Warhammer 40k

Choosing Hunter the Reckoning has always been a peculiar decision. 'Cause, that game came out at a sort off tailgate of WoD, where White Wolf was scrambling around to get any interest as they were quickly sinking due to sever funding issues, so they dished out Hunter which felt like it only went through 2 drafts, Mummy (which nobody gave a shit about) and I wanna say Wraith.
I don't know if it's even Hunter, or just using it as a device for talking about vampires/werewolves without the protagonists being monsters. Issue is that it's really fucking hard to talk about the different clans, and after that you just fall on politicking.

I think what really soured my view on the TTS guys, they never wanted to openly admit why they nuked the project and instead pulled a "Mean ol'GW gonna sue us, we cannot afford a lawyer, sorry guys" and their fans bought into it.

A then one of the guys, accidently let it slip during a stream is how they didnt like the series becoming more serious and they couldnt really backpedall as they would lose that sweet Patreon cash.
Who admitted it? ThunderPsyker? Karl?

They could have concluded the series even if it was more serious. I thought that Red vs. Blue and the Venture Bros did fine with getting more serious while retaining comedic elements. In fact, that’s what turned me off with the WoD series; it was too wacky.

TTS worked because you had the God-Emperor saying fuck and retard. It had that serious/comedic contrast.

There’s so much you could do with the WoD to explain the world while being funny. An Elder Vampire from the Middle Ages trying to be hip and youthful; “How doust thine ar’t, fellow kindred?”. Werewolves murdering animal mascots because they have Wyrm taint. A Changeling trying to find glamour in an office setting.

Yet the first episode was the main cast of TTS with a bunch of screaming Fishmalk vampires.

I think that's why I liked the Catachan episode so much. Yeah, it had some their okay-at-best story stuff to it, but it was predominantly focused on the absurdity of the planet and its inhabitants like the early episodes.
The stuff on Jopall where the Salamanders went from paying a debt by forging death masks to helping lead a rebellion that went right back to repeating things just with new bosses was kinda funny, but that's just because I'm a sucker for how they did Vulkan.

"I WANT TO BOOP THE SNOOT!"

Man, you're not wrong about Catachan being a return to form for them...

Well, they completely forgot to be actually funny when they told their story. Shit, even Urist McDawi was a disaster when it came to vowing horrible pain and injury on a bunch of Space Druchii. How you fuck that up is beyond me, but they did it.

Ok can someone explain why Blackheart is considered a traitor when he did nothing wrong and badab if anything should of inspired more chapters to shoot the imperial tax man.

Because that would drastically change the status quo by doing something that hardly any of traitor primarchs did: Be charismatic and get shit done within an short timeframe.

Theory: Patreon would allow creators to be independent without a group of managers telling them what to do.
Practice: Patreon creators now adhere to a group of trannies and yes-men.
It became such a mistake to allow simps, trannies and groomers to do crowdfunding

Because of Imperial politics. I feel that if Huron didn't pull his Badab War antics off until after Guilliman woke up, G-man would've probably helped him.

Has there been anything new involving Huron lately? Seems like since Cadia went kaboom, we haven't heard much of him or the other non-legions warbands.

I know this is a 40k thread, but goddamn man the prices for those Old World models are outrageous. $85 for ushabti, and the fact that some of the models are still in metal. GW really just hinges on the niggercattle fanbase eating this shit up.
Both the whales and the second-hand market profit them.

Let's say for the sake of an example, I buy a Custodes army for 40K from GW. From buying, assembling, and painting them, I spend upwards of 1000 USD. I then sell this army on Ebay for 2500 USD. Some chump who thinks he's being smart in going up against GW buys that army from me. But here's the thing-GW still has my 1000 USD. I just got it back plus some extra by getting some dork who thinks he's hurting GW by buying second-hand merch, when that merch has already been paid for and GW already made a profit off it.

The only real boycott is using 3D-printed custom models that GW can't profit off from.

I feel like a lot of talented people waste their abilities on that platform. The ideal of the "creator doing things right by himself" is so rare it is a non-argument. People need someone unbiased and goal motivated to bounce ideas against, otherwise you get passion projects that aren't fun and are made only for the creator's ego, if they ever come out at all.

Creating more Astartes is a pretty big insubordination, and he had some crazy numbers by the end, with some of it originating in chapters that didn't agree to have their gene seed stolen. Plus outright seceding from the Imperium was bound to end badly.

You're telling me. I've been banned from every 40k related discord I've ever joined for sharing .stl files.

People aren't afraid of GW shutting them down. It's pure white knighting for a corporation. I always run into 1 of 2 types;

1 - 3D printing is theft. You're taking food out of the mouths of store owners and employees. If you don't spend over $1,000 on your plastic army, GW is going to go out of business and the hobby will be ruined for everyone. Really reminds me of the gatekeepers in the short wave radio community that don't think you should be allowed to broadcast if you own a cheap radio.

2 - They're a 3D modeler that makes a profit stealing GW's IP and reselling it. THEY aren't stealing from GW because GW is a big evil corporation, and it's not stealing due to some commie reasoning. They don't care if you trade 1:1 versions of GW's models, but if you take one of the models that they very slightly modified and started selling, you're stealing food out of a poor content creators mouth. You're punching down, attacking poor people, etc. and all the other progressive "it's only stealing if you steal from me" bullshit.

My usual experience in a new discord group.

- get banned

It sucks because I have no home to talk about tactics or army building, but I think of myself like a Johnny Appleseed of 3d printing piracy. Every time I sew my seeds, there's a pretty good chance someone takes those files and distributes them for free elsewhere. I can't distribute the files to everyone, but I can create more people like me that just want people to be able to enjoy the hobby without refinancing their mortgages.

3D printing is considered often as low quality by autists too who don't care about comission fees or GW white knighting. Damn I can't even stand gw resin or metal. And I won't pay for stls, but I approve if you share the paid for stls for free too. A pirate should never be a chump for a merchant, even if one is a freelancer.

A pirate is free!

Patreon just madr it so insufferable.

Like half of the content becomes patreon shilling and it degrades the quality of it badly.

Are those fuck-off big "ultimate" or what have you kits worth it at all? Friend and I are looking to get into the hobby and he just floated the idea of splitting one between us, one like this.

I gotta ask, then what shit did you spend money on for it to even come close to 1000$. 'Cause, even the stuff I have doesn't come close to that sum.

I gotta ask, what hat you pulled this one from. 'Cause I never encountered such people in my life. Like, even the most obnoxious fans don't go this retarded.

So, hold on, you uploading stl files on discords is fine, but some schmuck making stl models and selling those is wrong?

So, basically act like a dumb faggot then and get banned, sound strat.

You are selling yourself quite high there mate. Pretty sure, there are discords chanell that already do that. So, you aren't that special, aside from being and pompous wanker.

Fuck Patreon modelers. I have a folder for them, too.
