because it is. These kids are actually not fucking well in the head. And whether their not-wellness turns out to be treatable (hello personality disorders) or not, they need to be taken and assessed compassionately and thoroughly by mental health professionals to see if they can be put back on track. Just as they do with the self harmers, and the ED kids, and everyone else whose kid brain is just going completely off the deep end.

Kids insisting they were born in the wrong body is a symptom of serious mental and emotional disturbance. It is long past time that it was treated as such.

The problem is that you're assuming therapists will actually try to talk some sense into them and make them better, instead of just writing prescriptions for titty skittles and Zoloft.

Most, if not all, of mental health professionals will do the bidding of the healthcare-industrial complex instead of helping their patients.

Definitely this: especially when you consider them passing out troon juice to anyone asking for it like candy. When they’re supposed to try to get them to be happy with their gender they’re born with rather than affirming their mental illness.

Look, if you are making threats to bring a fucking gun to school, you are either too mental to be there for the safety of the other normal kids, or too fucking retarded to actually benefit from education. Either way, you should get a straight expulsion and long sit on the naughty chair, I mean, "alternative educational provision". Mandatory assessment and therapeutic intervention. Yeah, that means lots of drugs to stop the no-no thoughts. Saying you're going to bring a gun to school should be the ultimate hard stop fuck-up, do not pass go, do not collect $200 for teenagers. It needs to become the thing that is not done, not some kind of basic bitch edgelord shit. There needs to be real and severe consequences for it. There is nothing cool or funny or admirable about murdering random classmates.

It is also a case of using normal reactions to get what the gender therapists want. It is completely normaly for a child entering puberty to start feeling they are in "the wrong body" which tends to be the way kids explain being uncomfortable as their body changes. Gender specialists have learnt to jump on this to add to their number of clients they can force to trans out.
